Default Purdue gives Pros and Cons on popular diets

I know from time to time we all try a new "diet" no matter how much we have heard that this needs to become a new lifestyle and not a diet.

On Purdue.edu I found a database where they give you an overview and pros and cons of 54 popular diets. Thought you might find it of some interest.

Click on Health and Weight Reduction Diets

Then Click on For a list of all items available in the database

The Secret is: CONSISTENCY

I'm running out to buy the "Fight Fat After 40" book! The overview shows all pros and no cons and the "diet" looks like it can be used easily in conjunction with the Weight Watchers lifestyle. Interesting, I had an inkling I might be a stress eater

Thanks Sandi, as always! xox

It's interesting how many diets have *NOT ONE* "pro" listed for them, but a whole sheet of "cons."

Interesting. I see SBD isn't listed though, I would've liked to see what they say about that!

Thanks, Sandi.

Looking at the different pros and cons, if it doesn't follow the food pyramid, it seems to not have a lot of pros. I was suprised that BFL had NO pros even though it is a healthy eating plan.
You can't out-exercise poor eating habits.
