Right! Get out and vote! If you don't vote, you can't complain although it doesn't stop a lot of folks. We have a municipal election here on the 13th and we can vote by mail which I've already done. I'm anxious to see if my pal Roger gets in as mayor of the township - we need a change around here.

The Girls are hollering. I'll be back after their breakfast and my coffee. What brats!

I was expecting to wake up to rain this morning, but the skies are clear. It must know that it can't rain, it's my birthday! I'm not expecting anything today, though, since we had a big weekend. Jake is working 10 hour days all this week, so he'll be getting home too late to take me out to dinner, anyway. Maggie has ballet from 11 to 11:45, and I think we'll treat ourselves to lunch out afterwards. She loves it when it's just her and me. We don't have to pick up Audrey until 3, then it's piano lessons from 4-4:30, then after that I should be able to go home.

Ruth, isn't that an awful rip-off what they charge for postage? Often when I've wanted to order something, the postage and S. & H. charges has stopped me. That's probably why a lot of online sites offer free shipping during the holidays. I hope your Finnish friend recieves her package in one piece after that.

Schatzi, how are your online classes coming along? Villanova is such a pretty campus, have you ever attended school there? Enjoy your chili tonight, I may put that on my menu for one night this week, too.

all the Newbies!

The polls opened a few minutes ago, time to go vote!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear COTTAGE, Happy Berfday to you!!! Sounds like you've got a great day planned with the girlies! Hope you fit some "rest and remember what a wonderful person you are, especially on your birthday" time also!

Yep, Schatzi. She's just a craphead. It's just because we're competing for that big promotion I told ya'll about a while back and chief appraiser decided I was to take his place at a conference and she see's the promo slipping out of her hands. All her ire is ALWAYS directed at me. Oh well! Also, she has no work ethic and I get irked by people who don't work, so that could be part of it. You're a shiny, happy person this morning!! Reading your post made me feel like dancing!!

Yes ma'am, Ruth! Actually, I early voted the first day we were able to. This is a BIG race in our county. New county judge candidate vs. incumbent and the whole town has/had mixed feelings. We'll find out tonight. Since our office is closed today for the elections, I would have had the day off, but I decided to go ahead and help count votes, so that's where I'll be all day.

That's my day. Counting votes, grocery store, pilates, iron some shirts, and dinner. (Chicken rollatinis w/ baked potato for DH and salad and green beans for both of us.) DH and I have a date to watch our new netflix movies tonight, so it should be a peaceful, quiet evening. I was looking at the calendar and I only work 13 days this month! Can you believe? Because of the conference, Thanksgiving, voting, and Veteran's day, I'll only be at the office 13 days and I don't have to take ANY personal time!! That's awesome!!

Time to start my day! I may check in later, but we're not allowed to have our computers on, so maybe not!! Have a beachy day, chickies!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COTTAGE!!!!! I hope you have a great day and get some time to yourself to relax!

Kim - Sorry you have to deal with a coworker like that. Any chance you can fire her after you get the promotion? Just kidding, but it'd be nice though. What movies did you get?
Ruth - I can't believe how much that shipping was!
Schatzi - MMmmmmm.... Chili, that's one of my favorite cold-weather meals. I'm making some on Friday when I'm off from work. Sorry the snickers won you over, too.

To all of our new chicks!

Well, I did good with my eating yesterday. I brought a healthy lunch and snacks and have peanut chicken cooking in the crockpot right now at home. Planning, planning, and more planning is what's going to get me through this. I go back to the doctor in 3 weeks and I want to see those numbers down! I had hoped to get up early this morning and get some kind of exercise in but DS had other plans - he was up nearly all night because his teeth hurt (poor little guy). So I decided to use the extra 45 minutes for sleep. I know I need to get moving again as I haven't exercised since before I was pregnant with DS and I DO feel better when I do it, but it's so hard to actually GET UP and do it.

Happy Birthday Cottage!

Oh I'm dragging hard this morning girls....

It's election day and I voted this morning. I was the 164th person to voted at my location. that my people win.

Anyway enough about politics.... So Daniel bought a TV the other night that I forgot to mention. He got a 42" Samsung Plasma TV. and put it on a Best Buy credit card! *cue horror music* Ah well.... if it helps get him some good credit so be it right? Tonight we have to move the furniture around in the back bedrooms so we can take our current 32" flat screen tv into the computer room. The new tv weights roughly 100 pounds... the old tv on the other hand weights about 350. You can see I have alot to look forward to.

I go to the bank this afternoon about my school loan. Hopefully that goes well. I need to give the school a decision soon so they can get things in order for me.

I don't know what else to say.... nothing much is going on at the moment... On to individual stuff:

Schatzi: Girl you are going to get me gabbing about my wedding and I'm going to need a whole new thread about it. My colors are Red, Black and White because we are doing a casino/poker themed wedding. (We are going to Vegas for our honeymoon in case you're curious.) I tried to find the link on David's Bridal so you could see some of the stuff I'm looking at. You can try and view it here. My favorite bridal dresses are Styles CT129, T9017, & T9104. I haven't tried any of them on yet because I don't want to get discouraged and not take a second look at them in April when hopefully I'll be close to 48 pounds lighter. My bridesmaids are going this Saturday to try on some of the ones on that list.... I'm leaning towards Style F11521 but its about to be discontinued so my second favorite is Style F11165. No more details for now Schatzi! Not until I get my own thread!

Cottage: Sounds like you have a busy birthday today!

Kim: Have fun counting votes! Don't mess up like Florida did!

Cottage- Happy Birthday

Chellez- Vegas for a wedding! That sounds fun. My husband and I were seriously considering eloping or at least doing a destination wedding (Vegas or the islands or something) to cut down on the wedding drama of having it in your home town with everyone you ever knew wanting to come (along with people you don't know, but your parents do) . It all works out in the end and we had a ton of fun. We just had to remember that not everything works out how you plan it (but it will still be a beautiful experience) and Whatever happened happened as long as we ended up married (to each other ) at the end of the day!

I'm kinda new. I have been on the SB board for a little over a week. I just made it to my first daily chat yesterday. I keep having to start all over on Phase I week I. I hear you about figuring out what triggers cravings and binges. SB must be something special because even though I keep messing up I still have lost two pounds this week despite Halloween candy, a formal evening even complete with a sit down dinner (sauces) and cake, and a wild hair or two. It makes me more determined to complete the first week just to see what I could do if I followed without mess ups. I am such a carb junkie. If I ever do make it through the first phase you guys may never hear the end of it. I will be dancing and partying all over the SB board. "Hey macarena!!" Oh! sorry. got carried away. I know I can do it, but I feel like in my list of accomplishments the order of difficulty will be: 1.Gave birth 2.Finished graduate school 3. Finish SB phase I

Today is a new day! I'm going to get started and see what happens.

Ebb - Some of our friends were going to do a destination wedding in Vegas but there was no way anyone they knew could afford it. We decided not to get married in Vegas because our families want to be there as witness. With all the drama my parents were giving me at first I thought we'd have to get married at the justice of the peace but finally they came around. I kind of gave them the "I dont care who you want me to marry this is the man I love" thing and I guess they just accepted it.

So instead of getting married in Vegas we are bringing Vegas to Yorktown! I have so many ideas it's crazy. Unfortunately we can't bring in gambling tables to the reception (I thought it would make it very authentic) so we are opting for poker cards incorporated into the flowers and tables.

Bah! I'm going to have to make a thread cause you guys are getting me all excited.

Anywho I'm off to the bank to submit my paperwork. I'll let you know the result when I get back!

Happy Birthday Cottage!!! I hope you're having better weather than we are here, it's cold, dreary, and rainy. Actually I don't mind the dreary and rainy so much (that's my Irish coming out for ya), but on your birthday it would be a stinker.

Michelle: I love your wedding dresses, they're so beautiful! The bridesmaids ones are fab too; they look like they would look fine on lots of different bodys. And Vegas? Sweeeet.

Schatzi: You are my hero! How in the world do you get up so early?! I mean, coffee is good, but not good enough to drag my butt out of bed at 5 Afreakin'M I would be all the time.

Yay for all those who voted!! I fully admit to being an obnoxious voting freak who reminds everyone I see to vote. "Happy Election Day! Now go vote!" I'll call friends and family to make sure they voted. I lurve voting! We had the new electronic voting booths at our station which created a MASSIVE line when I went to vote this morning. I've served as an election official before and an election page before that, but I don't remember a line ever being so long!

So I just realized that tommorow will be the last day of Phase One for me. I'm not sure how I feel about that, considering my past attempts to make the transition have been absolute, complete, utter failures. Ok, not that bad; I maintained the last time, but I don't want to maintain, I want to LOSE. Gah. Transitions suck. Part of me just wants to stay on Phase 1 forever, because of the security of it (if I'm not eating any bad carbs, then I can't binge on them), but the other, more sensible part knows that I'll only end up getting frustrated and gaining back everything.

Tomorrow is also my weigh-in day, and I've got my for a cause otherwise (I really love the smilies on this site!)

Happy Birthday, Cottage!

The weekend was wonderful. We got no rain and it wasn't too cold. The boys all had a great time and I got to see the camp where I will be staffing next spring. It does take two hours to get there but it isn't a bad drive. I won't talk about the food. It was lots of carbs (although they ran out of spaghetti (and salad) just before I got to the head of the line for dinner so I ate meatballs, toast and fruit salad.

I'm up on my weight but I know some of it is water retention. Yesterday I was off work and Brian had a vacation day. I never even got on the computer until the night. This is going to be a busy, busy week. We've got a den meeting tonight. Tomorrow I have a staff meeting for training for next Spring and Thursday I have a Cub Scout Roundtable meeting. Then Friday night I go to pick up the popcorn we sold. At that point, every minute will be spent labelling and delivering popcorn. Dinner is in the crockpot so I don't have to do any more than make a vegetable and rice to go with it at least.

Thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes! It's been a wonderful day, even better than I had anticipated! Cindy even took the girls to their piano lessons and sent me home early!!!!

ebb&flow, I tried making that breakfast cheesecake several times, and it doesn't come out right for me, either!
