Default What does being "on plan" do for you?

This week at WW we were talking about what being "on plan" does for us. I wrote what the group came up with down, so that I could remember it.

what being "on plan" does for us:
-Promotes good health
-Increases our self esteem
-Vanity (I think that was looking good)
-Feeling good about yourself
-Being in control (of more than just our foods)

It's helped me to look back at it during the week, but I thought I would put it out there to the group and see what else we could come up with?

Staying on my plan for a week...

-gives me strength and focus to do it another week and another and another.
-gives me courage to try new things and take risks
-boosts my self-confidence that I CAN accomplish these things that may have seemed so hard or even impossible at one time

When I'm on plan, it:

- Makes me feel good about myself
- Makes me happy that I know i'm working towards a life of good health
- Gives me more confidence
- Increases my energy and general productivity

When I'm off plan:
- I feel gross
- I get Depressed
- Feel Lazy

Wow, well that should be a good indicationo to me to get my *** back in gear and get back on PLAN! I've been totally off plan for a couple months now and I'm sick of it. Its definetly time to turn this around... AGAIN! I'm really sick of the "yo-yo" dieting... I have to get re-focused and remember how horrible I feel when I'm off plan.

Thanks for this thread... It really made me take a look at things!

Br00klyn, I think you're right about the way you approached it. While I don't always go in for WW's version of therapy (neither does my leader, so it's ok), this one struck a chord in me.

First, of all it's important to remember WHY you told yourself you wanted to lose weight, especially after the first few weeks, staying on plan isn't always easy.

Second, is what you tapped into, (where WW wouldn't go), what do I get if I go off? Is that what I want?

Sometimes, to me the YO-YO part is the worst, because you're up one day and down the next. I guess that's why they call it YO-YO (I need more coffee).

Good luck getting back on plan. Have a good day!
