Question Ear Stapling???

Hi!

Has anyone heard/tried ear stapling? Supposedly it works like acupuncture, and my sister was talking to this guy at work who says all the women in his neighborhood are doing it with success.........but I don't know.... it sounds vaguely painful and too good to be true.

Any thoughts would be sooo welcome!

Seems like hooey to me, but I am old, jaded and cynical about "too good to be true" weight loss.

Here are three other threads about ear stapling:

Another ripoff - been around for years. You can get the same effect wearing a rubber band around your wrist and snapping it everytime you want to eat.

Yeah! I have been there done that and it did not work for me, but it did for my aunt, so I say it wouldn't hurt to try it.

Incidently, I know someone who trained in chinese medicine, and basically it's a good idea in theory, based on a concept from chinese medicine, that western medicine is attempting to use, but does not fully understand. It is based on the acupuncture/accupressure points in the ear, which do work, but like anything in the body when it is stimulated for a period of time, it stops having effect. That is why the "tacks" some people get work, because they are not a constant stimulus, and why stapling, and piercing does not work. And no, it is not like snapping yourself with a rubber band every time you want to eat.

here are the maps of the points in the ear:

and no please do not try performing acupuncture on yourself (and accupressure on the ears doesn't really work as you need to stimulate a very specific small area), please see a professional for acupuncture

I am in Alabama and there is a woman here who does it and it's only like $55.

But there is also a woman who works with me who has lost over 50 pounds.

Angry Too Good To Be True is TRUE

I did it - no luck. It wasn't painful, just a little pinch in the ear, though if I rubbed the staples it could hurt. I left them in for a month and had them "readjusted" after the first month. Still nothing so I had them taken out. Taking out didn't hurt either. I wouldn't recommend it. ANOTHER waste of money!
