Hi everyone I am Tiffany. I am new to the board. I am not new to weight loss. I have been on the roller coaster for a long time. I am here in hopes to find support, make new friends and also give support in return. I have a membership to the y and also have a treadmill here at home. I never make it to the y because I am always to "BUSY" . The treadmill I bought because I thought I would use it if it was here. Well I seem to still be "BUSY" .. I did get on it today for 20 mins. I try and push myself when I am on it.. 30 mins or 1 mile! Today I set the goal for 20 and I was comfortable with it. Maybe later I will climb back on for 20 more... I also have a pool that I love to get in.. My eating has been horrible the last few months. I am not happy with it at all. I am trying to do better. The problem is I like everything I am not a picky eater. Today I am feeling kind of blah and tired even though I climbed on the dreadmill Yes I find it boring but I need to move! I am looking down at almost 300 pounds. As I sit here typing and thinking I know I can not continue with my weight. It has stopped me from doing so many things out of fear I will not FIT! I size up resteraunts before I go into them to make sure I will be able to sit without comeplete embrassment. Little things like that. I am not sure of a goal weight at this time, I am going to take it one step at a time. Anyway, I have gone on enough. I will be posting often I am sure.. Thanks for letting me ramble..
Hi Tiffany, welcome to the forum. This is a great place to get support, everyone's been wonderful to me since I joined at the beginning of the month.
I know what you mean about the treadmill and boredom. I feel the same way about the elliptical (I don't have a treadmill at home) most days, so I usually read a book while I'm working out. Watching TV while you work out is another good way to pass the time, if you have a TV near your treadmill. I try to swim laps in the pool as well; it doesn't feel like a workout because you're not raising your heat index in the water, but you are burning lots of calories and using lots of muscles.
first of all Most of us did not start out loving exersise. At first for me it was a necessary evil. As I committed to just do it and became in better shape, I am really enjoying it. It feels good to move and it feels good to get stress out through something other than food. You can do it and it will feel good.

I've been there, done that, bought the t-shirt! I started around 300 pounds too and have lost almost 100 pounds in the past year!
As for exercise, I love what it does for me but it is still a struggle for me to get it in. I commit myself to a goal of exercise for the month. I do it in terms of minutes. I try to make it realistic for me, but it has tended to increase each month...
Try to mix up the exercise -- and if you can't now, think about the things you'd like to add. I recently added bike riding and hope to add swimming.
As for the treadmill, I have a TV in the basement with the treadmill, and when I do a workout I watch TV (right now my guilty pleasure is Season 2 of Alias). To up my pace, I listen to music on my ipod and use captioning on the TV.

Welcome to the board, like everyone has said, we've all been there. It's hard, exercise is the hardest part for me too, although there are days where I struggle a lot with food choices as well. Just read the success stories here and realize that you can do this! I look forward to getting to know you.
to the board! Post often so we can get to know you! I hear you about the excercise. What I found that worked for me was to find an excercise you love to do. Believe me, it took me a couple of tries before I got it right. Once you find what you like to do, it won't be so hard to do, and you won't be bored.
Hi Tiffany. I feel your pain and it is rough and you are definitely going in the right direction. Just keep at it and you will be where you want to be befoe you know it.

Hi Tiffany, I'm new here as well. Actually, I just joined today. Congratulations on having the courage to start the journey - together we can all accomplish great things. Like you, my weight plays a significant role in what I choose to do in life. I am also VERY self-conscious about whether or not I will 'fit' into the places where I go and I'm always worried about what people are thinking about me when I go to a restaurant. I'm tired of missing out on life which is why I am reaching out to everyone here at 3FC. I also want to provide a good example to my son so it's time for me to do something about it. I have decided that unless I make a conscious effort to change I'm always going to be too "busy" to exercise and that I'm always going to make excuses. Inspiration is a great source of motivation and I hope that we can all support and inspire each other to achieve our goals. Good luck and I look forward to our journey together.
I'm not new but I haven't been on here since May and I think it was a long time before that too. I sort of been frustrated with losing weight too. I lost a little, got complacent and am back where I started. I have a Treadmill in my basement and it seems to be just collecting dust. I go to the gym about once or twice a month. So I'm sick of being overweight and uncomfortable with doing things I use to. So my goal is to lose 10% of my body weight, and I am moving my Treadmill up to my dining room, extra space there. I also decided to stop trying to weight train, because I love to when I do it, but I think it puts me off from even exercising because it makes me feel wore out after. So I decided to just do a Treadmill/Outdoor Walks and a Pilates video that focuses on the Belly Butt & Thighs that I have and maybe in a couple months take up strength training. I hope to find some motivation, inspiration, and encouragement by coming back to this board as it did for me in the past. Hope to see ya round the board!
