Thanks for all the beautiful sentiments on the 30's thread and the birthday thread. I had such a fantastic trip (and I'm getting on a plane tomorrow for the Cincy trip) and I wanted to share some of the pictures from it.
I had a small injury. I sprained my ankle hiking (falling) to the waterfalls on the Road to Hana. It prevented me from hiking for the rest of the trip (and it hurt like ****!) but I did manage to swim in a waterfall, snorkel like crazy and spent many nights star gazing with the Cute Boyfriend.

I hope that wasn't too image heavy (it's hard to choose just a few!). I loved my trip - I forgot that I even turned 30!
Jessica-I LOVE THE PICS!! I went to Maui last Sept. w/DH for our 30th Anniversary! I have dreamed of going to Hawaii for MANY years and our 3 kids surprised us with a trip. We went with another couple that we're good friends with. I wasn't the weight I wanted to be, but I REALLY had a great time. We were on Oahu for the 1st wk. and Maui on the 2nd. I loved Maui a lot better. We stayed at Weston Kaanapali Shores. We have never traveled much so it was a dream come true for us. You are sooooo lucky to make it to swimming in some falls. We took the "road" to Hana. Got some great pictures, but it had been raining that day, so we couldn't hike down to the falls b/c it was so slippery. I just told my DH we'd have to come back again LOL!!! But anyway, I could NOT beleive that road and how narrow it was. Did you go all the way?? We had to stop once and back up for a school bus. We had a rented Jeep. I could NOT look over the edge. Never been car sick but was close a few times LOL!! We learned to snorkel and that's all my DH and I wanted to do. It was absolutely breathtaking. Oh, BTW I also slipped on the road to Hana (at the stop where we took pics of waterfalls). Didn't do too much damage- more to my ego than anything. I must have looked like a graceful hippo trying to catch myself. Slipped on some TINY pebbles at a pulloff. We all had quite a laugh. Beautiful place-must go again!!!! Glad you enjoyed it!!
I was fortunate enough to spend 8 weeks on Maui in 93 ... I had friends who lived there and invited us to stay with them for free. Maui is cool because the people are so laid back. Fashion doesn't matter so much, or at least it didn't then. The Hawai'ian culture is amazing and beautiful, too.
I am SO jealous...but thrilled that you had a great time.
Take care of that ankle...I know what that's like, I have a gimpy ankle that gets injured at least a couple time a year (born with it gimpy, the joint isn't tight like it's supposed to be, so the nerve gets trapped in the space now and then OWIEEEEE!)
wow, very nice! I've never snorkeled! that sounds like a blast. Thanks for posting the pics. (Great idea for a 30th; of course you realize that now you get to plan something even bigger and better for 40!!)
Wow.....great pics!!!!! It looks like you had a fabulous time...I am soooo jealous!!!! I"ll make it there someday...hummmmm....lol.....anywho..I'm glad you had a wonderful time!!!!!!!
