Default New month

Happy May, Everyone! I am happy to be here with you all and wish everyone the success they are hoping for this month.

I'm down 9 lbs. since last Monday - not sure how much of that is water weight, but I'll take it. Swapping out low carb options in place of some Medifast foods this week. Staying strong...

Jean

I just went through my final April numbers.

Only down 1.4 pounds this month. But I upped my calorie allowance to 1600 (from 1200) and I am definitely regaining lost muscle mass. So while I would have liked to have lost more I'm not feeling too bad. I was losing at a crazy unhealthy rate (while I was crazy sick) and feel like this was a necessary readjustment. I'm focused on making changes I can live with and know I have to be patient.

On a more positive side my walking numbers are looking better:
walked in February: 72.8 miles walked
walked in March: 51.6 miles walked (got my gallbladder out this month....)
walked in April: 96 miles

Here's looking forward to a great May for all of us!

Glad to see so many people showing up again in May! Weigh-in was 228.8 today. However, that miiight go back up a little tomorrow, because I weighed in about an hour later than usual due to a midday dentist appointment. We will see. Hopefully not!

221.3 lbs
I feel like my weight is being weird... HA! Maybe I just got too used to the fast drops of the first weeks and now it's finally slowing down. I have been staying on plan, yesterday I even had 250 cals left over by bed time. Maybe I have been neglecting my water intake? I do that sometimes... I guess if I keep it up the pounds will eventually come off right? I just have to keep going and not give up. It's just not very encouraging.

A new month is here... Time flies!! I feel like the year just started, but we are on the fifth month already. I need to get off my butt and start moving. I have always disliked excising, so I need to find some sort of motivation.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

You guys are great at setting goals. I just want to get back on track. So far I've eaten well since Sunday and I'm drinking more water. Small steps. I went to see a doctor on Friday and she gave me anti-inflammatory medicine for a week and I have an appointment for physio on Monday. Just with the medicine I see a big difference already, a lot less pain and swelling, but I know that I can't take it for the rest of my life, so hopefully physio will help. It did wonders for my husband's shoulder tears, he's very positive that I will see improvements very quickly. My wallet will suffer though, I have to check just how much is covered by my insurance. Have a great day everyone!

Morning!

Laura - Hang in there, you are doing fine!

Martine - I hope the anti-inflam continues working for you! Congrats on the new loss!

Casey - I hope your new loss holds for you! If not, you know it will be back off in a second.

Jean - Super great loss since last Monday! Awesome job!

Vlada - A loss is a loss! And the muscle increases are super important and help with the metabolism.

DayDreamer - I hear you on the honeymoon phase. It would be great if it would last forever, but the good thing is that when things slow down you know you are really making progress past the initial water drops. It is especially hard weighing every day because the body is insane, but we have to pay attention to the week to week and month to month trends.

Gemini6: Thank you, and I'm glad that your water weight bump is starting to come back off!

Weigh-in was 228.2 today, which surprised me since I gave into a late night snack of some dry granola cereal and some quinoa sticks last night after 11pm because I was thoroughly hangry and couldn't sleep. It also pushed me around 300 calories beyond my usual range, so I was expecting to be punished for it today. Thank you for being understanding, Scale...lol.

Martine: I am glad that at least the pain has gone down! You are doing so well staying on track!

Gemini6: Oh how I wished that was a healthy pace to lose weigh at... HA! I guess what has me going crazy the most is that in the past I'd drop A LOT more on the first two weeks. Probably age is a factor but, I have been around this weight before and made it down under 220 in the first 2 weeks. Oh well, I am ALMOST there now!! You are so well too!! ^_^ We just have to keep going and the pound will eventually come off!

opheliaphoenix: That is a GREAT snack! Kudos! I mean, I'd consider that a victory, knowing cookies or chips usually sounds a lot more tempting when I'm hangry. xD Double win for you today!!

---

Yesterday was okay, I think... Made a stew-like fish dinner, with 1/2 a cup of rice. Just before bed though, I was a tad hungry and indulged on 'a bit' of peanut butter. I didn't quite measured it or logged it, I ran my finger through the rim and noms!

22.7 lbs this morning! SO close to a new decade! I hope I will see it this week. I usually weigh myself in Kg, so I will FINALLY see 2 numbers (before the decimal point) on the scale. Under 100 kg, that is a HUGE achievement for me.

SW: 221.6 lbs
GW: 213.6 lbs
To Go: 7.1 lbs

05/01: 221.3 [-0.3]
05/02: 220.7 [-0.6]

Hi everyone!

Nichelle, I feel the same: April has zoomed by too fast!
jeanscape, nice job sticking to it and nice drop!
Vladadog, you have made consistent progress so 1.4 pounds is nothing to laugh at!!! Good job!
LauraRVA42011, I hope you are right back on track after the weekend. All the best to you!
Pacifica Bee, nice job going down!
DayDreamer26, I understand that it can get a little frustrating after you lose a lot in the beginning and when things slow down a little. On the positive side, you are still losing rather than gaining! Keep at it! Good luck! Your dinner sounds yummy, by the way!
Gemini6, a pound is a pound: water or not! Good for you!
Martine, I hope the meds and the physical therapy work for you and that you are able to overcome the pain and discomfort. Best of luck to you!
opheliaphoenix, as always, you are a source of INSPIRATION for me!! Amazing job sticking with it for so many months now and for continuing to make great progress. I wish I lived closer to you so that I could - maybe - walk with you. Geez, you are on a mission and will reach your goal before you know it! CONGRATS!!!!

Didn't weigh in this morning.
Good day eating on plan and drinking my water yesterday. Today, not so much but I have time before I go to bed.
I would like to expand my goal horizons beyond the scale. I am adding walking 100 miles this month as a goal.
I have read so much stuff about the benefits of exercising and though I hate going to the gym, I do love to walk.
I wish I had a walking buddy but for now, the TV and a good show will be my walking buddy while walking on the treadmill.
Have a great evening and day ahead!

and good evening.

Happy May, everyone! jeanscape and great to see Pacifica Bee and Nichelle back checking in. Aw, heck, this thread is awesome so I'm always happy to see everyone! I spent the day at an advising conference on campus. Lots of fun and informative but I walked a lot back and forth across campus in 90+ degree heat. I'm whooped and headed home. I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Getting back to normal. I got in 10k steps again after a week of under-performing my step-count. Plan on going to the gym after work to get back on the running track. When I look at my activity levels and realize I haven't changed my food levels (that were increased to accommodate additional activity) it's no wonder my loss is slowing to a crawl...

Happy Hump day all!! Here's to a strong second half of the week!!

curvynotlumpy, I live in a colder climate......I can't even imagine walking long distances at 90 degrees. Glad you enjoyed the conference!
LauraRVA42011, that makes sense! You had your food intake planned for a more intense exercise routine. Good for you figuring things out and sticking with it!
