Default Spiders and storms and birthdays, Oh My! (Loozing Floozies #85)

Welcome one and all to the most happening thread on the forum (at least MY corner of it!!)

We've got a great group of ladies here who, lately, can't seem to get enough excitement!

In the midst of everything, though, we find time to be here for each other--to check in and motivate each other with our weight-loss (and just day-to-day) struggles. If you're interested in a group like ours, then come on in
(though I can't promise we'll smash the fist-sized spiders for ya )!!

Hello everyone!

Today was my last day of class--yippee!! Three weeks of freedom before heading back to the grindstone! I took my final and turned in my paper this morning. The paper wound up being a little over 10 pages, and took me longer than normal to write. If you'll remember, it was actually due YESTERDAY! I swear it has something to do with the class being so early in the morning! At any rate, it's done now

Another one of my Daddy's brothers died (one died in Feb, too) this week. The visitation was last night and the funeral was this morning. I couldn't go to either because of my class. That stressed me out somewhat. I wasn't as close to this uncle as I was the one that passed away in February, and we've had problems in the past, but I loved him nonetheless. And, he was Daddy's brother. It hurts me when my parents hurt.

I took a day off my "diet" yesterday. I **NEEDED** to eat out. I can't explain that need, but if you've been there then you understand. I had pizza for lunch and then ate steak and rice for supper when I got home from the gym (I did exercise, at least ). Then, before I sequestered myself in front of the computer to work on my paper, I had 2 chocolate chip Eggos and 2 cups of --whole-- milk. Bad, I know. I don't know why **my body** needed that day so badly, but when I weighed this morning I hadn't gained a single pound. I'm sure it'll catch up before Monday, though .

Anyway, just wanted to catch up and start the new thread. I'll try to post more now since school is out. Should be on the exercise thead, no matter.

Love all,
Cheryl

Cheryl, I have that "need" every so often too. It seems like my body is "hungry' for something. Usually after a day like that, my body will want less the following day. I can't explain it either. Thank you for being such a good thread starter. I love your humor! Congrats on finishing up classes! I noticed your tracker, keep on going, girlfriend!

Gayle and Linda--So glad I have friends who understand what I'm going through! I'm determined not to let that one day get me off track, though!! I AM pushing through until I weigh less than 270!! (Beyond that, definately, but that's my 1st mini-goal).

Linda, I'm working on my Master of Arts degree in English. I'm only able to take 1 class/semester, so I'm not sure when I'll graduate. . . Someday. . . I can't decide what I want to do after I graduate, though, so right now I'm not in any hurry.

Thanks for the -- I needed it.

Cheryl-I love the title of this thread! It is sooo fitting. I think your day sounds divine! Just get right back on track and you may even be down by your next WI. I especially like the idea of the choc chip eggos. I've seen them, but never tasted them. Prayers to your family in the loss of your uncle.

Linda-Go to www.dwlz.com and see if they have Chili's on the restaurant points menu. They probably do.

Gayle-I made Mike help me change the linens on the bed and search behind the curtains, pictures and dresser when he got home today. No spider. He thinks I was dreaming. I hope so!

Cheryl, as a teacher at a local university, I can say non-traditional students are my favorite! I love having them in class. They are there because they want to be, they are serious and a joy to teach! Also as a teacher, I understand your eating the other day, I get like that during finals. Between writing the exam, and correcting them, I am so stressed, I have to eat.

Linda, if you are interested in going back to school, get a copy of the local schools catalog and read the classes offered, that might help you decide, when you are ready, what you want to be when you grow up!

Shelley, if it was me, everyone would have heard my screams! I HATE spiders, they have way to many legs! They really scare me. I am sure you were dreaming!

I have had a crazy week, and I gained two pounds this week. Luckily for me, the last day of summer school was today, so now I can really get back on track. Also we have the air conditioners here and installed. I can cook at home again. We were eating out so much, as we didn't want to heat up the house, and now we have the AC units so we can be in the kitchen and not feel like we are in the oven! So hopefully with that and no more eating out for lunch every day, during summer session, I can get back on track. Also the belly dancing class has to help!

Hello to all my friends,
Things here have not been too good for me.I can't go into it right now but I'll explain everything when I can. To make a long story short, We are moving. Yep...MOVING again!! We have only been here in our new home for 3 months and we are leaving fast! We are moving in with friends until some things can be straighten out. But Wayne & I are ok. Not in trouble with the law! Just some family issues that I can't talk about.

I've been very depressed for 2 months over all this, and today is the first day that Debbie got me to laughing again. All of this has taken me for a loop and it's going to be awhile before I can get back to being myself.

Please say a prayer for me that everything will turn out ok. I really love & miss you all....

My dearest Sherry, I am saying a prayer for you. I hope everything turns out okay. Remember, this too shall pass.

Debi-Good for you that SS is over. Hopefully you can have a chance to breathe before the new year starts.

Our open house is tomorrow and things are really rolling at school. The kids come back Tuesday, the rest of the staff (aides, etc.) come back today for a big luncheon. I'm sure I'll have to help set up as usual. Things are so busy. BTW, I slept with the light on last night, since Mike was in his office. He said if he came in the room, he would turn it off. I was up and down all night waiting for my spider friend. Think I'll name him Harry, if he really exists.

You just keep little Mr. Harry down there with you Shelley. LOL!

Sher, I hope things start looking up for you. Family can be horrible to deal with. I have had family problems now for 20 years starting the week my father died. When Steves dad passed, the same thing happened. Hopefully, everything will turn around and you can move back into the house. Tell Wayne hey, and hugs to both of you!

Debi, glad to hear you finally have AC. I can just imagine how it was considering the heat wave that was going on in some areas. I know we broke record heat a few times over the past month. Belly dancing sounds interesting. We have another Floozie who has been MIA for awhile, who loved to belley dance.

Linda, it sounds like you have some dear people surrounding you. I'm glad you had a happy birthday.

Cheryl, so sorry to hear about your uncle. {{prayers}} I had an aunt who passed a few months ago, but we were never close either. I went to the funeral because she was my dads sister and if he was still living he would of wanted me there. Prayers to your dad, sweetie. Losing two brothers in a 6 month period has to be rough.

We went yesterday to see the specialist for Allison. He examined her and did x-rays and photos. He said he can get started into phase 1 which will last about 2 years. Then on to phase 2 and then he said we will need to just sit it out and see how her body developes. Her bottom jaw is not developing as fast as her top so she has an over bite. Plus her teeth in front are not growing out perfecting straight down, they are angeling outward. We will start phase 1 to the fine tune of $5,000.00. Our insurance will cover $2,000.00 of it. Basically we will have a coupon book and send in monthly payments. BTW: we will need to pay $1,000.00 down to get started, then we will start in with the monthly payments. Anyone win the lottery and want to share?? LOL!

Sherry, keeping you in my prayers. Hope all is resolved quickly for you!

Gayle, hope Allison is not in pain during all this work! Sounds painful! Sorry, no lottery winner here!

The AC's here are wonderful. We did have a major storm come through last night and it helped with the humidity. But it was a major storm, flooding, lots of wires and trees down. Rain in sheets, thunder, lightening! But only lasted a half hour.

Good Morning All.

Sherry my prayers are with you. Try to think possitive thoughts, even thought right now it might be hard. Tomorrow is a new day, and just might be better.

Debi - Glad you're cool again. Eating out all the time is so hard I don't know how you did it. I always ask for a box as soon as I get my meal and put 1/2 in it before I start, that way I am not tempted to eat more then I need.

Cheryl - CONGRADULATIOS !!! Remember every class finished is that much closer to your degree. I did that too, many years ago. I was a math teacher and went to grad school at night and in the summers, I remember the pressure to do it all. I think you were right to have a "FAT " day. It is better to do it and eat what you want , now it's out of your system and you will get back on track.

Linda - Go for it !!! My da use to say you are never to late to get an education. After I left teaching to work at GM, and my girls were all older I decided to go back to school too. I had a Master of Math Education, but didn't want to teach so I took classes in Communications. It was so different from math, and my English background was not strong, but I really enjoyed those classes. I had 22 hrs when I moved and never finished, but I will never forget the things I learned. I am thinking of going back to school ,,,,at 60 ..when I move to Arizona. Not sure what I'll take either, but I know I'll love it.

Shelley - Glad that Mr. Harry has not reappeared !!! Good luck with the open house and the coming year.

Going to the lab today to have blood work for TSH levels. I am not sure they are right yet, but they are getting better. My hair is still coming out, skin is still very dry and on a positive note I am not as tired as I was. Will know next week the results.

Take care all, have a GREAT week-end, and think POSSITIVE !!!

Monica

p.s. HD Bob you must be busy with hubby, but I miss you !!!!

Sherry ~ I'm sorry to hear that things are so difficult for you right now and that you're having to move again. I hope everything starts improving for you soon!

Cheryl ~ My sympathies to you on the loss of your uncle. Congratulaions on finishing your paper and completing your class...that has to be a good feeling!

Shelley ~ I'm sure things are really busy for you right now! I can't believe that summer is over and school is starting already!

Debbi ~ I'm sure that once you get back on a more normal schedule that it will be easier to get back OP.

Gayle ~ Sounds like Ali is going to have to go through a lot...poor thing! Poor you too, those are going to be some hefty dental bills!

Monica ~ I'm glad to hear that you're starting to feel better!

I'm cutting grass this afternoon, so getting a good workout here today!

Default Whoo-hoo!

My professor posted grades--I made an A! That makes me happy

Borrowing a technique from Linda here, because I'm afraid I'll leave someone out if I don't!

I know exactly how you feel!!!! Really!!!! I'll bet you're SO GLAD to have that AC--it's so miserable everywhere! I'm so interested in the belly dancing, but I'd never be able to take a class--maybe in the privacy of my own home!

I hope the people at school appreciate you more now than they did in times past. "Harry" would make a good inscription on a tombstone--good thing, too, because I have the feeling that if he has a name that'll be the only place it'll show up if you ever see him again!

Ahhh, the days of dental work. . . Are you going to have to repeat any of this when she's older? Thank goodness for payment plans! We had to do one of those when I got my braces, back forever ago. Thank goodness for insurance, too! If I win the lottery you'll be at the top of my list!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! I think it's great that you're going back to school when you move (when will that be again ). I've been trying to get my Mom to take a class at the community college, but she's tired. Thanks for the congrats!

Oh, sigh, me neither. I may never even use my degree, but I love going to school. It pays to keep the intellectual juices flowing! Plus, you can start out w/just the basics and see what appeals to you. The only problem with that, though, is that so often you don't get the full effect of a subject with just the "intro" course Thanks for the cut/paste thing.
