everyone

Yesterday was a wash for me. I ate too many carbs to stave off the nausea that was brought on by the headache that turned into a full blown migraine. I used to be very migraine prone, but haven't had one in months. Boy oh boy, do I not miss those! It was brutal. In any case, I'm up 1.3 to 195.3.

Today is the big flash mob day! Can't wait to tell you how it goes

Rennie--I hope the protein bars are working for you. It makes sense to have something to eat before you get home from work if that's your bad time. You could also try to have some veggies cut up so that when you walk in the door if you feel the need, you have some food that you can overeat and not "over calorie."

Kukkie--How was the flash mob? Can't wait to hear about it. I hear your frustration about the slow weight loss...I feel the same exact way. WHat I'm trying to tell myself (when I'm talking nicely to myself!) is that slow loss is better than no loss or even worse, gain. And you are in such a hectic stage of life with a little one...hang in there.

vi--you're losing weight for all of us! Great job. Keep up the good work.

I weighed on Tuesday and was up a pound after seeing the scale down over the weekend. I waited till today to confirm, and I am back at 217...exactly where I started this month. I'm trying to keep my attitude in the right place and just keep going, but it's so frustrating. But as i said above...better than a gain, so onward I go...

Hey everyone!

Flash mob was a success!!!! Everyone loved it. Our President was totally shocked; the expression on his face when our executive team (that was sitting on the stage with him) got up and joined the dance was priceless. Two days later and people are still talking about it. It's awesome.

I didn't weigh in yesterday; just forgot. Finally made it back into the gym last night. I probably could have pushed myself more, but I was exhausted. Still got in good 40 minutes of weights. I need to find my New Rules of Lifting for Women book. I do better when I have pre-planned workouts. Anyway, weigh in this morning at 195.1. Probably some water retention there. It's okay.

Vi - Great job on the weight loss!!

Kukkie - Sounds like you had an awesome time with the flash mob

Rennie - We live pretty far north, but the cold we had was unusual even here. It got below freezing a couple of nights and the leaves have started turning already. This week we are back to summer temperatures (High 20's - I think about mid 80's F.)
I hope you get those starving, craving feelings worked out. I have learned to ask myself if I am really, truly hungry before I dig in, and count to 30 before doing it. Usually works for me.

Jenni - I hear you - I feel I have been stuck in this decade forever, but I am getting close to moving on

Sarah - You hang in there, you can do this

I seem to have started moving down again - down to 160.8 this morning. I think I can smell the 150's

Vi good for you on conquering the tv/snacking. I'm still trying to snap myself out of snacking in the evening (since it't not good foods I consider it snacking) then the scale may move in the right direction continually for me

Kukkie I love the Wiggles ... Rissa and a little boy I use to watch loved them also. I like most children shows ... tons of kids Kukkie you're not doomed. We can start a true true accountability challenge on the thread if you want. How many ever pounds you have to lose by 10/19 we can all try to lose also (or whomever wants to join in can do it also) I will definitely join you. I forgot your bday was so close to my husband and sons bday, 10/16 & 10/17. Sorry the about the migraine, glad the Flash Mob went well

Jenni, Kukkie, Vi let's get this party started. We can do it.

Thanks Sarah, my issue with veggies is I don't like many of them raw. I can eat a slaw but then the mayo is a killer, I don't like raw baby carrots and the strings in the celery drive me nuts I have issues with texture and foods. The protein bars haven't been working. I may need to eat two, idk. If we start a kind of challenge on here maybe that will kick my behind into gear, idk. I did well this evening and them my daughter pulled out some goldfish crackers and BAM good day gone out the window, smh. Good way of thinking ... better than a gain.

Jenni, I have those also (the Atkins low carb shakes). The only way they work is for me to add a scoop of protein powder. Maybe when it gets cooler out I can do a little more. I'd need to have the shake, powder and shaker with me.

Jude I wonder if counting will work for me. Hope I remember to try it LOL I always ask the scale the same thing ... why can't you be .2 less than what you are

Jenni--I'm hoping you wake up today and the scale says goodbye to the 30s! Good luck!
Jude--you are also so close to a new decade. Amazing weight loss...I hope you see the 50s today.
Kukkie--The flash mob sounds like it was a perfect success! I hope the weight starts being just as successful.
Rennie--I'm in for doing a "Just for today" sort of thing for a few days to get the weight loss going again. I am going to be away for the weekend (again!) and it would help me to make my commitment here to what I plan to do. That would make me more accountable. And for you, my suggestion would be to up the snack on the way home or have another PLANNED snack waiting at home. It could be as much as a pb and j sandwich or airpopped popcorn, or whatever. My guess is that it is only part hunger and part stress-relief. So make a plan and let's check in here and see how it goes.

So for me for today I have NO plans that involve food outside of my house, which is good. I am in control of what I eat. Today I will eat well all day and I have both lawn mowing and a walk planned for exercise today. I can do this!

Sarah...you CAN do this!!!! Take one day at a time...I plan ALL meals if I don't well I know it would be a horrible horrible thing!

Rennie...thank you! I am hoping you continue on a downward slop.

Kukkie. I hope you find some peace in your day!

Vi...Tom is well sometimes so irritating...you got this though!

So it was 229.6 but I am not holding my breath I hope I can lose a little more for tomorrows weigh in...just feeling tired and down. I am going away this weekend to see my hubby he is retiring from the Army so he commutes home on the weekends. We decided to go up there this weekend so the girls can see where he works!

159.4 this morning - feels sooo good! I update my ticker Saturdays, so hope it stays down...

Jenni - Yay for you reaching a new decade too!! We just have to keep looking forward to the next one. I also plan everything I eat, and write it down, or it gets too out of control.

Rennie - I know what you mean about food textures - I am the exact opposite, I eat mostly raw vegetables because I don't like the texture when they are cooked!
