kfunk today went fairly well. I did want sweets though after my outing yesterday. I did have some because if I restrict I binge. I only had a small amount (for me) and the cravings are gone for the rest the day. Will see what tomorrow brings.
Do you have a plan to survive your house guests?

Ubee Good job with limiting the amount of sweets yesterday!! I am glad that the craving went away! That is awesome that you have tools to keep you from binging, binging is something that I will always struggle with, but luckily the instances are fewer and further between now.

For the fair on Thursday I plan on sticking to a plan. There are 3 things that I really want, and I will make sure that I find those specific foods and not settle for just anything! I will also be having 2 boiled eggs in the morning and make sure that I drink a lot of water. I am a bit nervous about not having diet coke while I am there. It has been 8 days since I have had one, and I haven't been tempted yet, but I also haven't been in an environment where I would gravitate towards it. I think that I can find iced tea if I want some flavor.

I have literally no clue what the plans are for Friday and Saturday. I am trying to figure that out so that I can plan accordingly. If we end up going out to eat I will pull up the menu and find the lowest calorie dish I can find. I will be checking in here often too!

boopchick you deserve a gold star for this challenge!

Kfunk I have to ask, what are the three things? Also, LauraRVA has taught me that the first bite tastes way better then the last. Maybe you could share the 3 if they are above and beyond healthy?

Ubee cheesecake, fries and fried pickles (cream cheese inside). I plan on sharing everything, I would be way too full otherwise!! I just wanted to make sure to focus on only the things that are "worth it" to me!

kfunk the pickle sounds so good. I had never heard of that before. Is it a special kind of cheesecake that makes it so tempting? Fries? Are they made a special way? Sorry, I am a foodie and always very curious...

ubee I have never had cheesecake from the fair before, I am not sure what they do to it, but I hope its basic. I just love cheesecake and if I am going to endulge in a treat then I like to eat that instead of something that is less exciting to me! The fries are thinly sliced potato slices (think huge waffle fry without the cut outs) and they fry them and have sour cream, nacho cheese, ranch, etc. for toppings. They are really good!! They are huge though, and come on a plate of 4. I will probably eat 1 of them. If for some reason I decide against them (if other people wont share with me, instead of throwing the rest in the garbage) I will opt for regular French fries. They are just salty and cut a bit bigger, nothing too fancy, but they are good!

I found out that tonight and Saturday night my inlaws are staying at my mother and father inlaws' house. They might stay with us on Thursday night, but we are playing that by ear, and they will be staying with us on Friday night. Having them stay with us 2 (maybe 1) night should reduce some temptation for me! I have been really slacking on my workouts. I am going to try to get it in tonight, but I struggle when I get home from work, so tired! I have to do dishes, wash their sheets, vacuum our lower level and clean 2 bathrooms. Plus, I really should try to get more paint up on the walls in our master bathroom... my husband will not be home until very late tonight, so we will see how I do.

The scale finally moved back into the 180's for me this morning! I am hoping that it sticks

kfunk sorry I have been missing. How are you doing? How is your plan working. Stay strong. You can do this. You have worked so hard to get into the 180's. Enjoy yourself and do the best you can.

Hi darlings! How is everyone? I read back through the last two pages to catch up, but all I could focus on were the words 'cheesecake' and 'fair food.'
Easily distracted.
Hungry.
That is all.

ubee I am glad that its over now. I don't think the past 3 days could have gone any worse. Once I convinced myself that I was having a "cheat day" I threw all caution to the wind. Its glaringly obvious that I still have major issues with food!! I am really excited to be back on plan though. How have you been doing?! I am off work until the 6th of Sept. and I am planning on doing IF during that stretch. Not sure what my window will be, probably 16:8, or 8:16 (not sure which way it goes, but 8 hours eating, 16 fasting).

gulf can you tell me more about the plan that you are following? You are probably sick of hearing this from me, but your numbers are AMAZING!!!!

My food has been way off. Like embarrassing off.

I will never, EVER tire of praise, ha!

- MyFitnessPal to track calories (moving onto Macros soon).
- Run10k app to jog/waddle/fall down a lot in my neighborhood.
- Yoga dvds from Walmart (but only in my living room with 911 on standby.)
- Food: eggs, oatmeal, chicken, chunk light tuna, deli meat, raw vegetables, steam vegetables, raw fruit, whole wheat bread, black beans, brown rice, vegetable soup, light yogurt, mozzarella string cheese, unsweetened applesauce, plain popcorn, fiber bars, protein bars, Diet Coke, plain black tea, and Pickles (i love them and will not give them up. Sodium be damned.) Mostly I buy organic, not sure why. I use dry seasonings only, no prepared condiments, no oil/butter/salt/sugar. I don't have designated cheat days because I cannot be tamed. I don't have emergency stashes of sweets because I cannot be tamed. If I catch myself uncontrollably overeating something, I take it to work for the break room and don't buy it again. All that to say, I do eat cupcakes and sup with coworkers and host visitors with food free-for-alls when i can. I just don't have any reason to regularly & eating out alone is sad. These are foods that I like, are easy to prepare, easy to track, and are affordable for me. I will absolutely broaden my horizons later on, but I cannot be trusted alone yet so this is what I've chosen for now. I mess up a lot. I really like birthday cake and fried chicken and fries. It is an imperfect process, but the forum makes it bearable.

Honestly darlings.....
I moved here to be with beloved ex, but now he is gone and I am alone here. I am hurting & coping. I exercise to stay out of the house - exposure to nature is supposed to squash repetitive negative thoughts and I can't get a prescription for Lithium. I do yoga at 3 am because sleep is fleeting. I work 7 days a week so that I don't have to think. I plan/weigh/measure my food meticulously to pretend I have any control over anything. In the past I coped with a straight face and all the food I could fit in it. If not for the breakup happening after I started dieting, I may have gone in that direction. But this is my coping now, I CLING to this. It's easy to stay on track when there is no social temptation, no one to cook for, and you have all the time in the world.

gulf it sounds like you are going through a lot. I am so impressed that you are continuing to eat healthy and lose weight. Staying on track when life gets rough is commendable.

As for me this challenge is not a complete loss. I have lost a little weight. I will need to lose 10.8 more pounds to make my goal for next Monday. One week to go and I am going for a whoosh!
