Going to my dh's christmas party tonight...I've looked over the menu online and I'm going to have steak.. yummy. Question... when they say 12 oz steak... my mouth is watering...do they mean 12 oz cooked or raw?

I'm going to be guessing the rest of the food.. yikes!

It usually means 12 oz raw. Also if it is at a restaurant and you want to cut down the calories, you could ask for it to be prepared without butter.

If it is a restaraunt see if they have a website with nutritional info!

And...I believe a serving of meat is 3 oz....so if they list calories by serving, times it by 4.
