Weight Loss Thoughts …

Fat cells are attracted to chocolate... that is why we crave chocolate. Put a chocolate bar under your pillow and sleep on your side. All of your fat cells will fall right out of your ear trying to get to the chocolate bar. If you can keep from then eating the chocolate bar in the morning all of your fat cells are gone!

FYI....During scientific testing there has yet to be found a person who does not eat the chocolate bar so this theory has not been proven.

Calories are afraid of heights. All food kept on top of the refrigerator for at least 24 hours is now calorie free. All of the calories have jumped out.

The kitchen sink drain has been calibrated to suck calories out of food. Therefore any food held over and then eaten over the kitchen sink has no calories. The calories have all been sucked down the drain.

Hmmm..... now why am I heavy? LOL

Where the heck is everyone????!!!! It's lonely here - I feel like I'm talking to the walls ... I'm in trouble if they answer me!

I blew my low carb last nite - we went to dinner and I had the pasta bar! And I had a cup of potato/cheese soup, 2 pieces of french bread AND a dish of vanilla ice cream! It was very very good - didn't eat all day. I didn't go overboard (although it sounds like it) have enough left over for dinner tonite (for hubby) and I enjoyed it so I don't feel guilty. I'm just back OP today.

Well, hope everyone is doing well ... and that you all come in and talk with me SOON! I'll be checking back later on ... have a great day everyone!

Love, CJ

I've been packing all week, we're moving this month! YAY!
CJ-I was bad last night too. We had a ton of treats for the super bowl with friends and my parents. I didn't over-do it, just ate junk.
YAY me! I'm down to 171! I've officially lost 20lbs now!
Only 25 to go!

Hey ladies! I just saw your group today, and I would love to join. I definately want to be thin, so the "thin wannabees" seems like the obvious choice. I have read over some of what you guys have said and you all seem so nice, especially CJ . I hope to get to know all of you better. We can all do this. Talk to you soon. -Sheridan

Welcome Sheridan! I'm happy you picked our group to join - you will like everyone here - and you will get a lot of support. The girls are sorta missing in action lately, but I'm sure they will be in soon. Post often so we can get to know you, and we will do the same. So once again - WELCOME.

Mel - hey, WTG on hitting 20 lbs! I better get my butt in gear - you just passed me up by a lb! lol ..... good luck on the move - better you than me. I'm still unpacking from our move ... but unfortunately I cannot unpack everything as we moved into a smaller place until we build - hopefully this year!

We are SNOWED IN today - been plowing all day .. we got about 14 inches and it's still snowing - we're suppose to get maybe another 8 inches yet. But it's sooooooo gorgeous in the woods. We were going to go to the Casino last nite but stayed home because of the snow! I love the snow but so wanted to go to the Casino ... wah wah wah ...

OK... where are the rest of you????? It's Monday .. how did your weigh-ins go? I'm still the same!

Later...
Love, CJ

I didn't have much time to write earlier....

Mel, 20 pounds?!?! That is a HUGE accomplishment (no pun intended )!!!! Allen is soooo cute! Enjoy it while he's young, because soon he will be into EVERYTHING!!! My daughter, Megan, will be two at the end of March, so I know from experience .

CJ, I see what you mean about everyone being M.I.A. lately. This thread was started a week ago, and the only person other than you who posted was Mel. Hopefully everyone will start coming here more often. All I know is that when I was doing bad on my diet at the end of last year I stopped coming to 3FC, even though that was when I should have come more. I just couldn't add the weight back on my ticker, and I felt so guilty and didn't want to face anyone. Maybe that is what is going on with them. Who knows...only time will tell.

A little bit about myself....I live in Gainesville, FL and I am a 22 year old (23 on February 24th) single mother of a beautiful, intelligent daughter. I go to the University of Florida. I am majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and minoring in both Sales Engineering and Business Administration. Needless to say, I am very busy. I was at a normal weight before I got pregnant by my then boyfriend of 2 1/2 years. I just ate, and ate, and ate. I gained about 60 pounds. I have lost, gained, lost, and then gained since then. I just know that this time is the last time I am going to be overweight (well, right now I am clinically obese ). I am a big girl, but I don't honestly look "obese" because my weight is spread out over 5'11" of me. According to the BMI I am 48 pounds over the "normal weight range" (surprisingly 178lbs. is considered "normal weight" because of my height). I am finally going to lose 61 pounds this time.

Oh yeah, one more thing....
why are you guys doing Adkins??? That DIET (and I stress the word DIET) is so bad for you. We should all be making lifestyle changes, not go for the quick fix. Adkins, for one, cannot be something you follow for the rest of your life. Your body needs proper nutrients, and you just don't get them from Adkins. I have noticed how you guys have "cheated" and ate carbs. You shouldn't have to feel bad for what your body is telling you that you need. You should have complex carbs, like whole grains (nothing white), fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. It is also very good to eat lean protein and fats (in the form of oils, like olive oil) too.

I once did Adkins and I will never do it again. My hair came out in clumps, I would get really dissy, and since I wasn't getting enough fiber I was constipated all the time. Just the constpation alone is enough to show someone how unhealthy it is (imagine all of that built up waste inside of your body contaminating your organs). When people first start on Adkins they think it is great because they lose a lot of weight at first, but that is just water weight (increasing your water intake decreases the amount of water your body retains). Also, I know what it says in the book....how everyone has it wrong, and low/no carbs is the way to go, but have you guys heard how Dr. Adkins died???? He had severe heart problems, he was really overweight...etc. (I don't remember the whole story, but I will look it up some other time and let you guys know).

Hopefully everyone will start showing up.

Just a quickie note here before I brave the cold and jump in the hot tub ....

Sheridan:
I am not doing Atkins but am trying to do low carb ... I do have veggies and never eat white bread, but do have wheat sometimes ... I am just trying to stay away from the sugars ... my stomach feels so much better when I leave out the sugars and breads and starches. Oh yes, and I do have fruit occassionally too. I do have to watch my dairy as I am lactose intolerant, but I love love love dairy.

Debbie:
Whohooooo! 2 more lbs! Good for you girl ... 13 lbs is fantastic .. me, I'm the same but watch out cuz when I start there will be no stopping me! lol ... keep up the good work.

OK ... here goes ... a quick run onto the deck - throw off my robe - and jump into my hot tub ... 104 degrees - gonna feel soooooo good!

Later...
Love, CJ

Sheridan- Welcome! Nice to meet you! Don't feel bad about the obese thing, according to my doc, I'm obese too. I'm 5"2, but even when I was 191, I didn' look "obese".
I'm not on atkins. I like bread. There's no way I could do that!
Dibbie- Congrats on the loss! Yay!
We're waiting to here from the landlord of our new place so we can get moving. Hy wals and shelves are empty and bare here! I just want to MOVE!

I went to post the other day and I guess the server was doing something or other and we could only read the post. I think it was Saturday and Sunday maybe. So that may be why we haven't so many posting. But it is up and running again so hooray!

Sheridan-A great big welcome to you. We are so happy to have you with us. Thanks for telling us a little about yourself. You daughter, Megan sounds smart and adorable. I bet you really enjoy her so much. We have 4 children and they are pretty much grown and on their own, but I was so glad I took the time to enjoy them cause now I have all these wonderful memories, because they grow up so fast.

Sherry-What a great friend helping your friends move in their house and painting, cleaning as well. How did it go o n your weigh in? I hope things went great. It sounds like you have been doing good and really trying. Let us know how things went.

Mel/Allensmom-Congratulations on you new niece Rowen, how exciting that is for everyone. Good jon on getting back to where you were before vacation too and than some, goodness 20 pounds gone is wonderful. Good luck with you move too, I know you are itching to get out of your old place.

Debbie-Great job on getting those 2 more pounds off. You have done so well losing 13 pounds and just since the end of January too. Keep on doing whatever you are doing, it is working. Sorry you had a bad Monday, did today go well for you at school?

CJ-Good for you not feeling guilty about the dinner with the pasta bar, it doesn't seem like you did too bad at all. I too try not to feel guilty, even if I do go off program. I just tell myself, I enjoyed it, I felt it was worth it and now it is time to work really hard and go back on my WW program. I feel if I felt really guilty I might just say the heck with it and go crazy, which is why I won't let myself.

Well everyone, better go and get things done. I have to work today at 3 PM and want to get some things done. Talk to you guys later.

Love you guys, Sassy Sharon

Peek-a-Boo. I posted back here at the end of November. I was moving to Iowa from Vermont. Well, things have been so crazy I haven't had much time to do alot of posting between trying to find work, living with my parents, dealing with the ex husband. We don't want to go there. I tried to post early and my internet went down so I lost my whole post.

So here I am again. I have some catching up to do on reading the posts. I hope you are all doing well. I am working as a receptionist at H & R Block. Obviously, it's only a temp thing, but I have an interview scheduled for this Thursday for another receptionist/office job so I am hoping I will get that. Keeping fingers crossed. Wish me well.

I haven't been doing well as far as dieting. I have been just so stressed that it has been the last thing I have be thinking about. I have been wanting to start getting a pay check so I can start buying myself some healthier food. I hate asking my parents to buy it. I hate being a burden to them. I can't wait to get a place of our own. It's going to be great. I have to say that we have a women's gym in town. It's just like a Curves, just doesn't have the name. Guess it was going to cost to much to use the name. But I am really hoping that I can join when we are more settled with things. I really want to drop 30 pounds by summer. Preferably more, but any amount will make me happy.

Well, I am at work. I just wanted to say hi to you all. I hope to jump back in and get to know you all.

Hugs, Annie

Well I am official out of control. I have been eating like there is no tomorrow. I haven't figured out why yet, but it has to STOP NOW!!!

For my first resolve... I will come here and post daily!! That in itself should be a great start!!! Why is it we leave all our friends and go into a cocoon when we need them the most!!! Doesn't anyone have an answer to that one!!!

I refuse to lay down and let the fat take over. I have taken the first step in admitting I have a problem and that I am out of control. Now ladies, help me run the gauntlet to lose this fat forever!!!

As they say this is the first day of the rest of my life!!!

WTG Debbie on your weight loss. I am proud of you!!!

I will take the time to read the posts closer tonight when I get home from work so I can catch up with everyone else. I need your help so I need to be here and often!!!

See you later ladies. Hope you don't get tired of me.
