Hey Ladies!

nonameslob I know what you mean. Taking accurate measurements can be a pain to do . I try and select points on my body where I have the tape touch each time I measure--like for waist I always go across my belly button--instead of the natural waist--and over my widest areas of my love handles. I also stand in front of the mirror every time I measure which makes it easier to keep those points in my "visual memory".

Easily Amused Yeah that, or they lose super fast, stop posting, and come back with gains . Happens to the best of us . I point that out not to say that losing fast is a death sentence, but that I have been on this forum long enough to see a lot of that too. So yeah, I try not to compare, but I'm human . I look at posters who have been around a while like AAD, who have slow small steady losses, and never seem to complain about it. If I were a betting woman I would put my money on those posters making it to maintenance and staying--over myself even. I try to keep my mind on that perspective when I complain about not losing enough, but again I'm human .

nitrus29 Glad you brought this up! I struggle with this every month. I get those same feelings of failure when I want to give myself that time as well. I have given myself time off during TOM in the past and have for example as recently as last month gave myself no days off and felt like it was an achievement . I think I will start allowing a day off for my "heaviest day" and just accept that, anything more would be unbearable for me, because then I would just start adding up the calories I missed out on .

I hear you MarliQQ.. taking a rest day on the heaviest day seems to make more sense for sanity's sake I took a rest day yesterday and this morning I had a hallelujah moment when I saw the scale at 205 !! There is hope LOL

Easily Amused You are very right about comparing to others, but man is it hard *not* to do! Especially on these boards. Must focus on comparing ME to ME!

nitrus29 I didn't post about TOM the other day, and thought to myself "Well I don't get it anymore since I got an IUD." I got occasional spotting the first few months and that was it. Well, I got my full-blown period the other day haha Go figure! That explains why my hunger was up and energy down. Anyway, I've never had really bad side effects with TOM aside from hunger and slight lack of energy, so I usually manage to stick to my workout schedule. I'm sure you will figure out what you are capable of doing during that time. Don't let yourself feel guilty if you really need a break on those heavy, crampy, uncomfortable days (but remember that a nice walk can help ease cramps).

MarliQQ It's nice to see your comments on the slow losers. I hope to be one of those slow but successful stories!

I didn't do too great yesterday. Tried to fast until dinner so I could really enjoy my dinner out with mom, but like I said, got my period and was hungry by lunchtime. Today is a new day. Going to grill something wholesome for dinner if this rain ever stops. Bf is away Saturday so I will be filling my body up on tons of veggies and I'll have time to get back to into my gym routine. Plus lots of gardening, cleaning and yard work to do this weekend!

spring cleaning and yard work is always an added workout!! my neighbor bought her and I tickets to this event where Shaun T (the INSANITY guy) is having in person classes throughout the day today. Have you girls seen his videos? It's really insane! I don't know what I signed up for but I hope to survive today's class. On a happier note, the scale is moving and I am seeing lower numbers.. weighed in at 204.6 this morning so yay !! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Nitrus, I've never seen the videos but I hope you had an awesome time!

Easily Amused, wow almost 70 pounds lost? That's incredible! Can I ask when you started? I know slow and steady is good, but its nice to hear of someone who has actually managed to lose steadily over a long time period. I know how you feel though. I wish I would "only" lose two pounds a week lol!

I cooked up a storm today! I made turkey meatballs with zucchini, spinach and carrots in them. I'm hoping the bf likes them. He's not big on veggies but I think they taste awesome. Made homemade gravy (sauce) with italian sausage to go with it. Two batches ready to go in the freezer. I also made turkey burgers with mushrooms that are going in the freezer (raw). Also hoping the bf likes those, again with the veggies. And I made chicken adobe for myself for dinner tonight since I'm home by myself, with tons of leftovers. Hopefully the frozen stuff will make my life easier the next few weeks so I won't be tempted to go out or make something terrible for me. I am exhausted! Hopefully tomorrow I can go for a long bike ride and work off all the goodies I tasted today while cooking.

Sorrow - you look great! Congrats on Onederland!!! See you in the 190s soon

Nitrus - keep going down!

I'm really excited to start this week off right after a really busy, abnormal week last week with work and a surprise TOM. That is all behind me now. Getting back to my gym and food routine. I also think I'm going to cut alcohol out completely for about two weeks to help push me into Onederland (oh the things I'll do to get there...I can't get it out of my mind). I usually only drink on weekends, but we're going canoeing for Memorial Day Weekend and I think I just won't take anything besides water. I love my drinks, but I need a solid break to get my where I want to be weight-wise!

I DID IT! 199 today!

That's my weight after only one fast this week - I usually weigh after the second fast, so I know Thursday morning should be even lighter.

I'm sure I'll be back and forth in the 200s for at least a month, because that's how my body is, but man it felt good. The last time I reached the 190s (over 3 years ago), I got to 195 and went right back up. So determined to get past that and more this time around. First mini goal reached!

Thanks for all the inspiration ladies. It really, truly has kept me going.

Sorrow Have fun at ComiCon! Yes, the weather is beautiful here. Definitely gets me even more active...but unfortunately food is my biggest problem LOL

Easily Amused I'm sure your new numbers will stick I think I'm going to follow your lead on the no booze except for every few weeks. Already told the bf I'm not bringing any this weekend, so we'll go from there and see how it affects me.

nonameslob - WOO HOO! way to go!!

I am having a rough week diet wise. I am moving jobs so everyone is taking me out for lunches and dinners and I am trying to stay within calories but it's so tough cause I don't get the choice of restaurants anyhoo next week on should be back on plan!! I haven't stopped the workouts so not seeing any gains, so I guess that's a good thing.
