Linda! Holy cow! I'd be scared to death. Thank God everyone is safe! Will your mom be staying with you for a while?

Yesterday I found her a nice little fully equipped vacation condo type thing at a beach resort about halfway between her house and ours. It's got everything she needs for now and is rather posh, but she does have insurance coverage for that part approx. $13,000 is the limit. However at $1,300 per month we won't have that much time to get a new home built or bought (hopefully it will be MUCH faster than that!)

I wish she was staying with us...but we don't have an extra bedroom, and I really don't want her to sleep on our old couch when the insurance will pay for a nice place.

How scary for everyone! It's been raining so much here in the Pac NW that downed trees and landslides are really a problem. Glad she's got insurance coverage for a rental, and hopefully she can find a new place soon.

Sounds like the temporary living arrangements are quite nice and that the insurance company is on their toes. Hopefully everything else will fall into place just as smoothly.
