Default Serious this time

I went to a christmas party on sunday (ah! the parties have already begun!) and my diet basically went out the window. Cookies are goood but now i regret it.
So now, im getting totally serious. In May my father is retiring from the military so my family will be going to his retirment ceremony. My mom, sister and me were all talking about it yesterday and we were talking about how we are going to have to buy some dresses to wear. I was mortified at the thought of buying a dress at this size and having to shop with my skinny sister.
So, i have more determination now than ever. I have until May to get down to a size 6-8. Its not that much but its very hard for me to lose weight for several reasons.
I am starting a new diet tomorrow that has certain things you eat for each meal. Hopefully it will work!
Wish me luck.
Happy Holidays!

Good luck recommitting yourself!

As a 20 year yo-yo dieter who has finally managed to maintain a 70 lb weight loss for nearly 2 years, I would want to offer a little hard-earned advice to this comment you made:

It might work in the short term - but what will be your plan for keeping the weight off for your whole life? Speaking from personal experience, there are few things as heartbreaking as losing weight, buying new clothes, getting all the compliments, feeling GREAT about yourself and then...gaining the weight back.

You have an awesome goal to be a certain size by May - definitely doable. I would just encourage you to change your goal to a certain size...forever. Are you really willing to eat the same foods at every meal for the rest of your life? If not, try to find something you CAN stick to. Permament changes = permanent weight loss.

Good luck during Christmas, it's a tough time for me too
