Default OT - any computer buffs out there?

Here's the dilemma.

I am able to receive emails no problem, but for the past 2 days, whenever I go to reply to somebody, it takes too long, where it can't find the server.

I usually go through yahoo email, and have never had a problem. I thought maybe they were down, so I opened an account with hotmail (MSN).

Do I need to adjust any settings somewhere, and if so, where.
Please help! This is my only contact with a couple of friends from ages ago!

Thanks!!!

Sherry--I am clueless but I'd call your internet provider--they may be able to do or suggest something--mine are always helpful and usually they can push a button on their end and fix it.

Is this the email provided through your ISP or is this through yahoo's email? If it's through your ISP, what email client do you use? i.e. Outlook or Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc. If it's through your ISP, they would have to confirm what your outgoing server settings should be, so I'd probably go ahead and contact them.

Well, I got my email worked out for now. I ended up calling the cable company (even though it's yahoo email because everything else worked fine EXCEPT sending/replying). I told him I have windows XP, and he told me what to do on the phone. You can recover your system, so I went back to the last day that my email was working properly, and "recovered". That worked! So happy Now!!
