Default yikes!!

Okay, so I've been thinking, dreaming, wishing to do something for quite a while, and just figured I didn't have the means to do it.. because of where I live. Anyways!! I'm babbling, but I just found out that the Ford Modelling Agency has a talent place right in Vancouver. Thats scary. So I've wanted to model probably my whole life (don't most girls?), and I almost think I could do it (I used to model a tiny bit when I was younger)... and that scares me. But what have I got to lose? I'm excited, scared, nervous, and happy all at once! I don't feel confident enough to tell anyone in my life, I sorta mentioned it to my boyfriend, he says he thinks I could do it, but also understands where I am coming from when I say I want to get to a 14-16 before I give it a go. Of course he thinks I'm beautiful and hot no matter what.. ARGH!! Anyways, I just needed to let that all out, it's been inside me for almost a week now.. I was feeling ready to explode! Thanks for listening/reading.

That is exciting! I'm happy for you. I used to do a lot of Plus Size Modelling when I first moved out West when I was 18. At that time, they said I was the "perfect" size for it, as I was a size 14-16 and 5'11 so you're definetly on the right track. The one major thing they will still look for is even though you're "plus size", they still want you to be healthy and be toned. Just my two cents.. If you have any questions, or need any advice - I'd be happy to help out. Just let me know! Its something I would love to get back into too, but I need to be down 2 sizes first.

Check out this link! There are always open model calls all over Canada for Plus-Size models and Wilhelmina (based out of the US), helps sponser them. Be sure to go to one of these if you hear about them.. They have Scouts from all major agencies and they offer tons of great advice and resources.

OMG! I totally need advice, and help.. I'm kinda freaked. When I was younger I just fell into everything, I barely even remember HOW I got any jobs, I just know I showed up, put on certain clothes and did what they said to. But am I tall enough? I'm just like 5'7" maybe 5'8" on a good day, I have a ton of insecurities running through my head right now.. how fit do I need to be? What if I chop off all my hair? Is there such thing as TOO toned? Too short? Would being in the USA be helpful? Because I have a very helpful brother in Seattle who recently offered for me to go live with him. Uhm.. and dumb question.. how do you know if you have the right "look" ?? I have a way to go before I am physically ready, I'm currently about 263, and would need to be about 200-210 to be a 14-16. Thats like 63-53 pounds! Feels pretty far away right now..

Just my two cents: if you don't give it a go, you'll wonder what would have happened. You never know what to expect, if it's something you're serious about you should really give it a try.
