I'm making a cd for my bf for Valentine's Day (we tend to like country love songs) Some of the songs I'm going to include are:
You Had Me From Hello by Kenny Chesney (Our Song)
Amazed by Lonestar
Keeper of the Stars by Tracy Byrd
To Make You Feel My Love by Garth Brooks
How Do I Live Without You by Trisha Yearwood
Its Your Love by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
God Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
Feels So Right by Alabama
In This Life by Colin Raye
Your The Only One by Keith Urban
I Cross My Heart by George Strait
Because You Love Me by Jo Dee Messina
I am addicted to love songs! I think I know just about every single one... here are some of my favorites:
John Hiatt- Feels Like Rain
Chantal Kreviazuk- Feels Like Home
Norah Jones- Come Away With Me
98 Degrees- I Do Cherish You
Brian McKnight- Back At One
Boyz II Men- I'll Make Love to You
If I Lost It- Kenny Chesney
Me And You- Kenny Chesney
Heaven (The Candlelight Version)- DJ Sammy
Here and Now- Luther Vandross
My Valentine- Martina McBride
and this one is just plain sad... but a really good song
Tonight I Wanna Cry- Keith Urban
True story ~ When my wife and I were about 6 months into our relationship I sent her a copy of Cross My Heart by George Strait one morning in the mail. When I got home that evening there was a small package for me from her, it was a tape of Tracy Byrd ~ with a note saying the song Keeper of The Stars was from her to me. This was not Valentines Day or anything, just another day ~~ fate?
I'm rather fond of the underappreciated country songs. "Our" song when we were dating was If I Never Stop Loving You, but darned if I recall who sang it. (Chorus: "If I never stop loving you/Will you never stop wanting me to?/Say you won't and that's what I'll do/For forever with a heart so true/If you'll start and end every day/Forever never wanting me to go away/All I guess I'm gonna always do/Is never stop loving you.") I'm also very fond of Living in a Moment, but again I can't remember who did it. I'm really bad at recalling names sometimes.
Of course, when it comes to what I think are the best love songs, honestly two always get me, and they're old 'uns: I Walk the Line by Johnny Cash (and btw, I find it very ironic that they took a song about him being true to wife #1 to be the title of a movie in no small part about him falling for June Carter) and Luckenbach, Texas, which doesn't sound like it should be a love song, but the prevalent sentiment there is about getting back to the basics of love. And, well, I consider anything about Texas to be romantic. (I've been to Luckenbach, btw, it's got a population of about three people and five dogs and is one of *the* most relaxing places in the state of Texas.)
I also like Keith Whitley's version of When You Say Nothing at All. Love Allison Krauss, but Keith Whitley just does it better.
And Gary Allan's version of Best I Ever Had is just heartbreaking, especially when viewed through the lens of his wife's death.
Here's the words to "our" song by Led Zeppelin it's called "Thank You"
*If the sun refused to shine,
I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea,
There will still be you and me.
Kind woman, I give you my all,
Kind woman, nothing more.
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain,
Tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
Together we shall go until we die.
My, my, my, An inspiration is what you are to me,
Inspiration, look see.
And so today, my world it smiles,
Your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done,
For you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad,
Happiness....I'm glad.
*Chorus
20 years later it still brings a tear to my eye when i hear it.....
Jen...I too am addicted to love songs! A lot of the 60's and 70's though. Feels Like Rain is a GREAT song! I first heard John Hiatt on the movie Raising Helen.
MonsterMomma...I love that song also, If I Never Stop Loving You...just can't remember who sings it.
I posted a lot of love songs, but not "our" song....which there is two, Give Me Forever, I Do by John Tesh & James Ingram, our wedding song, and NowThat I Found You by Terri Clark, our song when we were dating.

Gary - My bf and I met online in a Yahoo chat room. I live in NJ and he lives in Pittsburgh. We met for the first time right after Christmas. We tease each other and say "our" song is "You Had Me From Hello" by Kenny Chesney because both of us confessed after hearing each other say "Hello" on the mic in the chatroom....we knew we had to meet
