G'day all,

My news is worthy of starting a new thread
I have lost 2.6 this week. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif
I am really pleased there has finally been a shift in this very persistent weight of mine.

Good to see you back Glenda, I can imagene you would have not been in much of a mood to post here this past week or so. Shame you cannot attend your son's wedding, particularly seeing you are (and he is I guess )so thrilled with his choice.

Regarding elective surgery, the exact same applies here, unless you are privately insured you can have whatever surgery immediately otherwise there is a long wait.

Another very hot day, more knitting today
The only reason I am able to knit on these very hot days is because our house is fully air conditioned and half the time I am unaware how hot it is until I move outside
We are a little concerned about our swims now, there have been about 5 shark attacks this summer, one shark was spotted just off 'our' beach yesterday http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//nervous.gif
Going to Singapore in 2 weeks time, more heat but different scenery!
Have a great day all.
Cheers
Maria

Dee, so glad that your DD is doing better. Bless her heart, she has had a rough time. Glad you have a housekeeper too. Remember, it is her job to clean for you----not yours to clean for her. Let her do the things you just despise. (of course for me that would be all housework).

Maria, I like to knit too. Havent done any for about 4 years. Have you ever considered a knitting machine to do the back and sleeves (when they are plain stockinette stich) and save the handwork for the fronts and design areas? When do they expect to get the fire under control?

First Place uses an exchange list that is very similar to the diet Jean Neiditch (sp?) originally stole from the New York City Health department. It is virtually the same plan without the emphasis on fish and liver. I compare First Place to a Christian Weight Watchers before they started fooling around with points. It is very much like the old selection plan without any of the sugar. We have to commit to no sugar during the weight loss portion. I start tomorrow so I ate about a half pound (maybe more) of homemade fudge last night. I know that with the support I will get with my First Place group that I will be able to stay on track. Besides, I am the leader so I have to stay honest. It was my way of forcing myself to be honest for 13 weeks. I will keep you posted as to my progress.

Glenda, I know this week has been brutal for you. I hope that your school recovers from this grief weekly.

Maria: Congrats on the loss! What you did worked. Glad it helped to get you moving!

Glenda: Hope things are going better now. You did have a hard week. Hang in there.

Geri: Good for you. Being the leader to! Hope this helps you, sounds like it will. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Good morning Ladies

It is another grey mild day here. We haven't seen the sun since Thursday or Friday. How are you doing with that Trudy? I am looking forward to seeing the sun.

I haven't been to a ww meeting since before christmas. I won't have to pay because the leader said I have a good medical reason to miss. I will have to try to get there this month.

My DD is finally going to see her new therapist today. She hasn't had any therpy since she has been out of the hospital. It is about time!

Maria Way to go on the weight loss. Doesn't feel great? Well you say there is sharks in your water....yikes that is kind of scary! So what do you think about the deal...Slavika's tree skirt for a knitted sweater for me?????

Geri You seem to know me quite well. I need to leave her do the cleanning. I was so nervous last week that I cleanned before she came. She comes every wednesday...so this week I will try not to tidy to much.MMMM that fudge sounds good! I hope you enjoyed it. Now back to business.lol

Have a good day ladies!

DEE

The sun is out, the robins have returned, Maria has had a great weight loss finally. Good going. Maybe it is all the knitting. The sharks sound scary - take care. Glenda our local morning paper had a nice article about your basketball team winning last nite. They had a lot of pictures and a story about all your tragedy. Geri, your no sugar diet sounds hard. Good luck and I bet that fudge was good. Good grief, I just hear major bad words coming from the kitchen. My DH is painting and he knocked something over. I thought it was the paint bucket but it was just a bucket of water. I better go help. Peggy

G'day all

Just letting you know that I will not be attending anymore ww meetings. I received (read bought) the ww cd yesterday and it is excellent. It has all the information and much more than I would ever hope to get at a ww meeting. Don't get me wrong, I think the meetings are great for some, I just happen to have had a fairly ordinary leader and because of my lifestyle (travelling a fair bit) the cd loaded on my laptop is just excellent. It has a journal and automatically calculates the points I have for the day, a facility to easily work out the points of a favourite recipe and a huge data base with all the points for the most common foods available in Australia. DH and I are doing this together (he only needs to loose 5 pounds ). I have never shared any of the ww information with him but it is making the journey much easier having his support and his understanding of the program.
I know the cd is not available in the States nor in Canada, I really feel you should try and persuade your local ww organisation to make it available.
Dee I don't know if you would like the jacket I am knitting, it is a bit like Joseph's coat of many colours My daughter loves anything a little unusual (slightly eccentric )hence she wanted me to knit her 'own' design, with lots of different colours and textures. I am not looking forward to sewing it up, there are so many threads that have to be sewn in
Still very hot here today, bushfires under control in this state but in Western Australia there are some fires burning out of control . It has been a very hot summer, winter is looking pretty good at this stage.
Have a great day all.
Cheers
Maria

Peggy: Send your DH over to my house it could use some painting. We really need to paint the outside of my house soon. It needs it badly.

Maria: Thats WW CD sounds pretty neat. I wish they would offer it here.
Sounds like it would be very helpful.

Where is everybody hiding? Sure is quite here

Wow, Slavika going to Hawaii has really slowed down our message board. I think she is the stirrer with her stories, don't you?

Well, my son called yesterday with the news of his child's sex--a boy. I tried not to sound disappointed, just wanted a granddaughter so bad. Surely the next time. I have 3 sons and soon will have my 3rd grandson. We are about due. Anyway, after talking to him, I realized how extremely cocky he is about his boy. He took the revealing ultrasound to work and showed it to his fellow coaches and got a lot of high-5's. Men! My older son with the two little boys is going to buy "The Book" before they try for another, hoping for advice on how to conceive a girl. Is there a book like this? Anyway, I am getting excited about this baby. He should be special because both his parents are pretty special. His name will be Austen or Auston? Cole. Cool name.

Maria, congratulations on the loss. Wish we could get that program. If you find yourself slipping, you can always go back to WW. Today we have sunshine and forecast of 68 degrees. So ready for a little warmth and sun. Our basketball team flew for the first time since the tragedy to Lincoln, NE and got there safely. It has been so cold and gloomy here that we are ready for some of your sun.

Lily - how are you doing? How much more do you have to go to goal? You are an inspiration to us all because of your steady progress.

Mornin' all - This last week has just flow by but I want to take a few minutes to catch up on the board. If I don't then I will be too far behind again.

First of all - congratulations to all the losers. You are doing good and it gives me such inspiration.

Oh Dee I could use your housekeeper but I probably would want to work right along side of her. I always feel I can't ask people to do what I wouldn't do but I guess if I was feely punky like you I would just love to have the help. Looking after yourself is the most important thing.

I wish we had that CD here too. We are always the last to get stuff like that.

Glenda you will be so excited when the baby comes. It will be adorable no matter whether boy or girl.

Craig and Tanya had their place broken into and robbed a few weeks ago so Tanya insisted on moving so this weekend we will all be helping them move into their new digs. Hopefully some of that exercise will burn up some calories..

Well I got to go do some housework and I'm off to yoga tonight. later all........donna

Lily I will be GLAD to send my DH to paint. If only we were closer. GLENDA, my friend finally got her first granddaughter. She has 4 sons and 3 grandsons. I know it will finally happen to you. Your warm weather is coming our way tomorrow. How is your diet coming along Geri? We are going to one of the gambling boats tomorrow - Maybe I will win my fortune with my $20. Ha Ha. Good luck on all your diets - that cd sounds like a great idea. Peggy

Hi all,
Been reading the boards quickly each day or so just haven't had time to post. Well now I do as I am sick again. Pretty sure I have pneumonia. Well see the doctor today to conferm that. I also have a wonderful case of laryngitis. I usually have it at least twice a year. So this must be the first. I'm not feeling real bad just tired. Partly because I'm not sleeping.

I worked yesterday two meetings about a 120 miles round trip from home. Got to drive home in the snow fall we are having. The snow fall is supposed to last until Friday.

Maria so glad to hear of your weight drop. ** happy dance for you. Stay out of the water ! Sharks http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//nervous.gif

Dee so glad your DD is doing better. Enjoy your house keeper. When I was a teenager we lived in Pamama we had a lady who came in 3 times a week and did the cleaning, ironing and dishes. It was wonderful. My mother, to this day misses that woman. Me too I was spoiled rotten for 3 years.

Geri keep us posted on the progress your group makes. I truely beleive that any diet works as long as you work the program. It just so happens that WW is the one that I was able to make work for me. Good luck.

The month of febuary always seems to go by so fast. This is good as We leave on March the 10th for our winter getaway. I'm looking forward to getting out of this snow.

Well I'm goinG to try and go back to bed for a while. I'll check in later.

Glenda: Congraulations on the new grandson! Really like that name to!
I still have 10 pounds to go to get to goal. Im stuck again. But I have been measuring myself monthly and I am losing inches like crazy. Almost ready for a new size. So it keeps me going!

Donna: Sorry to hear that Craig and Tanya house was broken into. Im sure she is spooked. Thats a scary thing to have happen. I know I would be scared. Not fun to move tho.

Peggy: Send him! House is ready to paint! You gamble like me. I go with my 20$ and thats it. Its fun but I always have a hard time spending any more than that. Got better things to do with my money. Course I never win either. But my 20$ lasts a long time!

Karen: Sorry you are so sick. You go crawl in that bed and stay there.
Pneumonia is nothing to to play around with. You take care of yourself. Lets us know what the DR says. Hope it isnt Pneumonia. Where are you going on your vacation?

Turns out I didn't have pneumonia after all. Bronchitis is what ithe Doctor said. She gave me something new and by the next morning I was feel human again. Only thing is the pills are really hard on my stomach so have to take them when I eat. Not a good thing at 10:00 PM. But we do what we have to right.

This board is really quiet.

It's really cold here again. The snow is nice an white again. But in a few days it will be all dirty and ugly again. Supposed to be a really nice day today for skiers and snowmobilers. I do neither. Think we'll go to the movie and see that new Hanibal one maybe.

Talk to you guys later

Karen I am glad you are feeling better. That is a long drive in bad weather when you don't feel well. Let us know if Hannibal is any good. Lily look for my DH - I am going to overnite him to you tomorrow. The weather should break soon and he can get his construction business going again. We went to the Belterra Casino boat and I lost all My pennies. I never take more than $20. We ate at the buffet and I stayed in control. I have lost 2 pounds this past week. 42 more to go. Have a good weekend everyone. Peggy
