Default Ladies- TOM question

When do you see your water gain? I woke up feeling bloated on Saturday and its getting worse and no sign of my visitor yet. I have been irregular due to my weight but just wondering if you have weight gain/ bloat a week before or right before?

How much is your average gain?

I dont know if it would be a week prior (I had a partial hysterectomy) but once a month I show a 4lb gain, even though I KNOW I didnt gain 4lbs...then within the week it is gone so it must be TOM water weight gain....good luck

I used to gain, oh, 1-3 lbs. sometime the week to a few days before TOM. I went on the pill and now I always gain 5 lbs. within a day of TOM arriving, and then the day it leaves, wooosh, the weight is gone.

I usually weigh-in once a week, but I've decided I can't weigh in during TOM. Even though I know the 5 lbs is due to water I just can't handle seeing such a high # on the scale as compared to the week before.

Same here.I don't even worry about the scale the week before and the week of my period, otherwise I'd be in tears. One thing that has helped me not feel as bloated though,is drinking lots of water. The more I keep up on getting in all my water, the better I feel when the TOM comes.

It's a few days before and during TOM of me, and seems to go away at the end. My periods are irregular though (PCOS, possibly), and of varying intensities, so it really does depend. For me it's just a couple of pounds that I notice, 1 or 2.

I gain between 2-10 pounds, depends. I bloat like CRAZY, it's just not fun, I have certain pants I can only wear.. I hate it! I usually start to gain 2-3 days before it starts. Ahhh TOM, it's so aggrivating at times!!

I don't tend to see a gain as such, but I lose very quickly immediately afterwards so I guess that I gain water as I lose fat which makes me think I've not lost for a week or so when I have, but it's been disguised. So I don't know exactly when it arrives, but it's not uncommon for me to go down 4 - 5lb in the space of the next week.

I am pretty similar to YP1 - I stay the same, or have a small gain for the week before - then usually have a big loss as soon as TOM is over.

You poor people who gain up to 10lb!!

Love Amanda x

ditto.
Last month I gained like 9 pounds. I measured my tummy during TOM a copule of cycles back and had gained 8 inches overnight.
