I didn't get to the 4 mile superchallenge last night. I'm just not finding the time with the kids in the evenings. I'm just going to concentrate on continuing at least 2 miles in the morning of WATP.
Well, I'm coming down with a cold, but I managed to work out this morning, anyway (it actually felt kind of good to sweat it out, but we'll see how I feel tomorrow!).
Sorry, Sarah... Hate to make a mini-challenge then leave it, but I'm not going to be able to pump up (think Hans and Franz) today. Feeling too awful, and I need my strength for a long car trip to a wedding this weekend. Maybe another week we can continue the hard core workout goal?
Ok, Yay I finally get to post on this thread. My treadmill finally is here a couple days late but that's ok. Who knew they had like 800 parts? Anyway...starting out slow, no where near some of you who are doing so great! I did 30 minutes last night at 2.5 mph, and so far this morning another 30 minutes. I'll have at least 60 minutes for today! It feels awesome to actually get this going!
Hey, Andria -- welcome to the thread and congrats on your new treadmill! I used to have one at home, and it was a lot of fun being able to watch TV and listen to my own music (read: not horrible, overloud, soulless house music like at the gym). Enjoy it; you'll make gains faster than you'll believe!
I am very pleased to report that, despite my cold AND despite the cold rain, I went to the gym and did 45 minutes of HIIT on the ellptical. Toward the end of the day, I got that weird craving feeling, but not for food -- for my exercise endorphins!!! I really am turning into a fitness junkie! My old self wouldn't recognize my new self.
Yay, me! And yay, us! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to wash the gym stink off.

Yay you, yay us, indeed! Don't you love when that happens?! I'm so proud of you for working out when you felt like crap. I really am, Jennifer! You are the baddest *** in all of the five boroughs!
Welcome to the exercise thread, Andria! What an entrance, too! Congrat's on the treadmill acquisition and assembly!
As for me, I did the 4-mile Express Challenge tonight -- I just LOVE that workout! That's Day 8 of consecutive days of exercise. 8 down, 16 to go for my EDIN challenge!
im here but barely. I missed yesterday after promising myself I would go all 7 days without a miss. I did do my one mile dvd today though. i dont know, i have been in a downward thought spiral since halloween. I will be ok for a few hours and think i have shaken it off and then the negative thoughts come back. blah
Sarah, roll your eyes at me now, but could you please give me the URL to that website on HIIT again?
Well, I started the gym this week. I had a microfit test done to see where I am at. My resting heart rate was excellent, Aerobic Fitness was excellent, Body fat is at is 26.2 (That puts me 3 pounds of fat away from the "fit category", My back flexibility was horrible, Biceps strength was excellent, and my total fitness score was 52 which is fair but only puts me off by 8 points of being in the "fit" category.
It really rocked my world when the lady doing the test was testing my thigh skinfold and could barely even pinch any skin to do it. Walking has really paid off. I've got some Killer outer thighs. Practically no fat!!
Exercise for the week:
Four days of walking: A bit over 20 miles total.
Four days of the gym: Rougly an hour and a half each time of cardio at the beginning and weights proceeding.
I used the elliptical for the first time this past week. I love it!! You ladies who use it also, how long is your average mile on it? I so love that machine better than the treadmill!!
Tammy, I usually use the cross trainer but its similar, my average mile is about 10 or 11 minutes, a little bit more on the elliptical. I agree- I like it SO much more than the treadmill. Glad you found a new machine to have fun on, haha.
Friday: a little stretching, a little walking--very light day
Saturday: 1 hour combo water aerobics, 20 min. stretching
Sunday: 2 mile WATP, 20 min. stretching
