OT-pneumonia
 

I've been sick for about a month. Early last month I got a bad case of pink eye and 2 days after that started I had chills and fever. A week after that I developed a cough which has not gotten better and over the past week actually gotten worse. I don't tend to go to the dr everytime I have the sniffles because if it is something viral there is nothing they can do for it but seeing as this has gone on for a month and is getting worse I finally decided to go in. I got in this morning and she sent me for a chest x-ray and it turns out that I have a mild case of pneumonia. Also they are sending me for a CT scan because there is something behind the breast bone that they think is a small patch of pneumonia outside the lungs but they want to make sure it isn't something else that might be nastier. I'm just so happy that I'll be getting some antibiotics and soon start feeling better. It is lousy to feel sick for a month. I've stuck with going to the gym pretty much through it all except for the week last month when I was really sick with the chills and fever and this week because I start coughing when I overexert myself and can't breathe. I'm hoping that by next week I'll be feeling better and can get back to my workouts.

Oh Jen, so sorry to hear you've been feeling crummy. I remember you posting about the pink eye. Hopefully you'll get it all cleared up soon.

Jen, I can only imagine your relief to find out what was wrong with you and get some medicine for it. I'm betting the antibiotics are going to do you a world of good and you will be back to normal before to long. I'm really glad that you caught it early. Time could have made that really ugly. Take good care of yourself. :)

Aw, Jen, that stinks.....I'm really sorry to hear that you've been dealing with this for a while. I went through something similar myself this year, and it really takes such a toll, doesn't it?

Ugh! That sucks. Aren't you glad you finally went to the doctor though? I've only gone to the Dr. like, twice, in the last 10 years, but both times I was "cured" within a dayor two after they treated me. Get well soooon!!! :grouphug:

Thanks everyone! I'm still feeling very tired today and of course still coughing but I"m sure I"ll be a lot better in a day or 2 when the antibiotics start kicking in. I'm used to having a cold hang on for a couple of weeks but getting to be over a month was just too much.
