Rennie - wish I could say it was. 196.6 today. I think it's because I haven't really been eating well while Peanut is sick. We had to take him back to the hospital yesterday and brought him home with stronger antibiotics and very strict instructions on how to keep feeding him liquids, as he's on the verge of dehydration. If we can't get a handle on it asap, the next step would be to hook him up to an IV, and we don't want to do that. So, that's where I am. He's priority number 1, and everything else will just have to wait, weight loss included.

Kukkie, trust me I understand. I've dealt with hospitalization and dehydration with two of the kids, so I know and it's sad enough when they are sick, it's sadder when they have tubes hooked up to them and you are watching them do it. I cried more than the kids did. Keep me posted I pray that he gets well Do you all have those pedialyte pops or drinks up there? Does the doctor recommend that at his age?

Jane hope the scale moves soon

I am up another pound to 164.0 today, up 4lbs from what I wanted to be for my birthday (and 2.6lbs up from Monday my birthday ). And though the day has passed I don't want to get so far off course that I can't come back. I have got to get a grip on this again. If I don't I'm gonna completely fail and I have come too far. I can't screw up now.

Default I always knew texting was a great thing :)

I found this under an http://news.health.com/2014/04/15/5-...thout-dieting/ and it all makes sense ...

1) Cheer Up
2) Slow Your Pace
3) Nibble on Filing Fruits
4) Text Your Progress (see) below
5) Go To Bed

THIS IS WHY I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A TEXTING BUDDY ... I KNEW THIS BUT EVERYONE I HAVE DONE IT WITH DOESN'T LAST FOR LONG AND IT IS MUCH EASIER TO STAY ACCOUNTABLE IMO ...

***Text your progress
Keeping a food diary is a tried-and-true weight loss technique, as recording every morsel forces you to be more conscious of what you’re putting into your mouth. But it can also be tedious, making it tough for people to stick with it. Replying to a quick daily text message, on the other hand, is much easier. In a study from Duke University, overweight women shed a few pounds by simply reporting (via text) some basic info, such as the number of steps they walked daily and whether or not they consumed fast food.

“Most people have difficulty sticking with detailed monitoring of how much they eat and how much they exercise. Try to keep tracking via text message simple, which is likely why it was effective.” To make this work for you, ask a friend, family member or even your trainer to text you a daily question about your diet or exercise goals. “Having that accountability can be incredibly helpful. ... I TOTALLY AGREE

TOM is a PITA, Jane. it always messes with my head a bit. Just ride it out and you'll see the results of your hard work soon!

Happy Good Friday to ALL

I decided to go through the thread from the beginning and see what's been going on. We are missing a lot of you and if you aren't checking in here I hope you are checking in on another thread. The accountability here will keep you motivated and it's a great help

Easily Amused, congratulations on getting those steps in What are you using to track them? I downloaded a few apps last night that I want to try.

Donna and fadedbluejeans glad to see you are checking in on your weigh in charts

Jane, hope you are feeling a little better today

katerina, nice weigh in what are you eating to get that much protein? What's your carb intake and which plan are you following? Sorry for all the questions.

Kukkie how's Peanut?

I did a lower calorie/carb day yesterday and got some of that water weight to leave. Gonna try for one more day today with better foods because last night I was hungry. I ended up eating some unsalted premium rounds. I think I would have seen a lower number had I not eaten them. But it's all good Down 1.4 to 162.6

Thanks Rennie. I use a FitBit to track the steps. And I use the Map My Walk app as a backup to track my mileage. It has lots of neat stuff, too.

You are doing fantastic! So many of you are dropping it like its hot. I'm so happy for you all that keep fighting. I'm about ready to get back into it.

Easily Amused I just downloaded Map My Walk, I'll check it out. Thanks I'm dropping water that I gained on my 5 day birthday carb celebration. I really hope to get this water weight off for good.

I was doing really well today and then my son made biscuits. I was only gonna eat the top off one biscuit (which I did cut the thin layer off) because I like the hard tops. Then my other son dropped the top to his biscuit in a pot of baked beans and he doesn't eat beans so I ate it. No I didn't have to but too late I did so now I have to add that to my calorie/carb count

I have been forgetting to post in this thread. Today has been a great day for me! I had a huge NSV today. So, I'm a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding in exactly one month. The original dress I ordered and that came about a month ago DID NOT FIT. When I say didn't fit? There was at least a foot gap between the zipper. There was no way I was going to get into that dress by the wedding, so I had to order a bigger dress and have it rush delivered (still not here yet...getting nervous). Anyways, today I decided to try that dress on again......THE DRESS ZIPPED!! Now.....it was still way too tight...but that was mainly because of my boobs. I have REALLY REALLY large boobs lol, so there was no way it was going to work still.....but what an achievement when just one month ago I had a 12 inch gap in the zipper!!!

Today I was also approved for my apartment so I officially have a place in Viriginia!! I'll be moving in 2 months and I'm so excited!

I was also 201.00 lbs on the scale this morning which means I have 1.25 lbs to go to see Onederland! It has been a great day all around
