Default What's For Dinner?

I'm thinking about a light tuna-salad stuffed into green peppers. (Thank you, Rachael Ray!) How about you?

I'm not sure what I am having yet. My daughter has a program at school so it is going to have to be something quick. I don't want to wait til we get home to eat because it will be to late. I might broil some chicken breast and have greenbeans with it. Gotta loves those french style greenbeans. You can have a ton of them without many calories and other junk.

You know what... I wish I would have stuck with what I said I was going to eat.. (I usually have one higher calorie day during the week--- PLANNED... SO I guess that yesterday was that day). I got home and DH wanted to go to dinner with parents. SO we go to a local diner, I got a tuna sandwich, took off the top piece of bread which wasn't so bad, I had a salad before that. OK.. that's do-able, I know the mayo has tons but I figured 500 calories for the sandwich.. THEN... Do you think I would just stop there? I was at my goal for the day! OH no.. The DH goes to Dairy Queen. So I got a small vanilla cone for only 230 calories. I was not too far over the limits for the day but I wish I would have skipped the DQ.. Oh well.. I am with you today Amy Jo.. Salads all the way...

Well, I have a confession also. I was doing so well yesterday. Staying on track and being below the calories I go for. Well, My husbands gradmother sent a goody box with all kinds of sweets in it. I passed up the cookies, the cinnamon rolls, but there were brownies. Grrrrrr...I had three slices of brownies!! I was so mad at myself. But, I am back on track today. I have not mastered portion control with sweets at all.

Well, I've just come back from a saintly jaunt up North, visiting a project with my new boss (don't start my new job until August, but I was doing them a favour.....). Anyway we stayed in an extremely nice hotel, with a truly great restaurant.....and last night I had melon and berries for starter, turbot for main course, fruit salad for dessert, and water water water. And breakfast was fruit salad, yogurt and scrambled egg.......Sometimes I scare myself with my saintliness, LOL!

Claire, You are doing so well at self control when it comes to your food. It's really hard when you eat out, It's great that you have mastered the art of eating healthy while eating out. Keep it up!

I made meatloaf today out of ground turkey and ground turkey sausage. 325 calories a slice. I have not cut it yet so it may be less depending on if I get 10 slices or 8.

I had Parmesan fish (even fish haters love this!), asparagus, a small potato with light sour cream, and a Smart Ones fudge bar.

Today I did much better... I had my Special K Cereal Bar for Breakfast, For Lunch: Fire Grilled Garden Chicken Salad with FF Ranch From Burger King (I love these salads only 250 cal.) I had 2 frozen strawberries and one sugar free popsicle (Its in the 90s today). For Dinner I am having BBQ chicken on the grill and french cut green beans. I thought I was having this on Monday but my lovely husband decided to change plans on me!

Hey guys thanks for all your supportive comments.....it means a lot to me. Its true, I do seemed to have learned the art of enjoying healthy eating - I think that succeeding on this journey means much more to me than the momentary pleasure of eating very high calorie foods. So just to continue my saintliness this week, yesterday I was in the centre of London, after a painful visit to the dentist.....and I bought a picnic lunch (chilli chicken fillets, green salad, cottage cheese and blackberries), and ate it in a park - totally delicious.......
