Unhappy Help with food measurements

Since I measure everything, so I know how many ounces to put into my fitday journal, I use a digital scale. But sometimes the measurements come out to numbers that I have no idea how to enter.

For example, I bought a big cod fillet yesterday and cut it in two a few minutes ago so I can freeze individual servings. One fillet was 6 and 7/8 and the other was 5 and 3/8.

How the heck do you enter 7/8 and 3/8?????

Entering 1/4 is easy, I just put in .25

1/2 is .5

3/4 is .75, etc etc etc. But I have no idea how to enter all those 'weird' numbers. And I'm terrible with math. So are there any charts (I couldn't find one) that will at least tell me what 7/8 is closer to so I can round it off? Like is 7/8 closer to 1/2 or 3/4????

Arrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!

Linda - an eighth of a cup is .125 cup (half of a .25 cup). Likewise, an eighth of an ounce is .125.

So:

1/8 = .125 = 2 Tablespoons (if measuring by volume)
3/8 = .375
5/8 = .625
7/8 = .875

In practical terms, I'd round 3/8 to 1/3 (.33) and 5/8 to 2/3 (.66) and 7/8 up to the next whole number.

Hope that helps!

(can you tell that I'm a Fitday junkie too? )
