Thursday Chatters for the New Year
Hi,
We welcome anyone that wants to join our group. We all at one time either weighed or thought about weighing Thursdays We are a fun and supportive group!
I am going to start doing monthly goals. My goal for January is to lose 10 pounds. My trainer has other goals for me too ( losing inches). I am going to seriously count my points and stick with it and see if I can start making headway.
I didn't make any resolutions! I just plan on taking better careof myself. What about ya'll?

Thanks a lot for starting us off, Susan.
New Year's Resolutions----yes, I always seem to make the same ones.
I want to lose 10 pounds this month. I guess that could be a doable resolution.
David is happy to have a job.
I hope everyone is having a great day. We just ate our black eyed peas for good luck. I always fix some ham, too. Today I'm not counting points but am not eating sweets. In fact, nearly every sweet has been thrown out of our house!

Monthly goals sound good. I agree about taking better care of myself. I think my weight loss goal for January will be to hit 20 pounds, so I have 8 to go. I know that I did better over the holidays than I thought I would so that's a good thing!! Very lazy day today. I'm hurting from the fibro, so I've spent most of the day in bed or kicked back in the recliner. Maybe I overdid it on our Michigan trip and doing so much yesterday during the day. We had a pork roast and saurkraut for lunch for our good luck for the new year.

IT sounds like a January Goal is what everyone wants to do. Great!
Tammy, hope you feel better. You had too much holidays.
That's what I had.
Today I've been really sick with a sore throat and congestion. It came on me last night. I was feverish all night. I hate when that happens. You're so tired but just feel so lousy.
My voice is about to leave me right now. Not fun!!!
Dee, how are you and your son doing?
Wildcat, it's great to have you with us.
Susan, how was exercise?
Where are Amy and Sis and Leeann?

Howdy,
Tina, you have what I had. Sore throat at first and then congestion. I hate to say it but it's going to stick around for several days. I ran a low grade fever and would get hot and sweaty and then cold so I know I had one. Hope you feel better!!! Get LOTS of rest!!!!
Tammy, when do you go back to school? I go tomorrow! BOO!!!! I would like another week of vacation.
I went to WW today and was down 3.6 pounds. That's been in 2 weeks. I figure that's a start so I am happy. I work out with my trainer tomorrow. I've been really stick to everything.

Wildcat, welcome to the group!
Tina, I hope you are feeling better today. No fun to start the new year being sick, and not being able to talk is not fun anytime!! I agree with Susan, get lots of rest. Maybe I'll rest for you too!! I'm not as sore as I was the past couple of days, so that's a plus.
Susan, we went back to school today too. I could have used another week just because Tim is still home. I guess I can't complain too much since I'm not even going every day. Good for you on the weigh in!! I think 2007 is going to be the year for all of us!!
Tonight was the first water aerobics class for this session. We have a couple of new people, and I think they already figured out that the rest of us are crazy. We do have fun!!!
Where is the rest of our group?

Hi,
Hope everyone had a great day. I started the day off going to the ENT for my 6 month checkup... don't have to go back for a year! Then ended the day with going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned....
Then I went to work out. Mitch worked me hard. I was done to my last 3 minutes on the treadmill at an incline of 15 and I was praying to be finished. He kept saying "You can do it". He is so sweet and encouraging.
Who has tried the 2 pt. Lemon bars from WW? You get them at the meetings. They are a MUST!!!! I am going to swing by a meeting tomorrow and pick some more up. I loved them. They are chewy but a little crunchy and only 2 pts.
Tammy, isn't it funny how we are never ready to go back to work?
Tina, How are you feeling?
Maureen, how was skating?
Wildcat, how are you doing?
Where is everyone? Dee, LeeAnn, Amy, Mimi????????

Hi Girls!
I uploaded a pic on the pic thread. Best I could do. Still trying to get better. Tired of being sick and tired. KWIM?
School starts next week, the kids are not thrilled. Oh well, such is life. DH will have to deal with that. I am going bye bye.
Tammy got your pm, and I replied.
I think I caught you all up in my last post. Haven't been out in a while, will try today. Have to run errands, haven't felt like doing anything. I haven't even taken my tree down yet.
Has every one put away their xmas things?

Susan, that's great you don't have to go back for a while! That's great that you like your trainer. He sounds very supportive. I love the 2 pt. lemon bars! Yummy!! I bought the cinn. bun ones (or whatever they're called), and I really didn't care for them. We received a sample of the pretzels tonight at our meeting, but I haven't tried them yet. I don't think any of the teachers were ready to be back to school yesterday.
Dee, I'll have to go check out the picture. Maybe being in Ohio will make you all better!!! Our large tree is still standing in the living room, and Tim is going to take it down tonight. Still a few things to put away, and I'd like to get it all done before he goes back to school on Sunday.
I was up 1/2 pound at weigh in tonight. I really need to get strict and start writing things down again and drinking the water.

Dee, I just checked the weather forecast for next week. It looks like during the day it will be in the upper 30's and lower 40's. I know it sounds cold, but for us that's pretty mild for January.

Hi Everyone, I don't usually post in here too often, but I thought I'd stop in and say hi.
I am feeling a little down right now, I've quite possibly had the worst 2 days of my life. My little puppy Cleo, has been diagnosed with Patellar Luxation, so we have to bring her to a specialist for surgery on Tuesday. She's only 8 months old. To top it off, the surgery is going to cost us $3000 (that we don't have) and then on my way back to work yesterday after lunch, the breaks on my truck went. Great day!!
I know this probably isn't the best place to be posting this, but you gals are always so great for support, and I'm feeling quite distraught. My poor dog isn't going to be able to walk for 2 weeks, and then it's going to take her an additional 2 months to recover. She's just an innocent puppy that doesn't understand what is wrong, and it's breaking my heart!
Thanks for letting me get that all out!

Chantal, oh, my, my heart just aches for you and your puppy.
Yes, this is the place to post this information. We are always here for one another.
I don't know anything about Patellar Luxation but it doesn't sound good.
I know all about the high costs of vet care. Our beloved Smokey (cat) costs us a lot of money before he passed away. However, you want to do what's best for them.
Again, we are here for you. Please keep us posted on Cleo's progress.
Tina

Thank you Tina! I really appreciate that.
I should've explained the Patellar Luxation. I've done a lot of researching lately and basically Patellar luxation is a dislocation of the knee cap either toward the inside (medial) or outside (lateral) of the leg. The patella and its ligament normally rides in a groove in the center of the leg.
Apparently, it is one of the most common abnormalities in dogs and Boston Terrier's are prone to this.
Anyway, I went home for lunch today and she seemed alright, my husband stayed home from work to be with her. He's definitely taking this harder than me. He was literally in tears at the vet yesterday, it's heart breaking. The biggest challenge is keeping her from jumping up and down. We've been confining her to a cage when we're not around, but when we're there we let her stay on the couch w/ us.
Thanks again for letting ramble on. I just feel so drained emotionally, it's hard to be strong for all three of us.
I'm attaching some pics of Cleo, so you can understand just why this little puppy tugs at our heart strings.
The first 3 are when we first went and saw her at the breeder's. The last one is the most recent.

Cleo is a doll. Your husband isn't half bad, either.
