Well... sometimes you are winning, sometimes you stumble and fall I guess... the weekend went horribly! We went out with friends on Friday night and I decided to have a steak- not just any steak, a ribeye! And a margarita, and some of the yummy bread and butter on the table. I treated this meal as my reward for reaching my mini goal because I do feel like if you splurge from time to time you will stay on track. That would've been fine, because Saturday I woke up down .2, so all was well. We ran around a bit Saturday, I did have meatballs at IKEA because that was all they really had and we were rushed for dinner. That wasn't so bad either. THEN, Sunday we had a wedding to attend. Started the day eating out for breakfast- I got a spinach and mushroom omelette... and a side of french toast. UGH! I could NOT resist it, I love french toast. Then, the wedding brought cheese and crackers, baked ziti, a few potatoes, chicken (fried but i only ate the inside) and a roll. The hardest part about recalling my weekend behavior is realizing that I sat there at that wedding, feeling so full I was uncomfortable, but continued to pick at that plate until I almost felt sick. Haven't done that in sooooo long. Well, I paid for all these shenanigans on the scale this morning- up to 296.0!!!! I feel like a lot of this is probably water weight, and because I feel STILL so bloated, I am willing to bet much of it will be gone in the next few days, however I am so mad at myself. Back to the gym and grilled chicken dinners this week- I have to get this back under control before it becomes an all-out disaster! Hope everyone else has a great day, wish me luck killing myself in the gym tonight, lol!

Yesterday, Hubby announced that he wanted to redo the kitchen so that we can put the house on the market and move in the next two years, oh, and BTW he has to go out of town again next week. He has since realized that maybe dumping this all on me at once wasn't the brightest idea. So while I'm not opposed to redoing the kitchen, I've wanted to redo it since we've moved in, the move was a total surprise as was the work trip. We've lived here almost 11 years and the neighborhood isn't what it used to be, but since we don't want to make a lateral move, the hard part may be finding a new place to live that we can both be happy with

Mr Scale was not as happy with me as I expected. I lost 3lbs and then got on the scale this morning to find I'd gained 2 of them back. sigh.

LGW, congratulations!

Kuukie, both our Hubby's are in the doghouse today!

Jude, my schedule has changed so much over the summer I'm having the same problem with 'what day is It?"

Hi everyone....dang last post was 7/8. I am failing at my goal of posting more often in July. These days just get away from me. had TOM last week and had my boy in Dallas spending the work week with me. We actually stayed on plan most of the time, but the weekends are still my devil. Woke up late this morning and forgot to weigh in - almost missed my flight. On the flip side (good news lol) I am going out tonight and getting a scale for here. Stopped lugging my home one with me, so I need something to see the daily progress as that seems to directly impact me. Found my log book I kept in 2009-2010 when I lost 50 pounds...getting back to that method since it obviously helped me see the losses and gain every day and it was a manual paper/pen method so I didn't have to be online.

I will read all the daily posts but just wanted to drop in and say hi

Rennie, girl I hear you. Up and down and up and down. I keep telling myself I want a CUTE patagonia pull over for winter but unless I lose these lbs I won't be able to fit into anything but a hefty bag or fleece blanket lol.

patchwork, yikes so sorry We are re-doing the kitchen too (just granite and tile backsplash and painting the whole downstairs). My boy and roommate have both been great at coordinating with contractors, etc. I feel bad since I'm always gone, but having a great support system is priceless. I know you are tough and I'm sure you husband really appreciates how strong you are.

lili, great post! Monday's were invented to get everyone back in the saddle right?? Maybe thats my problem...lol.

LGW, congrats on 230's!!!

Sarah, good luck on weigh in!

Good morning everyone!

akelly - good to see you

I'm down 0.8 to 193.1. Yay me. Working from home today, guess why? Peanut is sick AGAIN! Argh. Guess it's a good thing that I made a few different meals on Sunday night. No excuse not to eat well today.

I agreed to go to court with a friend who is divorcing after 32 years because her husband "fell in love" with a 19 year old and got her pregnant. The whole situation makes me so angry. On a better note, my friend got everything, and he didn't even get the girl. She left him.

Yesterday's news from Hubby was that our car may need a new engine.

But today absolutely nothing exciting happened which was a welcome change.

Kelly, our house was built in the 50's, the last time the kitchen was redone was in the 70's. I painted the dark cabinets but that's the only thing we've updated since we moved in. We aren't planning anything more than new cabinets, tile rather than linoleum floor, and faux granite countertops. I am insisting on an underhang sink.

Lotsakids, sounds like your friend's DH is getting what he deserves.

Donna - good for your friend. And as for the guy, karma is a you know what.

I'm down 0.2 to 192.9 today. Yay me. I was supposed to go out for lunch a girlfriend from work today, had my meal already planned based on the online menu. Only I just got an email from her saying that she didn't come into the office today and sorry for the short notice. I'm a bit annoyed because she knows I don't drive into work, so when we have lunch planned then I don't bring anything with me. So now I don't have lunch and will likely have to resort to some sort of fast food. I'm not mad, I'm really not. But I'm annoyed because I was on a really great downward trend. Argh.

Hi everyone!

Lili - good for you getting right back at it

Kukkie - Some people don't think past themselves, hope you found something acceptable to eat for lunch.

I am down to 175.8 today, and am finally off for 3 weeks vacation.
Should be able to get a lot of yard work done - I am planning on doing some "creative landscaping", so should get in lots of exercise.
I have an out-of-town wedding to go to beginning of August, and am hoping I can keep myself under control!

Penguin -- Your post made me laugh. I hope today is stress-free too!
LGW -- CONGRATS! Enjoy step aerobics, and being back at a milestone weight.

Weigh in on Tues was the same. No gain, no loss. I'm trying not to get too frustrated with myself (but just frustrated enough to DO more about it). Then last night I went on eating and drinking overload with a friend (it was really fun, but waaaaaay too many calories). This kind of thing will make next Tuesday's weigh in unimpressive. And I have a party to go to on Sunday.

Up 1.6 to 194.5. Combination of horrible food for lunch (chips, what was I thinking?) and then a really late dinner and not nearly enough water. Just have to keep going at it. The day that I give up will be the day that I fail. These off eating days are just setbacks. I will get there.

Hey all- woke up down 2.2 lbs this morning- I believe we call that a woooosh! I have FINALLY lost the rest of the weight I gained over last weekend! This weekend will be better, I promised it to myself! We do have a charity crab feast tomorrow, but crab in and of itself is not bad for me. I just have to watch for the side dishes and such... wish me luck! I really want to be down another 5 lbs. before vacation- which is in just 2 weeks! So I really need to be dedicated to reach that goal. Have a great day!
