Default Man, I let that last thread get LONG! (HotLF #86)

It's Swinging Summer with the Loozing Floozies (unless you're a northern Floozie--where it's 40 degrees at night!!), so swing on in and join a great group of ladies (gents are always welcome, too!!)!!

We're here to motivate each other in our weight loss journeys and to give each other when necessary.

What are you waiting for? Come in, sit down, put your feet up and pet the dog (or cat) (or bird, but watch out for that beak!) and have fun with us!

Cheryl ~ I love your thread starters! We haven't quite hit 40 yet, but it was close! It was 42 night before last and a bit warmer at 48 last night, still too cold too soon for this floozie!

Having about the same weather as Suzy, but unlike her, I LOVE it! I am so ready for cooler temps! Please don't throw anything at me!

Had a great weekend here, saw a play, The Marriage Minuet. It was at the Westport Community Playhouse. Very good play and the actors and actresses were amazing. Great time, and I laughed and laughed!

Gayle, keeping your Mom in my prayers! Can't wait to hear what the dr.s say about their "wonder woman patient"!

I agree Cheryl, your thread starters are a riot!

Gayle ~ how is your mom doing?

Suzy ~ I would freeze to death at 40 degrees. It's COLD down here when it hits 40 degrees. I think our temp today will be 100 with a heat index of 110. I'm glad I have a "cushy" inside job. Whew.

Lynn ~ where in CT are you? My best friend lives up there and I have visited him and his family. Beautiful place. Just like a post card. Thanks for the sweet words about my picture. Yes, I went dancing! Actually, we went to Baton Rouge, LA and heard a band that we really like. My dancing buddy was down there in the general area anyway so he just drove over and met us. We spent the night and came back home Sunday afternoon. His taste in music is geared more towards country but I'll dance to anything. I did get to dance some with him. I think next weekend we are going out of town to a different place and he can pick it.

Shelly ~~ HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AND MIKE!! Soooooo, what did you do?! Get any sweet presents? Inquiring minds want to know! Ok, I'm just nosey.

What's the lateset news on Baby Wyatt? Hope his progress gets better and better. He seems to be headed that way.

Hi All,

First things first....Wyatt is doing GREAT !!! Thank's to talented doctors and all the prayers. Dusty (his mom) e-mailed me today saying he may get out of hospital earlier then they thought. She got to hold him today and she cried so hard my nephew, Tony had to hold him. It was only the second time she held him, she was overcome with joy. They will have to stay in the area for 3 more weeks but they are so happy. Thanks again all !!!

Gayle your mom must be a very strong woman ! I hope all went well, and what a GREAT weight loss, she must be proud.

Suzy I too like the cool evenings, like to sleep with the windows wide open. It's nice to air the house out too.

Cheryl - I 3rd the starters of the threads. I can see now how you do so well with all those papers you write for school.

Linda sounds like you had a great time with your friend. I love to dance, maybe I'll do more when I move in with all my "SENIORS" ,,,what a sight that will be.

Has anyone heard from Street Bob??? Maybe her husband is still in town.

Well about me.... I had 2 showings on my house, one today with the listing agent, and one Saturday night that I did. Hope one of them buys. I really am excited to move to my new home. The builder sent me some new pictures Sunday. The tile roof is started, the tile is on the floor, the carpet is down,,,,I can't wait. I weighted in yesterday,,,down 1.6 lbs. I was really suprised. I ate out 2 nights and still haven't got to the gym. I was all set to go this morning when they called to show the house, so I washed all 3 bathroom floors, the kitchen, dusted and washed the front windows, so I guess I got a little work out. Maybe tomorrow I'll get to the gym.

Later All, Monica

Linda, I am in New Milford, CT. Near Danbury. Very cute, New England town. Love the Green in the middle of town, has some event every weekend during the spring, summer and fall. We love it here!

Monica, congrats on the weight loss, fingers crossed for you that you sell your house soon! Also, so happy to hear about how well little Wyatt is doing!

Monica - Congratulations on the weight loss!!
Gayle - Hope all went well you with mom.
I'm still trying to get myself together and get back on track.
I worked 13 hours yesterday so I wasn't eating supper until 8 last night.
I am going to rejoin weight watchers next week. I have missed three weeks of weigh ins so in probably cheaper to just re-join rather than pay for the missing weeks.

Monica, congrats! Great news! Weight loss and baby Wyatt is doing wonderfully!

Debi, your town sounds lovely, far from the boring plains here.

Linda, I lived in a tiny town called Waterproof, LA one summer after I married my first husband. I must tell you, it was an experience for a young girl away from home for the first time. My time there was short lived, but while there, I was able to venture out to some of the larger towns. Our summers here seem to get hot like yours, I think you guys have more humidity.

Suzy, do you go to the doc this week? When will Travis be leaving? We have a friend who will be leaving in the next few weeks. He is thinking by the first of September.

Cheryl, thank you so much for sharing your humor with us! I love reading your intro to the threads!

Janice, you are so close to goal.....I'm sending special "diet vibes" your way!!!

The weather is cooler here over the past few days. Light showers, which we need and temps staying under 90. NICE, considering the several days of 100+ heat and no moisture. In the mornings, it feels almost like Fall. I want my Summer back! Where did it go?? LOL! School starts tomorrow here. Allison has orientation tonight and she ended up getting the teacher she wanted so all is well and she is looking forward to being a 2nd grader.

Thank you all for the well wishes with mom. She went to go see her heart specialist and he was very excited with her progress. In fact, he clapped his hands together and told her a job well done and to continue doing what she is doing. She is so well known there because of her experience, we then went down to the heart unit and found a few of her nurses. There were hugs and tears for awhile. In fact, one nurse remembered the exact date it happened and this was 1.5 years ago! I know it made moms day to get a good report and to be in the limelight for awhile. Not too shabby for a spunky 80 year old!

Wishing everyone a great day today. I think I ran Sher off! She posted while I was gone and now since I'm back, I think she has only posted 1-2 times. And where, oh where is our little Dee?

Gayle ~ My doctor's appointment is tomorrow afternoon. I hate going, but I am anxious to hear what he has to say about my loss so far.

Travis is training at 29 Palms (California desert) for the month of August. He will be done with that between the 28th and 30th. Then he will have a 10 day leave and deploy to Iraq after that. I'm not sure of the exact date yet though. The good thing is that he will be in California and not Iraq for his birthday (September 6th)...it would really stink turning 21 in Iraq!

I'm glad to hear that your mom got such a good report from the doctor! Wonderful news!

I hope Allison has a wonderful first day of school tomorrow! School doesn't start here until the 29th.

Monica ~ Congratulations on your loss! You are doing great!

Janice ~ Come on girl...we CAN do this! We both need to get back on track and reach that goal!

I'm cutting grass today, so I'm getting my exercise! I just need to stay away from the chocolate cake that is leftover from Sunday's picnic...

Suzy, I didn't realize Travis is as young as he is. I just assumed since he is married with baby he was older. Thank goodness he can celebrate his BD here in the states. I hope you know, we all care and are an extended family here. ALL of us will be saying prayers for Travis while he is away.
SENDING GOOD DOCTOR VIBES! Have fun!

I hope Carol doesn't mind if I post this: I received it today in my email:

My mom is not doing very well these days. Her cancer is growing and we have called Hospice in to help out.
On top of that I had my right ankle replacement done the 5th of July so I am hobbling around on that and can't drive. So much stress!!

How are you and everyone else? I know I really should stop by the website and leave a message, I just never seem to have the time. Tell everyone hello for me!

Hugs
Carol

Please place Carol & her family on your prayer list. Sounds like she is having a rough time.

Suzy - I know we need to get those last few pounds off. I just lost my motivation when I got so close.
Prayers to Carol's mom.
Is Dee on Vacation again or just hanging out by her pool?

Janice, I sent Dee a personal email this morning asking if everything was ok. I haven't heard back from her yet.

Gayle ~ Travis is married (he married his high school sweetheart right after boot camp. They had been dating since 9th grade), but they don't have children. My oldest son, Shawn, is also married and has two little girls. Abby is 5 and starts kindergarten this month and Emma is 3.

I'll be keeping Carol and her mother in my prayers.

Janice ~ The same thing happened to me. I got within 4 pounds of my goal and just quit. We both know that this is a lifestyle change and that we can't quit or the weight will come back. Come on, we'll wipe the slate clean and start fresh today...we can do it!
