Hi Martine! Nice to see you again too.

Thanks RunningRedHead!

I ate out last night, but stayed on plan. The scale was up this morning, but I'm not worried about it...I'm trucking on again today.

RunningRedHead any news on why Loki was throwing up? Hope she's better today. I too hate leaving my Loki anywhere. He doesn't like the vet though, while we wait he trembles and wants to be held. The second we're done though, he goes back to his crazy, barking self. C25K sounds like a great program and the fact that eveything is gradual surely helps with building endurance. But running is just not for me at all.

After work yesterday, I was not feeling up to anything again. I did finally get up off the couch to cook a healthy meal at least. This morning I walked 3.3km and plan on more later. Back to the grind.

01: 3.3km walk
02: 4.3km walk
03: 40 minutes cardio
04: 3.3km walk + 35 minutes upper body workout
05: 34 minutes HIIT
06: no exercise
07: no exercise
08: 3.3km walk

Congrats on eating on plan at a restaurant Angie, that is hard for a lot of people.

Martine you are doing great with your exercise! Congrats on getting a workout in this morning. I've been going every day this week but I am dragging at it! lol

Plateauing I think maybe, I lost nothing just vacillating with water weight since August 29. I think it takes 3-4 weeks of no loss to call it a plateau though. I've been eating on plan, measuring food, and exercising daily, doing everything I can. It sucks because I am 3.6 lbs from losing 100 pounds and 7.6 lbs from no longer being obese, and I really have been good trying to reach those goals! It will happen again I am sure. At least I didn't plateau before getting under 200 lbs for a while!

I hope you all are having a good month!

Traveller you are so consistent and working hard, those 3.6 pounds will be gone soon and you'll be celebrating reaching such a tremendous goal. What exercise are you doing to help with weightloss? Doesn't metter if it's done in the morning or at night, you're on top of this.

No exercise for me yesterday for two reasons: just could not get up at 5am to exercise before work and afterwards, I was pooped and hubby had made me a special meal for my birthday (yes I had cake), so the motivation was not there at all. Back at it today. Hope everyone is enjoying a great weekend!

and happy Sunday!

Sorry for being MIA the last three days. It's hard to believe the week began with a holiday! Last week seemed very long and I had a number of different meetings (including a dental cleaning) throughout the week that chopped up my days so I felt like I got very little accomplished. Yesterday we had our all day peer retreat. For those reasons I'm at work today doing odds and ends. Now that September is here the days go by much more quickly and the demands increase significantly from July and August. Tonight I need to make an appearance at a welcome dinner for transfer engineering students who are doing a two-week summer bridge program before they officially begin classes on September 27. Admittedly, I am and my has been hit and miss and anyone's guess.

, Martine! How lovely that DH made dinner and that you had It's your birthday for goodness sake!

Traveller: Sorry about your plateau. Weight loss can often be a mystery and inconsistent even when you aren't. Stay the course. You've been very successful and there's no reason to believe you won't continue to be or that you have to do anything drastic at this time.

Angie! It's nice to see you. It's been awhile!

RunningRedHead: How's Loki? Any word for the cause of the throwing up? BTW, it has taken me this long to realize that both you and Martine are proud Loki owners/parents!

gulfmagnolia. I hope those 3 pounds slide away as quickly as they appeared.

Martine I usually go work out right after lunch or first thing in the morning (after a café au lait!). Happy Birthday!

GulfMagnolia I hope you lose soon. Keep doing the right things and its bound to happen.

CurvyNotLumpy Work sounds really busy for you. I used to work for a university and loved it. College of Education for me though, as a marketing specialist.

Just a quick drive by to say . We have our non-traditional student (+25 years old) orientation all day tomorrow. Our peers have been busy creating packets and getting gift bags ready for the students. Busy bees over here. September is a jam-packed month so I'll be in and out of the thread, hopefully most days. Per usual, I'll continue to lurk.

Wishing everyone well!

curvynotlumpy sounds like this is an insanely busy week/month for you. Hope you are finding some time to take care of yourself a bit.

Thank you for the birthday wishes

So after a couple of days of not sleeping well at all and not having any energy or patience to exercise, I finally had a good night's sleep and got up early to work out this morning. I have a busy next couple of days, between work and having to prepare food for our social committee's apple-themed meal on Friday. I'm doing 3-4 things, I feel like I'll be cooking forever lol

A funny conversation I had with my manager a week ago. I'm an operations manager, I work mostly in the office. The other day he asked me why, when my work was finished, I wasn't on the sales floor more often. I told him that between taking care of the social committee, the health and safety committee, keeping an eye on the loss prevention committee to make sure they get their tasks done, taking care of the Joy Project initiative and managing all employees who make mistakes at the cash registers/managing my own employees, that on top of my own tasks, my job is never done. On weekends I am at frontline, so that's 2 full days where I don't get to work on my own tasks. I think I do more than enough. I think he got the message.

Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

and good evening!

I've been up since 4:30 this morning so I am but very content. Our non-traditional student orientation was a major success and students were very thankful to have been there and received the information and attention they deserved. Certainly, there are areas to tweak but that's the case with nearly everything we do, right?

, Martine, for your excellent response to your manager's comment. Our work is very different but our positions are very similar. When I first started in this position I used to get offended when our student workers and others asked what I did. Ultimately, I'm in charge of the vision for my unit and keeping the proverbial "trains" running on time. This means I do A LOT of different things in order to accomplish this. Countless emails, phone calls, putting out fires, anticipating the needs and creating action plans for the future. I've re-gained 40 pounds since taking this position and it isn't because I'm careless with my work or employees or putting either of them last! Like you, I'm exhausted more often than not. Okay, rant over. I'm always thrilled when women (actually anyone, but especially women) have the confidence to stand their ground and maintain their civility and dignity!

and a good evening to all.

Not much to report today. The weather here has finally cooled off and seems like fall is on its way. I had forgotten how nice it is to wear a cardigan. Martine, I had a young professional visit me today for an informational interview regarding my educational and career paths. We had a great conversation and at one point she asked me what a typical day looked like I smiled because I thought about our recent responses on the thread. I liked her question. So much more interesting than, "what do you do?"

Wishing everyone a peaceful evening.

Martine darling, you've got tact. Standing ovation.

I have been walking and still getting in exercise but I took time off from my run 10k program. Picked up tonight where I left off a month ago and D4MN do I feel worked over! No wonder my body feels so different lately, jogging is one heck of a workout and I have been missing it. Vow to go back regularly as before. Even if my old workouts don't affect the scale or help me out of this stall, I feel so much better doing them. I need to commit & MAKE the time, no matter what time it is or how hellish my day has been.

Traveller you've been on my mind a lot. You have come so far and you are so close. Celebrate the moment. Take pride in where you are physically, enjoy it. Keep looking ahead of course, but give yourself the recognition you deserve for where you are. It took hard work and guts.

Curvy hooray for a successful orientation!

Can I join you ladies?
I am a long ago member who has been missing for too long.

Without posting too long a story (maybe on some other thread), the short of it is that after having way too many life events and a nutty life in general, I am no longer going to sweep my weight and health under too big a rug of reasons and excuses of why I can never make it a priority. I'm also not going to go on a diet to lose weight. I'm just going to try to make the life style change of how I should be eating the rest of my life - I figure if I do, the weight adjustment would (should I hope!!) follow.

Accountability is huge for me because it is one of the main reasons I've failed before. So want to join an accountability thread and take it baby steps at a time.
