Wink Motivation

Hiya,

How are you all doing? I always feel that it's much harder for me to keep to my eating plan on weekends, probably because I am not as busy as I am during the week and snacking is much easier. Sometimes I need to get motivated to keep going, so I have this list of sayings that I read to keep myself motivated and I thought to share it with you.

Motivation (sorry that the list is in caps)

MOTIVATION IS MY SECRET WEAPON TO REACHING MY GOAL.

IF I GIVE INTO FOOD TODAY, I WILL NOT PUNISH MYSELF AND KEEP REACHING FOR MY GOAL.

SWEATIN' IS MY BODY'S WAY OF "CRYING OFF" THE EXTRA POUNDS.

DEPRESSION IS MY MIND'S WAY OF TELLING ME TO WORK HARDER TO BE HAPPY.

LOSING WEIGHT, IT'S NOT JUST A JOB, IT'S AN ADVENTURE. I'M JOINING TODAY.

MY SCALE IS ONLY A TOOL TO MEASURE MY PROGRESS. IT IS NOT A MEASURE OF WHO I AM.

I WILL NOT BE DEPRESSED ABOUT HOW MUCH WEIGHT I HAVE TO LOSE. I WILL BE EXCITED BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN LOSE IT.

WHEN I CHEAT ON MY WEIGHT-LOSS PROGRAM, I'M CHEATING ON ME.

FOOD IS NOT THE "BOSS" IN MY LIFE. I AM STRONGER THAN THE TEMPTATION OF ANY FOOD.

LOSING WEIGHT WILL HELP ME GAIN A NEW FRIEND. THAT FRIEND IS A BRAND NEW ME!

TODAY, I WILL NOT ALLOW MY EMOTIONS, HAPPY OR SAD, TO PUSH ME TO OVEREAT.

THE SLOWEST WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT IS TO DOUBT MYSELF BEFORE I EVEN TRY.

A YEAR FROM NOW YOU MAY WISH YOU STARTED TODAY.

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE MY LIFE BY LOSING THIS WEIGHT. IT IS JUST UP TO ME TO USE THAT POWER I HAVE TO CHANGE MY LIFE.

EATING THE WRONG FOODS IS WHAT HELPED ME TO GAIN WEIGHT. EATING THE RIGHT FOODS WILL HELP ME LOSE IT.

THE NUMBER ONE CHEERLEADER IN MY LIFE IS ME.

GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO SUCCEED.

EXTRA POUNDS ARE THE PENALTY I PAY FOR OVERDRAWING MY CALORIE CHECKBOOK.

I'M WEIGHING MYSELF TO CHART HOW FAR I'VE COME TOWARDS MY GOAL, NOT HOW FAR I HAVE TO GO.

MY WEIGHT MAY STILL BE MORE THAN I WANT IT TO BE. BUT IT IS THE LEAST IMPORTANT PART OF WHO I AM.

LONGTERM GOALS VERSUS SHORT TERM PLEASURE.

THE QUICKEST WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT IS TO GET STARTED RIGHT NOW.

IF SOMEONE THINKS I'M UGLY BECAUSE I'M OVERWEIGHT, THEN THEY ARE UGLY FOR THINKING IT.

WE ARE WHAT WE REPEATEDLY DO. EXCELLENCE, THEN IS NOT AN ACT BUT A HABIT.-Aristotle

MY ROAD TO LOSING WEIGHT IS A ONE-WAY STREET, NO U-TURNS ALLOWED.

I WILL STOP DOUBTING MYSELF AND MY ABILITY TO LOSE THIS WEIGHT. IF I REALLY WANT TO LOSE THIS WEIGHT, THEN I REALLY CAN LOSE THIS WEIGHT.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SUCCESSFUL PERSON AND OTHERS, IS NOT LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, BUT RATHER IS LACK OF WILL-Unknown

FUEL IS THE FOOD THAT MAKES MY BODY RUN, EATING TOO MUCH FOOD SLOWS MY BODY DOWN.

NO MATTER HOW CRAZY OR HECTIC MY DAY, I WILL MAKE TIME TO PAMPER MYSELF EVERYDAY.

FAST FOODS LEAD TO FAST CALORIES LEAD TO FAST POUNDS.

COMMITMENT IS WHAT WILL TURN MY PROMISE OF WEIGHT LOSS INTO A REALITY.

Good Luck

Shimi

I think this one is a bit worrying:

DEPRESSION IS MY MIND'S WAY OF TELLING ME TO WORK HARDER TO BE HAPPY.

IMHO happiness is the natural state of the human mind and depression is a medical condition which should be treated as such. I have had depression in the past and the last thing you need is to be told to 'cheer up' - even if its yourself saying it! If you are feeling seriously depressed then it would be a good idea to visit your doctor.

Like Lou says, try saving a few points, sins, calories or whatever for the weekends or, if you know you will be eating extra or drinking in the evenings then eat lighter for the rest of the day.

Thanks girls,

Don't worry about me, I am far from being depressed at the moment. I will keep your advice in mind about saving some calories from the week and using it in the weekend. At the moment I'm trying to find things to do to replace the eating when I'm watching TV in the evening. Every bloody book suggest to go and have a "nice" bath instead (I swear, fat people must be the cleanest people on earth).

anyway, thanks again
