Does anyone do carb cycling? What's working for you?

  • Just wondering if anyone does carb cycling?

    In a nutshell what it boils down to is eating low carb one day, and then counting calories the next (low cal).... so you alternate low carb days with traditional diet low cal days.

    The idea is that being on low carb ketogenic diets for long period works well and quickly but can also quickly slow you metabolism to a crawl. Carb cycling keeps your body at a high metabolism. This was the method used by Chris Powell in the Extreme Makeover Weight loss edition series. But the concept was not invented by him and has been used for many years prior.

    I'm wondering if anyone here follows that type of eating pattern and if its working for them?
