Hello everyone! I'm 24, I love cats, and I'm obese. I figured I should get right to the point! I posted here a few times a while ago, but I didn't really stick with it so I'm really committing myself this time. My goal is to lose 120 pounds, which will put me at 160 and then re-evauluate from there. I have some serious issues with portion control and binge eating, so I'm hoping that using the MyFitnesspal app will help with that as well as heading on down to the "chicks in control" forum. I'm excited to do this journey with you all and hoping that I can give as much as I receive in these forums!
Hi, I am new also. I have tried and tried to lose weight, but it seems I lose the same 30-40 lbs over and over again. I have decided to commit to a 100 lb loss this time. I have stopped saying " i will try" and have started saying " I will" Maybe we can help keep each other motivated
This is a great forum, with great advice and great support. I deal with binge eating, too. But this forum can really help keep me focused and moving forward. It's great to have you both here.
Best advice I can give you is don't be one of the thousands of people who make an account, write that they are in it for the long haul, and then never show up again. I did that. I did that like 5 times I think. lol Stick with it! Trust me it's worth it! I'm 27 pounds down and feeling so good, I'm excited to see how I feel when I hit 175. You get used to the lifestyle. It become second nature. You can do this!
Hi and welcome, fellow newcomer (and cat lover, haha). One of the best tools for weight loss is a support group, so if we stick together we're sure to get results I look forward to hearing your success story!
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement! I plan on popping by the forums quite a bit as my journey progresses. For awhile I will have to be going by scale-less until I have the money to buy a new scale since mine broke. I'm a student so funds are short and I prefer a high-quality scale, so I'd rather save then get a crappy one and have it poop out on me early. So that means I will need motivation and commitment that doesn't come from the scale.
I'm excited to be doing this with you all!

If you don't have one already you can get a measuring tape from the sewing department for a couple bucks. I love mine. It's a better indicator of weight loss anyway. I measure myself every week and keep records of inches I've lost.

Tape measures, and progress pictures are EXCELLENT!
I use those along with the scale to see the progress.
Remember, inches are public... only you see the number on the scale.
(and if you couldn't guess by my picture, I'm also a cat lover, and that is one of my two furbabies)
I have a measuring tape and I plan on taking progress pictures as well. And I'm kind of obsessed with cats so it's nice to see other cat lovers here as well.
Hello, I'm new too and I notice we have the same goal and starting weight! I'm starting today and focusing on one week at a time. I can't even imagine how long this is going to take but I'm determined and trying to stay positive. Let's do this thing! Think how proud of ourselves we will be when we reach our goal. I love kitties too! I have two- Checkers and Grendel
I'm a return newbie after having babies and letting life get in the way. This forum is a life saver! I do tend to come on here everyday to keep my mind in the game, I'm in week five of a very long journey
Welcome to all the newbies! Regardless of what is your tactic to lose weight the most important thing is to NEVER GIVE UP. It may sound corny, but it's the true. Hope you like 3fc. Oh, and i love the challenges in "Chicks in control".
Cats and dogs rock! I have 2 cats: Otelo and Freud. The 5 dogs names are in portuguese so it would probably be hard to explain their meanings...
