May 4, 2011 At my Endo appointment, the Dr. tells me to work on maintenance. My maintenance range is 145-150.

NORMAL BMI = 155 POUNDS

May 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range

July 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range
August 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range
September 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range.
October 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range.
November 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range.
December 2011: Went on Vacation. Went 5 pounds above my maintenance range during vacation.
January 2012: Still had to deal with gain from Christmas vacation and allergic reaction. By the middle of the month, things were getting under control. Went 3.6 pounds above my maintenance range.
February 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range. Did not go above. Still dealing with an allergic reaction.
March 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.
April 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.
May 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.
June 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.
July 2012: 4th of July/Birthday - Went a little above my maintenance range.
August 2012: Angio Edema diagnosis/shingles - went above my maintenance range
September 2012: Still struggled with the Angio Edema and medicine for it. Above my maintenance range.
October 2012: Got into my maintenance range. Weight went back up at the end of the month due to the fair and DH's Birthday
November 2012: Above my maintenance range, but still working on things.
December 2012: Above my maintenance range. Went on a cruise.
January 2013: January 1 weight: 164 January 31 weight: 158.6 Above my maintenance range. Thyroid meds still off. Have been since the Summer, but getting better, as per Endo. Lowest weight in January 157.8.
February 2013: February 1 weight: 159.2 February 28 weight: 159.6 I was above my maintenance range throughout the month. Still working on things with the angio edema. I'm still having flare ups but I "feel" like things are getting better.
March 2013: I started March 1 at 160 on March 31 I weighed in at 159.4. I basically maintained for the month. I am not happy about that but it is better than a gain. Lowest weight in March was 157.2. Still working toward 150.
April 2013: I started April 1 at 161 on April 31 I weighed in at 158.2. I had a loss of 2.8 pounds. I feel that I have continued to maintain since my weight has been up and down all month and I have not gotten down to this year's low of 157.2 in March. Still working toward 150. I started taking the antihistamine twice a day this month. I had a 2+ pound gain overnight at the beginning of the month and woke to my left eye being almost swollen shut. I feel better since starting back to taking the antihistamine twice a day.
May 2013: I started May 1 at 158.2, on May 31 I weighed 159.8. The 3rd week of the month I changed my antihistamine. I changed to 1 Allegra AM and 2 Benadryl in the PM.
June 2013: Dr. increased my Synthroid meds again. She also advised me to start doing some yoga since I am still dealing with stress and it has continued to have a negative affect on my thyroid. I started June 1 at 159.8 and June 30 weighed 158.8. I had another month of maintaining, although, my goal is to start losing again.
July 2013: I started July 1 at 160, on July 31 I weighed 159. I maintained for another month, although my goal is to start losing again.
August 2013: I started August 1 at 159.6, on August 30 I weighed 159.4. I maintained for the month. On August 2 the Endo said that my thyroid meds were correct. She also said that it still might take a while for things to regulate.
September 2013: I started September 1 at 159.6, on September 30 I weighed 160.2. I am up on the scale a little, not what my goal is. The end of the month I had a significant angioedema flare up. I gained a few pounds from that and was trying to recover from it.
October 2013: I started October 1 at 159.6, on October 31 I weighed 159.2. I maintained my weight for another month. I had an abscessed tooth and needed a root canal done during the month. I took 1 round of antibiotics and it really bothered my stomach. I needed another round of antibiotics. This one started at the end of Oct. and will carry over into Nov. I don't seem to have the stomach issues with the new antibiotic.
November 2013: My goal was to maintain within a range since I had so many events during the month. I kept my calories consistently a little lower on nonevent days. I have also changed over to eating seafood at dinner rather than other protein sources.
December 2012: I tried to maintain my weight for December but I was not very successful. I also found out my thyroid meds are back out of range. The Dr. upped my Synthroid again. December 1, I weighed 165.6 and I weighed 170.4 on January 1.
January 2014: January 1, I weighed 170.4. January 31, I weighed 165.6. I lost some of my weight gain from the holidays.
February 2014: February 1, I weighed 164. February 28, I weighed 165.6. Not happy where this is going. Not sure about my thyroid. I had to cancel my Endo appointment due to insurance change. Rescheduled for June. Still working on things and doing my best.
March 2014: On March 1, I weighed 165.2. On March 31, I weighed 164.8. Down is down, right, LOL. Still trying.
April 2014: On April 1, I weighed 165. On April 30, I weighed 164.2. I am down .8. That's 1 pound in 2 months. Down is down, right? I also made an adjustment to my antihistamine/angioedema regimen half way through the month.
May 2014: On May 1, I weighed 164.4 on May 31 I weighed 167.4. I gained 3 pounds. Not a good month. Still working and trying to figure out what's going on. In June I will go back to the Endo to see about my thyroid meds. Still counting calories and working out daily.
June 2014: On June 1, I weighed 167, on June 30 I weighed 166.6. I had labs done. My thyroid meds are still too low and my Vitamin D levels are too low. Dr. increased my thyroid meds to 250 mcg per day and Vitamin D to 4000 IU.
July 2014: On July 1, I weighed 166.2, on July 31 I weighed 169.4.

Severe Abdominal cramping, is it related to angioedema? TTOM? If it's angioedema its intestinal inflammation. I have read about this happening. This thing always starts around 8 PM like clockwork. It will last at least until very early morning, Midnight-2 AM.

February 4, 2014 TTOM started next morning 5th
April 18, 2014 TTOM is just ending. I drank the magnesium citrate with the idea that it will relax the intestine. I was still in pain at bedtime. I decided to try a muscle relaxer. The muscle relaxer worked! I just did some googling and it appears that a smooth muscle relaxer is used for stomach pain from IBS, etc. I am using Soma, not sure what type of muscle relaxer it is. Stay tuned, LOL. I will use the Soma the next time I have a flare up. I will talk to the Dr. about this at my next appointment.
May 6, 2014 I felt the abdominal pain coming on. I took 1/2 of a muscle relaxer. I will see how that goes. ETA: This was an angioedema flare up. The 1/2 of a muscle relaxer helped with the stomach pain. Last month I lowered my antihistamines. It seems too soon to have another flare up like this but I think the lowered dose is not controlling it. I think my mall walk on Saturday triggered it this time. I could feel myself swelling while I was walking and noticed a flare up brewing since then.
July 12, 2014 Angioedema/Intestinal inflammation flare up. Took muscle relaxer. Several times this week I didn't take my antihistamines on time. I accidentally took them later than later. Was this the reason for this type of flare up?

1. 177.8 - 5 mile walk, 90 second plank
2. 180 no exercise!!
3. 180. ouch and no exercise
4. 179.0 still holding onto the water - 5 mile walk and 2 - 90 second planks
5. 177.0 today 5 mile walk on the dreadmill and a 2 minute plank (ouch)
6. 176.6 - heading out for my walk! Walk done now - 6 miles and a 2 minute plank. I also did some arm exercises with my stretchy band.
7. 176.2 - 7 mile walk today and a 2 minute plank plus a 30 second plank...
8. 176.6 - 5 mile walk/jog outside - no plank today (it's a rest day)
9. 177.0 miniature golf with the family (18 holes) not a lot of exercise but a lot of fun!
10. 181 :P too much sodium in my diet and no exercise!!

July 31 weight - 228.8

1. 225.0 (down 3.8) Have stagnated for 8 days, though, so it might stick. Or it might not.
2. 223.0 (down 2.0 from yesterday) Scale is doing weird stuff...
3. 223.4 (up 0.4) Big pancake breakfast, but restricted other meals, so calories still within range.
4. 222.4 (down 1.0)
5. 222.4 (same) Can't all be losing days, so I'll be grateful I didn't gain. Within calories range, but high sodium and low sleep, so grateful I broke even, I suppose.
6. 221.8 (down 0.6) I'll take it! Edited: AF makes her appearance at about 12:15. Interesting.
7. 221.4 (down 0.4) Finished seven (strong) gym days in a row, and my body was very sore last night.
8. 220.6 (down 0.8) Essentially took a rest day, though I did take a short walk.
9. 220.8 (up 0.2) Sigh. Did run for 1.05 miles, and then finished with walking/running intervals to get 2 miles in 28 minutes exactly.
10. 220.0 (down 0.8) So close to finally breaking through the 220 barrier! Hit the gym hard yesterday.
11. 220.2 (up 0.2) The scale has said 220.something for FOUR days in a row. Walked for 4.25 miles yesterday. I'll get there eventually.
12. 220.6 (up 0.4) Make that FIVE days in a row. To be fair, I did eat high sodium junk food before bed, so it's kind of on me. Calories were fine, but need higher quality calories.
13. 219.4 (down 1.2) It is ABOUT time! Now, the battle to stay below 220 begins.
14. 220.0 (up 0.6) Ate orange chicken for lunch yesterday. Also, walked for 3 miles and lifted weights. Heavy weights. Low-cal, nutrient-dense food today.
15. 220.6 (up 0.6) Binged for the first time since I started. Two pieces of french toast (with butter and syrup), 6 or 7 pieces of thick-cut bacon, and fruit. With a less-than-stellar run. Sad, but a lesson learned.
16. 220.0 (down 0.6) Low calories. Less-than-stellar run. Hopefully, I'll break through this rubber floor soon.
17. 219.8 (down 0.2) Will I stay below 220? Hope so. It's been 9 days of being at 220.x, with the exception of a single day.
18. 219.2 (down 0.6) I am hoping I finally shook my set point. Lifted weights at the gym. Mowed the lawn. Ate two reasonable meals.
19. 219.0 (down 0.2) Not an impressive loss, but I'll take it. Did C25K, so run/walk intervals for 1.9 miles. Then walked with the hubby for 3.4 miles. Super sore this morning.
20. 216.8 (down 2.2) And look at that. Four consecutive loss days, and today's was a big number. Starting to make up for Aug. 8-16. Lifted weights yesterday. Fairly low calories. Super hungry. Defying the serious hunger often results in loss the next day. Something to keep in mind, I suppose.
21. 215.6 (down 1.2) Really liking the scale the last few days. She's a fickle lover, but when she's on, she's on. Ate lots of spinach yesterday. And a s'more. Did Week 4 of C25K (2 miles) and walked for 3.5 miles.
22. 216.8 (up 1.2) Hmmm... I ate about 200 calories during the day to save calories for my evening meal, and I ate reasonably at the evening meal, but don't really know how many calories I consumed. But it was a lot of sodium, I'm sure. Add to that hitting the weights hard, and I'm choosing to believe this is water weight. =)
23. 214.0 (down 2.8) Guess no real damage from Thursday's (8/21) evening meal. =) Ran/walked (C25K) 2.5 miles yesterday afternoon, then mostly walked (with a few short running intervals) 4.2 miles in the evening.
24. 214.0 (same as yesterday) After being down 5 pounds from 5 days ago, not going to stress about maintaining. Had a good lifting session. A little sore.
25. 212.6 (down 1.4) Unintentionally low calorie day, even though I ate a much-coveted cookie. Also did C25K, Week 6, Day 2. 8 minutes running, 1.5 minutes walking, 10 minutes running, some miscellaneous running at the end.
26. 211.4 (down 1.2) Traveled, ate out, even had a bit of ice cream. Not sure why the weight continues to drop so well, but I'm not complaining.
27. 210.6 (down 0.8) Did a 20-minute (1.5 mile) run yesterday. Woot! Also went for a 3-mile walk. Looking forward to being out of the two-teens!
28. 210.8 (up 0.2) Mini-binge yesterday afternoon, but lifted weights later and had a light dinner. Hopefully, will go in the right direction again tomorrow.
29. 210.4 (down 0.4) Great run yesterday. Felt horrible in the evening. Not sure if it's fatigue. May take a rest day.
30. 209.6 (down 0.8) Felt sick yesterday. Not productive at work. Too nauseated to eat. Ate half a chicken breast before crashing at 6 p.m. and sleeping until 8 a.m. Feel better this morning. =)
31. 209.6 (same) Kayaking yesterday. Sunburn. Not a lot of exercise, did well with food.

Coming back home tonight from a five-day vacation to the Canadian Rockies, where we walked and hiked for hours on end. Hopefully will start August on a positive note. Wishing everyone success on their journey.

1. 183.6 Shred and 1200 calories along with a long walk with the Dog.
2. 182.6 Skipped Shred, needed the break. 1200 calories eaten LONG doggy walk.
3. 182.2 Shred 1300 calories, short doggy walk. Shark week has come.
4. 182.2 Shred 1200 calories, no dog walk. Still on shark week.
5. 181.6 Shred, 1500 calories, Long dog walk. Shark week is ending.
6. 183.4 Shred level 1 and level 2, 1300 calories, Long Walk. No longer in Shark week. Higher than normal sodium levels.

I'm ending July at 261, meaning I just hit my 5lb mark, and I'm almost out of the 260's! Here's to hoping August is successful

I lost 1/2 of my starting body weight and entered into maintenance May 2011.
Now the real work begins!

Maintenance Weight Range 150-155 <-- this was in the past, my current goal is to get back to 160 and I will reassess from there

I may make August 2015 my marriage month. If I lose 1lb a week, I could totally have lost 52lbs by August next year. A total of 62 lbs, only 10lbs from my ultimate goal and only 5lbs overweight! That would be so nice....
