Default I did it! First Spin Class!

Ok, not only was yesterday my first group class, but it was SPINNING! Only 15 minutes into it I thought I was going to have to leave but I made it through the whole 60 minutes. I've never sweated so much in my life. I'm actually not sore today either, I think my muscles are in better condition than my cardiovascular system. I think I'm going to try the step class soon. Thank you all for pushing me to do it (from my last thread)!

Well done Stacy, I'm glad our nagging, oh I mean encouragement worked, and you went to your class. I haven't tried spinning yet, it looks a bit scary!!! At least our spinning only goes for half an hour, I can do almost anything for half an hour

Stacy - congrats on getting a class done! That is so awesome, man spinning and step aerobics are two classes that kick EVERYONES butt...they are pretty hard just because there is very little time for breaks and you go so fast.

If you can do spinning, you can do anything. Way to go on putting yourself out there! You should feel so good about yourself right now!! Congratulations!!

Thanks everyone!

It was great until the end when the instructor announced it was my first time and everyone clapped. If I wasn't already beat red I would have been from that!

Stacy,

I did my first spin class this week too. Mine was only 1/2 an hour tho, but I did thoroughly enjoy it and will do it again. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but I did suffer from some saddle soreness if you know what I mean.

Thanks guys.

purplecrush, it's cycling. Everyone uses a manual bike and follows the instructors lead through fast, low resistance and slower, high resistance intervals. Every class is run a little different though. I heard at my gym the evening one is a lot easier than the die-hard 6:00 am class. You'd probably like it if you tried it. Just drink LOTS of water and go at your own pace. Nobody notices if you pedal a little slower!

hey purplecrush, did you picture little grey haired old ladies in long skirts with bags of fleece spinning wool??? I did !!!

Our gym has three levels of spin, hard, harder and impossible! I haven't been brave enough to try any of em yet!
