No many people confuse Fast 5 and 5:2. 5:2 is where you eat 500 calories 2 days a week and then you eat whatever on the other 5 days. There might be a calorie limit on those days, but I'm not really sure.
What I do is Fast 5, which is Fasting everyday for 19 hours and eating in a 5 hour window. My window is more like 4 hours, from 6:30 to 10:30 each night. I break my fast with a 200 calorie snack then around 9:30 I eat dinner, which is usually around 1000 calories. For me that works, because I prefer big meals to "grazing".
I can tell with Fast 5 that I am losing fat in my stomach more than what I normally would with calorie restriction.
The author of the Fast 5 "diet" says you don't have to count calories when you do eat, but I am a little ocd and I have to. Of all the diets I've tried (and I"ve tried many) this is definitely the easiest I've ever done. Which sounds crazy, but I really don't even get hungry till about 2 hours before my window opens and an hour and a half of that is leaving work and driving home, so it's not so bad. And I drink a lot of water.
And thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I'm on the down hill slide to 40 now, so I know losing this weight will just get harder and harder so I am determined to get it off this time for good!!!!!
