Default Fat Chick for at least another year!!!!

Well chicks,

It looks like I'm going to be a fat chick...even fatter chick... until the end of 2006! I just found out this morning that I'm pregnant. Part of me is super excited. Part of me is scared (because I've miscarried before and I really really hope this is a healthy baby). Part of me is disappointed because I was doing so great on losing weight but wont get to lose any more!

Does anyone know anything about SB and pregnancy? How about the minimum you should gain while pregnant?

Congrats! How exciting...we LOVE babies around here! My best advice would be to partner with your doctor.....he/she would be able to tell you what will be healthy for you & baby.

Congratulations!!!! Definitely check with your doctor on eating. I went off SB when I was pregnant because I didn't have the energy to prepare the foods and my body majorly craved comfort carbs. Luckily I've been able to jump back on and the weight I did gain is coming off nicely.

Best of luck to you!!!!

Congratulations! While partnering with your doctor, you might also get a "Fit Pregnancy" magazine. This should help you along the way to stay healthy for you and your baby.

Congratulations!!!

What wonderful news!

Definitely talk with your doctor...but a visit to a nutritionist might help too. I spoke with mine because we're hoping to start trying one day soon. She said to keep doing exactly what I'm doing, but to add about 300 extra calories each day. Those calories, she said, should be split evenly into dairy/protein, fruit, veggies, and good carbs. She said to avoid Sweet n' Low, consume no more than two servings of Equal, but that I could have unlimited Splenda. Restrict caffeine (but we do, already) and no alcohol, of course. Otherwise, it was fine to stay on my Phase 2 regimine. I know that some mom's do a Phase 3 version...keeping to the tenets of the diet (as few processed foods as possible, good carbs, good fats, etc.) but eating a bit more. Of course, every person is different, and you definitely need to talk with your doctor to find out what's right for you...but you can definitely at least incorporate SBD into your plans. And when the baby's here, you can jump back in even more easily.
