Default New person!

Hi everyone,
I'm new here (well joined a week or so ago) and just wanted to say hello.
I'm 26 and looking to lose around 8-9 stone. I'm only 5'4" and weigh just over 18 stone. It feels so liberating to be able to say that here and not be judged. In fact, it is only on this website that I have ever revealed my weight.
I am hoping to begin my 'journey' from tommorow. I have been gradually cutting down what I eat day by day so as not to shock my body into deprivation!
Is there anybody here from the Cumbria area?

OMG - is there anyone here from the Cumbria area? Half the people who visit here are from the Cumbria area! I'm sure they'll be along soon to say hi!

Anyway - you're in good company. Some of us are at the start of our journey and some of us are towards the end but its always great to come here to give and get practical and emotional support.

Good luck with tomorrow - its the hardest day - and I think you did the right thing by preparing yourself for it.

You can do it, and well done for revealing your weight. Admitting you want to lose it is the first hurdle down already.

Welcome. I was 19 stone when I started too. It's not as hard as you think once you get started. I think the first 6 - 8 weeks are the worst. Once you learn how to do things like eat chocolate without bingeing (and not for breakfast it gets easier.

You will become an exercise junkie hanging around us lot though!!! you have been warned

I hate running I could become addicted to the stepper though.

I really want to go to belly dancing classes but can't find any here.

I'm Cumbrian.

Look at me *jumping up and down* Me Me Me

Look at me *jumping up and down*

OK, I don't live in Cumbria now (I'm in Switzerland) but I'm true born and bred Cumbrian. Well, Westmorelandian really, but as they changed it 35 years ago I suppose I have to say Cumbrian

I'm from Langdale, near Ambleside. Where are you from?

Hello peeps! I'm a newbie here..hoping to lose weight n gain friends! Drastic action is needed as this year my life will supposedly begin...and I'd much rather be fit n 40 than fat n 40! Always had problems with my weight but last Easter I decided to quit the ciggies and although I may have saved some monetary pounds I have certainly gained some flabby ones! I have actually become a member of my local gym today and along with a controlled eatng plan I'm hoping to shift them saddlebags! Well chicks... looking forward to chatting to some fellow fat fighters...speak soon!
