Rin....That would throw me off too but I started out over 250ish and NEVER broke a scale so that tells me that it was a bad scale!!!! Keep your chin up...I don't know what kind of scale you ordered but I love mine its a smart something I ordered off amazon at around 239 when my other scale went kookoo!!!!

I got my scale off of Amazon as well.. and I started out at around 260. Also have never broken a scale! In fact, like I said, most the ones I've seen say they support up to 300lbs on the packaging. So I really, really think you didn't break it.

My scale apparently is on the heavy side when it comes to weighing people. Boyfriend's sister, mom, and now dad have all told me that it's 10lbs or so over what their scales at home say. Oh well!

Laststraw had a good point about being consistent with when you weigh. I always weigh in the morning, after I use the bathroom, and I am also always nekkid. It's suppose to be the point at which you weigh the lowest from what I've read, and because it doesn't factor in what you've eaten throughout the day it's also suppose to be pretty consistent.

The scale I got is this guy: http://www.amazon.com/Peachtree-GS-1.../dp/B005LIG10O
It sits on my bathroom floor, cause bathroom isn't carpeted and having a flat, hard surface is important!

Edited to add: Ahahaha, I just saw the reviews. I haven't had any problems with mine thus far, but yeah.. maybe get a different one, lol.

Update again: So assuming my scale does break, which reading the reviews looks highly likely.. I'll probably order this one: http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Preci.../dp/B001KXZ808

sunarie and jenjenangel027 - That's the one I ordered off Amazon! The EatSmart Precision Scale - it got good reviews and wasn't insanely expensive, so I'm hoping it works out. Yeah, I think I just need to find one spot and leave the scale, and try to only weigh myself once a day in the morning and be consistent. And thanks! I've never broken a scale either, so it really shocked me. It actually said it had a capacity of 400 lbs (lies!), so when I heard the crunch I couldn't believe it. Oh, well. Tomorrow is another day!

Rin...I don't think you broke it....it was probably a faulty that already had a crack in the inside part and faulty ones would break right away

220.8 today....don't know if I will pull out of the 220's this week but it would be nice

Jenjen - That's awesome! Just a little bit more and you can join the thread where the next stop is Onederland! I'm a little jealous, but also very, very happy for you!

Rin - I agree with jenjen. I really don't think you broke it. Thing was just faulty.

I weighed in at 235.4 today, which is almost a 2lb loss in two days. Probably means I'll float around 235 for a few days. Gonna wait to see what I weigh in at tomorrow and then update my ticker (yay!) I'm slowly getting there. My ticker symbol should be a turtle, lol.

Sunarie....it's taken me a LONG while to get here.....I feel like a turtle too....I had to come to the realization that I wasn't going to make 199 by new years but oh well I'd rather be realistic then set myself up for a failure!

I'm still at 235.4 today, so yay! I get to change my ticker to 236 I always make myself wait two days without going back over the weight before I update it. Kinda surprised I didn't drop more.. I actually didn't eat a whole lot yesterday because I found myself just not hungry. I ended up passing on the salad I had planned for dinner and just eating a thing of Yoplait instead.

I should probably only update stuff once a week.. I guess I update more often because getting to decrease my ticker feels like a mini-reward. I've only been losing about 1lb a week, so it's almost the same anyway, lol. I joined early September, and have lost 8lbs since.

I hope you get to feeling better. I've heard EmergenC can help ward off colds. I use Airborne myself and it seems to at least shorten duration. Kinda spendy though given how many tablets are in the pack, and how often you're suppose to take it.

Have fun at the pumpkin patch, and fingers crossed it stops raining.

236.6 today. I believe in miracles.

I just want to see the lower 230s and I'll be happy. Till I get to 229 of course.

Love reading your updates!

Weight is at 238 again. Monday night I ended up falling while out on a walk at with dd. I ended up in the ER and have a knee sprain. So exercise is out for a couple of weeks at least. I got bummed on Tuesday and ended up eating a few things I should not have but back on track now.
You can call me Jayne. Jilly is actually my last name and my nick name is Jillybean with a lot of my coworkers.

Congrats on 236.6 Laststraw! You're gonna fly by me if you keep that up

Sorry to hear about your fall Jayne. I also hurt myself yesterday morning, though not bad enough to go to the ER. Just twisted my ankle because I slipped going down the stairs. It's actually feeling a lot better today, but I'll probably still wait another day before I start any exercise up again, just to be on the safe side. I hope your knee gets to feeling better soon. Not being able to work out when you're in the mood to is a bummer.

I'm up to 235.7 today. Not a huge gain, still under 236, so yay for that. Son is here for the weekend, his dad brought him over with a bunch of snacks cause I guess he was complaining my house didn't have any.. go figure.

Jayne sorry to hear about your fall....hope you feel better. Just know losing weight is 80% diet so try not to get to frustrated about resting on the exercising!

Laststraw....great job...see you CAN do it!!!!

Sunarie....hope you see another drop soon!

For me well....I am excited to weigh in tomorrow....hoping to be below 220 but if not I know I will be close...ready to be on the teen train that leads to ONDERLAND!!!!
