Now that I have started weighing daily (as opposed to weighing every few months), I decided I should be posting in this group. Looks like not a lot of people here, but I am still in the 230s, so it might be my home for a while.
Well I started off in this bracket. Back in January 2013 I weighed in at 229 pounds or 16 stone 5.
I am currently 12 stone 3 and have a target weight of 9 stone 3 which will take my entire weight loss (when I get there) to 100 pounds.
Its nice to have lost over four stone now but three stone still to go sounds like a lot. Plus I am in my 21st week of pregnancy so its going to be a struggle not to gain what I have lost through baby weight. So far, the pregnancy weight isn't too bad!
Thanks for the welcome, Justaloozer! So good to hear of your success, sammymilner, though I agree that pregnancy is a huge challenge when we're trying to control our weight.
232.8. Seeing good scale drops this week, but AF left a week ago, so this is the optimal time for me to drop the lbs.
You are sssooo close, Streudel. AF is frustrating, but I hope you're rewarded by a whoosh once you get through it.
233.0. Up 0.2. Spent too much time thinking about what I did yesterday and how I need to fix it when I just need to recognize that scale fluctuations are a hazard of daily weighing and stay the course. =)
It's been a rough 7 months; house remodeling, my grandmother getting end stage lung cancer and then passing away, my mom having open heart surgery, moving, work,..... I guess really just life LOL.
Gained back seven lbs, but I've lost them again with a lot of hard work the last few weeks.
Lord willing I won't be in this thread long. Wanting to be in the lower teens by September!
Everyone is doing such a fabulous job! Mind if I jump back in?
231.2. Scale is moving in the right direction again.
Welcome back, Fickle. To come back from a hella 7 months and to be where you were before you left - you've discovered successful maintenance. SO IMPRESSIVE!
Welcome back Fickle! WTG maintaining after a rough 7 months!
Scale 227.2 today! That's a new low, though I am ready for a new decade already! I promised myself some new shorts when I hit the 100lb loss mark! Though it may be time to get ready for fall clothes by the time that happens!
231.2. Also known as - exactly the same as yesterday, even though my calories were well within control. But I had a great work-out, so that might explain the lack of movement on the scale.
Justaloozer - You are so close to your 100-pound loss mark. It's got to be so hard to be patient through those last 12 pounds. Can't wait to celebrate with you.
Lacy - I do weight lifting three days a week, cardio another three, with one rest day. I had to dial back my cardio because of a knee issue, but love the lifting. However, I think it has messed with my scale results today, because sore muscles retain water, so even though I know it is more than worth it to try to build (or even just preserve) muscle, I have to constantly remind myself of the value of patience. =)
You are sssooo close, Streudel. AF is frustrating, but I hope you're rewarded by a whoosh once you get through it.
I sure do too, Laurie Dawn. I'm so ready for those teens. And you're right, one of the hazards of daily weighing is getting caught up in those fluctuations. I keep a line chart of my daily weigh ins and it helps to remind me that the line is going down over the long haul.
Wow, justaloozer, 88 lbs is impressive!! You'll be to that century mark before you know it.
Lacy, for exercise, I'm walking on work breaks most days and riding my bike most days. Haven't gotten back into lifting yet, but I'd like to. Right now, I'm just trying to reestablish the exercise habit.
Lacy - I do a 30 minute kettlebell circuit about 5 days a week and then ride my bike 30 min every day, weather and life permitting of course. We'll be moving back into city limits soon and I plan on riding to work every day then which will push that up to an hour.
Thanks for the welcomes everyone!
You guys are doing great!
I struggled all weekend with my calories and, save for yesterday, feel like I succeeded, but man, I've woke up with that burned out feeling this morning. I'm going to fight through it. I'm having to skip lunch today because my small lunch hour is going to be packed with errands. I think a low calorie day is just what I need to banish the weekend feast I had. It's going to be so nice when things settle back down at home.
