Unhappy Thoughtless eating

I am so angry with myself!!!!!!!!!

I came to work this morning and ate my very delicious high fibre muffin and enjoyed every moment and logged the points for WW. And then I swear, I was dazed and when I came to, I was 3/4 of the way through a 2nd muffin.

How do I not notice that I am eating?!?!?

The better question is: how do I identify why I do this and change it?

Trudi,

Don't beat yourself up. 3/4 of a muffin extra, especially high-fiber, can be fit into your eating plan easily. Just add the points to your day, it's not too many. Now, I have always had problems with portion control myself. My solution has been to measure out the portion, or take out the muffin, etc. and put the rest away (preferably far away) before I start eating. That way it's a lot harder to reach for extra, and it has to be a conscious decision to get up and walk to the kitchen, or open the drawer to my desk at work. Sometimes that still doesn't work for me, but if I'm having a rough week then I'll stick to pre-measured 100 calorie packs or foods packaged in individual portions. It's more expensive for my budget, but much nicer to my figure. Good luck!

I don't know. I have the same problem. Wednesday I was cleaning the kitchen up & the next thing I knew, I was standing there eating a bag of chips that one of the kids left out. I don't think I ate very many of them but that's not the point!! I've done this several times. So I feel your anguish. I just don't know how to help you with it.

I have sort of the same problem I find that it helps just to take what you need and to keep the bad things out of sight. This is hard for me to do. Sometimes I think I'm in a hypnotic state when Im in the kitchen.

Thanks for the sympathy at least. Makes me feel a little less like a freak.
