Jenni and Jude CONGRATS to both of you. Your hard work is paying off!
I did well yesterday. Tonight I'm out of town and will be eating out for both lunch and dinner. I will check in tomorrow and tell you how I made good choices.
I prefer raw veggies myself too. Plus it's healthier so win-win.
I haven't eaten out in weeks. I'm planning to go with my mom to the casino on the 1st of October and we'll most likely eat at the buffet called Fresh there. Hoping by the name they have a lot of healthy foods. lol oh well, one meal isn't going to really do that much damage. But just in case I'll work the calories around for the rest of that week to help compensate in case I go over.
Jenni - I don't exercise regularly. I walk when I can fit it in, and I also have a kettle bell and hand weights, but haven't been consistent in working with them.
I wish I could run, but about 12 years ago I had an accident while doing some water sports and tore ligaments and muscles badly in my right leg, and it has never fully recovered. I keep trying, but it is as if my right leg has forgotten what it has to do to run, so it looks more like a little hop-a-long.
I will keep trying, though, as it seems to be very slowly improving (wishful thinking?)
Up 1 lb. today, but I know it is from sodium - my fingers are all puffy this morning.
Sarah - I know you can make good choices, hope it goes well
Well, my weekend away was only okay. I did really well at lunch on Saturday, skipping the wine my friend had and choosing well for my food choice. By Saturday late afternoon things sort of fell apart. Once I said yes to wine, I started saying yes to everything else! But I rebounded on Sunday with good choices. I'm going to wait till Tuesday to get on the scale, but overall, though it could have been better, it could also have been way worse!
Down a pound from yesterday; good news but it's just losing stuff that I had put on over the last couple of days. Weighed in at 194.9 today.
This morning I started drinking the green smoothie that I used to have for breakfast when I was steadily losing weight before I got pregnant. It's spinach, banana, strawberries, flax seed and water. In the last few months months, I am finding that my mornings are hectic - between trying to get myself and Peanut ready to be out the door for 7:15 ish, all too often I don't have breakfast at home, with the intention of eating at the office (I keep oatmeal at my desk), but almost always I dive right into work and don't surface unless it's for a meeting or because the coffee is finally catching up with me. And not having breakfast is clearly not going to set me up well for the day. Soo, back to the green smoothie for breakfast. It's quick and easy and allows me to get in some fruits and veggies to start my day off right. And the flax seed really helps keep me feeling full, which will help me avoid snacking on nonsense. Baby steps, but they'll take me to my goal.
Jude--nice job on the loss. You're doing great...keep at it.
Kukkie--I hear you about losing the same pound you just gained. It's better than gaining more, but it does get old. Sounds like you have a good plan to get things going again. The smoothy sounds like a really good idea.
Weighed in and surprise, I'm still (or again) 217. Better than a gain, I guess. This week should be better because I am sure that for the whole week, I'm not going to be out of town. I am eating dinner at someone's house tomorrow, but it's a healthful meal, so that's good. Otherwise, I think I'm doing my own cooking.
I've been horrible about checking in! Five of the kids are in college this semester and computer time is limited. I got up earlier than they did today - no classes today but they will be taking over the puter pretty soon. I am at 177 today. I must like the 170's, I haven't budged from them since July. Need to either accept it or change something up.
Guess I shouldn't have expected to see a drastic change from the change I made yesterday. I'm actually up 0.1 to 195 on the nose. Serenity now. Birthday is less than a month away. Can I seriously not just lose the five lbs before then?
Kukkie - Hope it starts moving downward soon. Two weeks ago I was at a stall for a whole week, and now this week I am down almost 4 lbs!! Without really changing anything - go figure!!
Jenni - Great job on the loss - maybe you will pass 2 lbs. this week
Yesterday I was down .8 lb. and today another 1.2 lbs. Ate more fish for my protein, but other than that just stuck to my plan.
