I have been reading a lot of ads for Lipo-dissolve. They claim amazing non surgical results, but of course the ads are placed by the companies selling it.

For those of you not familiar with it, apparently..."Phosphatidylcholine’ is the active component of fat dissolving injections. It is found naturally in the body and is responsible for fat and cholesterol metabolism. Injected directly into problem areas, phosphatidylcholine emulsifies and helps catalyze the breakdown of fat."

Does any one know if it works? Is it just a myth? Are the results noticable?

I'm not very familiar with it. From what I've read, it's a fairly new thing and not much is known about any long term effects and one source said there wasn't much interest in funding studies. It sounds promising, but like everything else, there is a certain amount of risk involved, and nothing is safer or more sure than old fashioned diet and exercise.

It seems very questionable, injecting various compounds into your body in hopes it'll melt fat? I'd have to see some real medical trials on it before I even thought about it. Also it is very expensive, a bit too expensive for something that "might" work and the consequences aren't known.

Totally agree.

And some of the articles I've been reading on this have been rather...um...scary to say the least.
