Default Weekly Chat... Aug 7-13

Well, I'm back and feeling MUCH better!! Won't manage to get any exercise in for the next couple days as I've got a meeting at noon today (Youth Group...and I'm NOT prepared so have to work on that!) and tomorrow I meet with a group of ladies from church. Maybe tomorrow after that. I'm hoping to start getting water and exercise in. I know...heard that before. I just can't seem to get into the swing of things. I was OP except for yesterday. DH turned 40. So I made him a cake. I only ate a small piece as I remembered what it tasted like last month (DD's birthday). Only difference was I made homemade cream cheese frosting. Still too sweet!! lol. Haven't stepped on the scale so I'll wait for that. Just wanted to hop back here and get back into the swing of things

Hello Lady A...where's everyone today...? My weekend sucked as I knew it would..I have no control on weekends...ugh! I spent all day on Friday at the Mall of America (6 am we left home and returned at 11pm) so we ate out all day....but it was soooo fun! Sat and Sun we spent remodeling our kitchen-so we had to eat out all weekend...taco bell, carabou coffee, etc. Today it's still hard to get back on track, but I will!

Low carbing....is my goal for all week

Hi everyone. I am sticking well to my food plan. I am still not able to exercise due to my ankle. I had to sit at my sink tonite to do the dishes. It was pretty sad. I want to be up and moving. I feel lazy if I can't exercise. My weight is maintaining at 141-143, so I'm happy with this. I hope everyone is doing well. Good night all.

Hi ladies,

Well, just in case anyone is like me and doesn't stop to think before taking the same old medications they always have: beware of liquid Nyquil! I had already swallowed it before I realized how sweet it was and looked at the label. Corn syrup! Argh!

And of course, this morning I tested myself for ketosis, and I'm back down to "trace amounts". I am so upset with myself.

Luckily, though, no carb cravings. *fingers crossed*

Lady A, my belated happy-birthday wishes to DH! Lilybelle, you've been in my prayers with that ankle; hope it feels much better soon. And Idealperson, I'm glad you at least had a good time shopping!

Have a great day, everyone.

Good Morning

tipsy~ dontcha hate when that happens!! Im glad there are no cravings this morning tho.

Brenda~ Happy B-Day to your hubby! p.s. its not his 40th birthday but the 1st anniversary of this 39th birthday In my world anyway!

Eating is still good, I managed to get thru yesterday without any slipups. I even tossed out the rest of the cake. There was about 1/2 left. Since my dd was suppose to be the only one left to eat it....she didnt want all that cake....so I saved her a piece will all the icing scraped off and tossed the rest. (she didnt like the icing)

Its suppose to stay fairly cool today (compared to last week, 72 will be cool) so I think dd and I will hop on the bikes and go for a ride over to the big park. If not, she can scooter while I walk my old walking route.

Have a great day ladies!

IP: How did you do with being OP yesterday? Sounds like you had exercise so hopefully the stuff that was eaten won't matter much. (hey...call me Brenda )

Lily: WTG on maintaining! Did I miss it...how did the doc appt go and what's the verdict on the foot??

Gypsy: I would never have thought about cough syrup! Thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping that whatever made you reach for that is better today

Robin: I like the way you said that! I'll have to tell him that, he'll like it as well! WTG on the exercise!!

I've not gotten exercise in, nor water. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe too much being on the go and not wanting to worry about being "on the go" if you know what I mean? Hopefully I can start getting that into the routine!

Brenda the Dr. appt. showed that I have "nerve damage and foot drop". He isn't sure if this will be permanent or temporary. I see an orthopedic specialist this coming Friday. Maybe he will know more. I am wearing the immobilizer boot all the time now. I even slept in it. I am trying to keep this in proper alignment to prevent further drooping. I have had X-rays and CT Scan. X-rays showed no break. I am not sure what CT scan showed, I have the films to take to the orthopedic doctor, I looked at them but since I can't read them it all looks ugly looking to me. lol

I am staying op with my my food. I actually miss getting to walk.

We are having major problems with our plumbing here. The plumber is coming on Thursday. My kitchen sinks, 1 bathroom, the dishwasher and the washing machine are all backing up. The other end of the house has 2 bathrooms and they are on a different system and they are fine. 2 separate systems and water heaters. I don't know what's going on. My DH has tried to fix it and he isn't able to. I told him I was getting a plumber. He isn't that great of a "mr. fix it, but he thinks he is". With this bum foot, it really sucks to have to do the dishes , way down the hall in the bathroom sinks that work. My DH did offer to do them last night during his 5 minute breaks on party poker. What a gem, huh. I declined the offer and sat at the sink with a barstool and did them myself. It would have taken him all night with only a 5 min. break every hr. on a multi-table tournament. Anyway, I am sending my son's GF to the dollar store for paper plates and disposable glasses. It's LC sandwiches and simple things for a couple days. They can all have real food again when the plumbing is fixed.

Welcome Leah, we are happy to have you. Jump right in and post away. Congratulations on the 8 lbs. lost, WTG. Also great job on choosing Atkins, those of us here can tell you that it works. Not always easy, but works great when followed. Good luck with a successful weight loss journey.

Ok i did just as i said that i wouldnt and i went OP as soon as my husband got here. BUT me and him had a long talk last night and I am starting back today and will start back to the gym tomorrow morning or possibly this evening. I had my breakfast and got a few things for lunch today. I am going to buy some veggies and shakes tonight so that i can get more veggies in. I figure i will stay on induction till i hit 200 even then i will start bringing fruits and other things in. So that is my plan now.

Good morning, ladies!

Man, it's amazing how quickly the carbs can affect me. Just from one dose of sugary-nasty Nyquil night before last, I am having cravings, am exhausted, and just feel YECH. I get to start Induction all over again! Yay me.

On a somewhat more positive note, I went to the rheumatologist yesterday and during the exam found that my blood pressure is WAY lower than I thought it would be: 108 over 70. Weird.

I'm looking forward to having a full workup done in a few months to see where my cholesterol and triglycerides are as well; I'm a curious little cat, me.

Lilybelle: Boy, you are having some tough time of it lately! *hugs* I wish I could help.

Idealperson: I love those McDonald's salads. I do try to stay away from them because I'm sure that chicken is processed in some way, but mmmmm, so good.

Leah: Welcome, and good luck to you!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi everyone. I am up and hobbling around a little. No change with the foot and ankle. My weight is maintaining well and I am happy with this. I have to go pick up DD from work, so I'll catch up more later. Hope everyone has a great day.

Ilovemike, glad to see you are back on program. Can't blame you a bit for a little slipup with having the hubby home after all the time he was gone. WTG on getting back to your plan. Congratulations

Welcome leah and hello to all the regulars....today has been good so far, I always seem to have the most problems in the evenings...bust at work and alot of stress! Anyone want my job? Just kidding, I need my income and then some!

Today I didn't have breakfast, but had a big salad for lunch...I need to get back into the breakfast routine...I did pass up some good looking brownines-- a plus!

Do most of you eat breakfast? How about exercising? I suck at both, I am in a size 12, but need to firm up my stomach and I am up 2# from last week-that was the Mall of America trip, remember? Ouch!

Have a great day!

IP, I eat breakfast every day. I am just hungry when I get up. Not being able to exercise really BITES. I actually miss walking.
Gotta go make a big salad now to go with the ribs that I cooked for dinner. BTW they are the same ones that fell and tore up my poor ankle. At least I get to eat them now. lol
