Default Would a Disneyland vacation count as an obstacle?

LOL - Any tips or ideas to not blow my hard work this next week in Disneyland?

I just spent a week in Disney World parks a couple months ago....
and my approach was....
I vowed not to go crazy, but I also wasn't going to be surrounded by all these crazy foods and spend my time munching on carrot sticks. I knew that I would eat a few things I normally wouldn't... but the point was that this WAS not normal and was controllable. I was careful... didn't go nuts and gorge, but I did allow myself to have some treats. The result, for me, was that I wan't craving anything and getting all frustrated.. which often results in going the opposite way and eatin geverything in site....
I drank A LOT of water along the way, and walked my BUTT off . The parks involved very little sitting ... and, other than the time spent standing in lines for rides, I think we were moving all the time, so that really really helped. I just looked back at my fitday to check and... nope... I didn't gain that week.

Thanks for the advice Mel. I know we are going to walk tons so I'm truly not worried about the exercise part but I think I'm going to be brining my own fruits and veggies so #1 I can snack when I need to and #2 I don't get charged $3 for an apple!

If you're talking about Disneyland in LA, I know that there is a place right on Main Street (by the main park gates) with healthier snacks - fruit, juices, etc. Its a cart set in one of the alleyways. If you forget to bring your own fruit, you can always stop there and pick some up (but you're right, it will be expensive).

I would strap on that pedometer and keep on walking!!! Its amazing how many steps you do, I had no problem reaching my goals.....also included walking up and down steps (no elavators)to a lower floor. We drove and took a case of water bottles and lots of fruit,granola bars, 100 cal pack treats..... as they are soooo expensive to purchase in the park. If you choose wisely, items such as yogurt....fruit salad.....half bagel with ff cream cheese......salad with dressing on side and grilled chicken....grilled shrimp for dinner..... YOU'D BE SURPRIZED!!! Have a great time!!!

My dd and I go to DisneyWorld every year and here's what I do: When ordering from the cafeteria type places, ask for a fruit or veggie subsitute for fries. They'll do it for free. The other thing I do is split my meal with my kid. Disney is notorious for giving waaaay too much food, so this made more sense and I was able to keep my portions under control. (We even did this in the nice restaraunts. You wouldn't believe how much $$ we saved )
