Talking I am so relieved

Figured I would start it out right with a dancing carrot.
When TOM hit me this time (it's the first one since the miscarriage so it's been different all around). I lost a ton of the energy I had, I was back to night binging, and I just didn't care that I wasn't exercising. In the back of my mind, I was afraid that it wasn't TOM but me not wanting to do what needs to be done to get healthy (exercise and eating right).

Last night my energy levels came back, I was looking forward to exercising and I wanted to get my cluttered living room cleaned up Although I didn't get to walk during Survivor like I had planned I was still determined to exercise. As I was riding my bike and walking afterward it hit me that it probably was just TOM making me feel the way I have the past few days and now that it is almost over with my renewed sense of wanting to be healthy came back. I'll be more prepared next month for it.

that's good news, Dawnyal.

seems to me like tom sure can throw in a monkey wrench to the weight loss equation sometimes.

you're workin' it!

I'm exactly the same Dawnyal - usually for me it's the week before TOM when PMS has hit hard - I just have no energy and I'm always hungry! I've learnt to accept that I am never going to be perfect during that week, so it's damage limitation, but I try to keep up the exercise as much as I can as I usually feel better for it. It is amazing how my mood lifts and my energy returns on the second day of TOM - I feel like a weight has been lifted and I am no longer walking through mud!

The only thing we can do is get to know our bodies and what they need during certain times of the month - then we are not driving ourselves crazy with guilt and worry about something that is completely normal!

Glad you are back on top form now!

Love Amanda x

YAY Dawnyal! Funny how you forget just what TOM does to you when you don't have it for a while. I'm so glad to see that things are getting back to normal, and that you were able to recognize the cuprit of your mood for what it was. I think next month will go much more smoothly now that you know what you're in for. Congratulations!!

Your post encouraged me, gave me hope! Good for you not letting the hormonal downswing keep you down!

What I'm going through isn't the same as what you did, but maybe we're in similar boats hormonally. I got off the pill a couple months ago and TOM's come back with such a vengeance. I had TOM while on the pill, but up until the last several months everything was regular as clockwork for me with very little cramps or problems with moods or cravings.

Now, though... Good grief. Bad cramps, bad emotional PMS. Total cravings for carbs and sweets. And it's irregular as anything, breakthrough stuff. Howie's getting tired of me saying how I miss my nice regulated life on the pill. It wasn't regulated as far as the bleeding went, but it was a piece of cake compared to now.

This, plus the shorter days and cloudy skies, have me crawling the depths this last week emotionally. I know it will get better, but right now? Ohhhh.

Sorry to waver from the subject at hand!

Thanks all for the sweet and kind words. It means so much to me. I really am trying to just take this one day at a time again and hopefully get it right this time.

How wonderful that you can pinpoint what it is causing the issues so that you can prepare. So great to hear how you got over that slump!

Might I suggest Evening Primrose Oil for next month? I have quite emotional periods and so take 4 EPO pills everyday for 3 days leading up to and the the first 2 days of my period. It evens me out quite a bit.
