Default Mindless Eating

Here's an article about a Marketing PhD who is doing research into the causes of mindless eating.

Wow...I hope the book is better, because I certainly didn't read anything mind-blowing in the article. It all seems very common sense to me--smaller plate=less food, negative emotions=more food (i.e., more popcorn during sad movies), the wine from California vs. North Dakota (I've seen very similar "experiments" performed on Showtime's Penn & Teller's Bullsh!t)...

Thanks for the link! Can you imagine - the never ending soup bowl. That sounds like something on one of those hidden camera tv shows.

Has anybody gotten into the book yet?

I'm reading this book now, I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and so far I think it is absolutely fantastic. I'll write up more when I'm done, so I'll have a better overall perspective.

My review is here.

Short story, I really liked the book, took a bunch of notes for myself, and recommend it.
