and good evening!

The day got away from me so I'm just now checking in. I'm loving the conversation about goal/victory clothes. For better and worse, I have some really nice things at nearly every size I've been at so I have a wonderful wardrobe (or at least some foundation pieces) that await me.

More tomorrow. A peaceful evening to all

LauraRVA42011 congratulations on your clothes fitting better, a sure sign of your body transforming no matter what the scale says. And the fact that you are able to up your running intervals is a great sign that your training is paying off.

Kellet123 welcome to this thread

suzukigirl way to go in resisting the urge to eat sweets.

So we've been enjoying this great weather by going on long walks by the water. In the mornings though, because afternoons are much too hot and humid for our dog to be able to walk for long. Yesterday we went to Québec City where all along the St-Lawrence river they built a gorgeous promenade (it seems to go in forever). I'm just happy that I can walk again without much pain. But the scale is really frustrating me. A couple of times we didn't even eat supper because it was too hot and we weren't hungry, and I've been drinking more water and we've been doing all this walking and yet, the number is still up. I'm at a loss.

Hello Everyone

I made it into the 240's ..... hit 249.6 today!!!

It's been an awesome day PLUS got some GREAT news from the insurance company about all my electronics that fried out from the lightning strike. I was not sure if they would cover a power surge from lightning during a storm for electronics (as I have read many insurance companies don't) but in a week or so I should be getting a nice fat check in the mail to pay for all the stuff I had to replace! Just a side note... pay the few extra dollars for your homeowners or renters insurance policy and get the clause for full product replacement cost. If I didn't have that I would probably get less then half the amount I will be getting due to insurance companies calculating depreciation on my electronics.

Hope you all have a great day today!!!

Suzuki yay on the insurance coming through!!! Great news

Laura I thought of you tonight while going through my drawers and trying things on that finally fit. I was dancing around my living room in a cute nightie when I recalled what you said, "Not wear it in public mind you..." I giggled and giggled and then fell down...so much for sexy lingerie. Here's to all the NSVs!!! Our best friends when the scale is being a stubborn jerk.

Martine Great news about the walking and being pain free!! As for the scale, I wish I had some words of wisdom or encouragement. All I can offer is

Continuing to drop little by little, I can't wait to break through into the 240's!!! It's funny to think back to my early 20's when I NEVER wanted to be in the 240's and now I can't wait to get there. I have been a big girl most of my life but back in my 20's I would go between 220's - 230's on average.

Last night I woke up at about 1:00am and for the first time in months had a BAD craving for sweets. We had some sweet rolls in the house from the weekend, I got up went into the kitchen and picked it up. I smelled it took a deep breath and put it back, got a drink of water and went back to bed. I was soooo close to taking a bite but in that moment I thought if I am going to have a cheat meal it's not going to be a sweet roll at 1am! I'm glad I made that choice and look forward to the day I can have a sweet roll from time to time, but I just don't want to do that yet!
Great job resisting that roll. I too know that feeling of wanting to get into a size, or weight you never use to want to be. we'll make it.

I've had the same issue with the scale. Maybe your body is trying to hold onto the weight right now. You said you didn't eat dinner a few nights, did you get enough calories those days? How did the vacation go?

Good morning

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Tomorrow I'm hosting a retreat for my specific units and I'm anticipating a low-key day and getting a lot done. Our retreats used to be two days but now it seems like we have end of the year retreats for our umbrella unit (under which mine and others fall), and other initiatives on campus that folks were being "retreated out". And it's a lot to ask staff to be away from their work two days at a time.

suzukigurl: on entering a new decade! You've certainly worked hard to get there. What a silver lining regarding your and other electronics. Thanks for the great advice about full product replacement!

Martine: I know that the scale is frustrating you, but please remember it is only one data point. Clothes fitting better, and for you specifically, walking so much on your vacation without feeling much pain or discomfort are much better indicators of your progress. You've been in pain for so long that it's so nice to hear you reporting on the day trips that you and your husband are taking. It was triple digits where I live this weekend and I see lots of dogs out during my early morning walks before the heat kicks in. If I see them later in the day, they look as exhausted as their people. What kind of dog do you have?

gulfmagnolia: What a joyous vision to think of you dancing and taking pride in fitting into smaller clothes. And I'm envious that you have a cute nightie. When I was on vacation I got fitted for bras and while the sales lady was out on the floor choosing samples for me to try on, I waited in my dressing room sitting in the most comfortable and simple robe I'd ever worn. It got me thinking about what I wear to bed which is an old t-shirt during the summer and I thought, "Girl, you can do better! You NEED to do better!"

RunningRedHead: I wish you well as you fight the bad headspace you're in. What kinds of good things have you done for yourself?

Hi darlings! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm hosting a dear friend for a week, and while I'm excited I'm a little nervous too. I am so close to the next decade and I wanna be there STAT! Especially coming off of the downward spiral I had a couple weeks ago, I'm worried I'll get back there again. Gotta just keep shuffling I suppose.

Goddess glad to be of comic relief! The universe usually slaps me when I'm taking myself too seriously, ha! Luckily not too hard, but just enough to get my head right again.

Curvy I own so many pretty things. I used to FLAUNT what I had. In the past couple years though, I've been ashamed of my body. And when I'd purchase the pretty things and take them home to wear, I'd glance in the mirror and take them right back off. Horrible feelings ensued. Finally getting back to all my pretty things waiting patiently in my closet. And while there is no longer someone to wear them for, I'm good enough reason. If it makes you feel good, buy it & flaunt it! (Baggy t-shirt included)

Happy Monday all!!

Pleased to report I only had a less than a pound uptick from the weekend. Easily erased! I worked out ridiculously hard yesterday. I tried to run outside a little too late in the morning (10am) and the heat index was horrible. I had to do shorter intervals and cut the run short. Immediately hopped in my car and headed to the gym where I did strength training and an intense 5 miles on the stationary bike. Needless to say, I'm taking it easier today. Made the mistake of not timing my eating right and I was really wobbly after my workout. On to a new week!!

to everyone!!!

Onward and downward!!

Good Morning

Hope you all had a great weekend! I worked all weekend but it was very quiet and uneventful.... always a good thing when you are a nurse. My weight continues to go down little by little. This of course makes me very happy. I have been doing great with my new way of eating but I was starting to slack a little on the water. I made sure I got back on track over the weekend and I really can feel the difference when I get all my water in. Well I have to finish getting ready for work today today is my Friday

Hope you all have a great day today!!!

I hope everyone had a good and productive day. Today was my unit's staff retreat and it couldn't have gone any better. I have a small staff of 4 split between two centers I supervise and it's rare that we have time for extended team meetings. Today we met from 8:30-3:30 with breakfast and lunch breaking up the day. We had the opportunity to update each other about new ideas and processes we've adopted in each center, ask questions and discuss challenges. Everyone contributed and I'm feeling really good about our work and thoughtfulness of my staff.

Admitedly I ate too indulgently today, but will be back on track tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a peaceful evening.

Time to finish strong on the last week of the month. I can do this. I just need to stop self sabotaging when hubby is home. I need to make my plan and stick with it. Over the weekend, he bought me a pre-made salad for my lunch yesterday. If he is home, he will make my lunch salad, but he was leaving on a trip yesterday morning. I packed my pre-made salad, weighed some chicken, and took some cherry tomatoes and a banana. I dropped our youngest off at the light rail and got ready to call my husband from the car. My phone was not connecting, so I pulled into the gas station to make sure I had my phone, and I didn't need to run back to the house to get it. I stopped got out and pulled my purse from the back seat where it was next to my lunch, and I said to myself, don't forget your lunch when you get to work. So, who do you think forgot her lunch? That right, me. I usually don't eat until 1 in the afternoon, I had meetings all afternoon, and between them, I thought I don't have enough time to eat before my next meeting, let me just eat the banana. That's when I notice I left my lunch in the car. So, at four, I made it to subway and picked one of the light side sandwiches with lettuce, spinach, extra tomatoes and banana peppers with yellow mustard. It was 370 calories. I also grabbed a bag of cheetos, but I logged them too. I had left over ahi tuna, broccoli and chunky tomato sauce, which hubby made Sunday for dinner. All in all, I stayed under my calories for the day, but I bet my sodium level was through the roof. I better plan better today. I hated throwing out that chicken, but not after 9+ hours in a hot car.

Martine: Long walks by the water sound wonderful! One of my favorite places to walk Loki is by the river. The promenade by the St Lawrence sounds beautiful. In terms of the scale not budging in the right direction, I wonder (like imthegoddess said) did you take in enough calories on the days where it was too hot for dinner? Keep up the hard work and it will reflect it in time, you’re doing great!

Julie: Congratulations on your new decade!!

Gulf & Laura: Congratulations on your NSV’s, way to go!!

Gulf: You are absolutely the best reason to wear all the pretty things

Laura: It sounds like you had a great workout, that “less than a pound” should come off in no time!

Imthegoddess: You’re almost to your goal for the month, you can do this!!

Curvy: Thanks! I think it was just the daily weigh-ins and not heading in the right direction got me down, and the day-to-day fluctuations really messed with my head. Getting better now. Meeting my exercise goal of 30 minutes of 3x/week so far. Still trying to make sure I get the pup out for a walk early enough in the day.
Glad to “hear” that your retreat went well.

After a week of starting some meal replacement shakes, the scale finally budged and as celebration I went for a pedicure yesterday as kind of a reward after working a 16-hour shift the day before.

I bet your tootsies felt great getting a pedicure after such a long day yesterday. I love pedicures. I haven't had one in a while.
