Default A reward is awaiting me

Hi everyone,
I have only posted once or twice but it's a new year and I really want to get involved in this group. It seems like there a re a lot of people with the same issues and needs. I have a lot of weight to lose and so does the hubby. However, we have just booked a vacation to St. Thomas in May and I really want to be 35 lbs lighter by then. I know what needs to be done, I just need the motivation. I really do not want to get on an airplane at this weight and I certainly don't want to put a bathing suit on. So time to get the ball rolling. Time to get healthy

Patae - 35 lbs is very doable by May! And you will be so much more comfortable on the flight weighing a little bit less. It looks like you're already off to a good start with the 8 lbs you've already lost!! Good luck and keep posting 'cause as long as you are posting you can't be in the kitchen eating.

Yuck. I remember having to take a family portrait a few years ago. I hated it. Now I don't want to be in any pcitures. I do all of the picture taking lol. In the future people wont know I existed from my photo albums.

Yup. You can do 35 by May. I started at 316 right after Thanksgiving and have lost 26. Hey, there has to be some silver lining in being this heavy -- it falls off really fast to start! And I eat all the time (very little processed food. Lots of fish, chicken, steamed veggies, fruit, nuts, brown rice, steel cut oats, low fat dairy) and I can honestly say I have never been hungry. I try to do some exercise every day even if it's only 15 minutes.

You can do this! Once you get past the first few weeks it gets so much easier and you realize how worth it the effort is.

You'll definitely be able to do it. I want to get family pictures made, too...maybe this summer. My biggest motivation right now is a fancy party to go to on June 7th. I would LOVE to be able to wear something cute and semi-sexy!

Ooooh, St Thomas! I was there in December of '05, it is lovely and I am sure you will have a terrific time. Lots to do, great weather, beaches like paradise. (And I agree with the rest of the group, 35 pounds by May is definitely something you can achieve).

Hey..
Last Feb when I started it was because of a trip on a airplane.....
I had never been on one to start with and did not want the stress of wondering if the seatbelt would fit... Well my trip was at the end of may and I can not remember how much I had lost by that time.. But it was a wonderful trip and I fit great in the seat..
I have lost 90lbs to date .. Been off my diet since last fall.. I am ready to get the rest off for the summer time... First time in a very long time I have looked forward to summer clothes..
Good luck..
You can do it..

Patae, you can do it! In fact, I'll bet you end up surprising yourself by losing even more than 35 pounds by vacation time! Fill us in....how are you planning to do it? Which weight loss plan are you following, etc.?

Thanks everyone for the support. I was away from the computer for a few days but I am ready to start my diet. I did my healthy food shopping. I just plan on eating the right portions and healthy foods, giving up refined sugars and starting my exercise plan. I have already switched to whole grains and have my breakfast settled. The main thing for me is to get moving. I am going to start walking every day because without exercise of any kind it doesn't really matter what I eat, I won't lose weight.
