Hello!!

A little bit about myself. I am 30 yrs. old and have 2 beautiful girls who are five and seven. I am married (almost 7 years). I have over 100 lbs. to lose. Yikes! Looks scary now that I have it in writing. Like so many, I have been on and off of diets. I refuse to use that word anymore. Saying I am on a diet sets me up for failure and I have noticed people expect more of me when I say I am. From now on, I am "making better choices for me and my family".

So glad to have you here!! I hope you like this place as much as I do. I find it full of support, encouragement and excellent advice. I believe you've got the right idea in mind - no diets - this is a lifestyle change - forever and ever.

hello, also a newbie.
on my 1872th diet it seems. always do well for a while and then back to the old habits. needs to get motivated and get some of the weight off. i am now 48 and not getting any younger.
so here we go and this time it will work!!!

Jenny - it is a big thing to admit to that number, but it feels so great when it starts coming off and you realize that you can bring it down and keep it down!!

Sitting here eating my breakfast of turkey sausage and a slice of whole wheat toast w/ some water.

Making a grocery list, checking it twice Hubby has an appt. this morning. When he gets back from that I will go shopping.

Welcome!! This is a great place for support. And I totally agree with you about the diet thing. A diet won't work. We've got to find a new way to live, and that's what we are working on here.

Hi there and welcome - I am a newbie here too, just joined a couple of days ago. Today is the first day of the rest of my life - and I think it is wonderful there are several of us about in the same place for this new journey!!

Hi, I'm new here too. Looks like a great place to get support from others in the same position. I agree 100lbs seems very daunting but just think losing a 1lb a week you'll have half of that off in a year. All of it off if you lose 2lbs a week!
