Default Update! Woot Woot!

Hey ya'll!

Back after a few chaotic travel weeks--gained 4 lbs in three days of walking all over Boston (but hey--I climbed the Bunker Hill Memorial! All 294 steps! I couldn't have done that three months ago!).

Turned around and went home to my parents' for Easter a week later. . . lost my extra four pounds while eating bratwurst, spaghetti, and candy, and not touching a piece of exercise equipment all 10 days.

I may in fact be a medical mystery . . . but at least the ticker didn't move in the *wrong* direction.

Got home Sunday night and promptly hied myself hence to the gym for an AMAZING WORKOUT. (I've been struggling a bit with some tendonitis in my knee, and the time off let it cool down, I think.)

Meetup with the trainer tonight should be interesting.

I want to explore some 6-week challenge ideas. Running/endurance challenges aren't medically wise for me, and the trainer has a plan in place for weight training, so I think maybe I want to find something core-strength or agility related.

Anyone have suggestions? I am horribly un-graceful, so I need something that can start from a baseline zero in ability.

Hey Lady!

Sorry I wasn't able to reply--life has been non-standard the last few weeks.

The diet change-up has been successful for me in the past, but while I've been very careful to eat healthy since I started back, I've been trying to avoid specific diets--just focusing on lots of protein and incorporating veggies and water.

I'm thinking there's a nutrition element I don't have quite nailed down. Before I got hurt, I was working with an endocrinologist who had me on first 1,200, then 1,000 calories a day (for about 6 mos). I measured and logged everything that went into my mouth and was very vigilant about the gym. Hardest I've ever worked in my life! I think I lost 7 lbs over the six months. (I was around 250-ish at that point). Went home for a week, lost 6 lbs eating "normal-healthy" at Mom's. Came back, went on the schedule again, and nothing moved.

Mathmatically, I should have been lower. There's either a still-undiagnosed BMR issue or I'm not incorporating some nutrient correctly (very possible).

Like I said--this time I'm just trying to really give my body access to healthy proteins and veggies. I figure it's been through a lot the last few years and could use really good rebuilding supplies.

I'm at 287.6 and have been hovering around there for the last week or so. I started at 312, so I'm happy, but the weight's not coming off as fast as I'd like. Trying to decide what I want to do, nutritionally speaking.

278.6 this morning. Don't know how that happened but I will take it. Planning on eating healthy today. Hope I don't cave in like I usually end up doing.

After a bout of sickness, TOM, and restarting calorie counting, the scale this morning said 279.4, a 6lb. loss! A good way to start May and hopefully I'll be out of the 270s by the end of the month!

Joining this post! Hope I don't stay long!!! But I love these 10lb benchmarks...

Lost 93lbs back in 2010 (thanks to these 10lb threads and 3FC of course)...and re-committing myself to lose it (again) and keep it off this time. Got derailed by life events (married and baby)...not letting anything throw me off course again! Life happens, right? It's how you chose to handle it that makes a difference!

Overdid it on the food front yesterday so I went for an extra-long walk/jog today and won't go above my normal no-exercise day calorie limit to make up for it.

I also got a mini-fridge in my room, so I went out and bought water, 100% juice with no sugar added (on sale for 2/$3!), carrots, and pineapple to fill it. That way if I need a snack, I've got healthy choices right next to me instead of eating whatever junk food my mother has brought home.

Woohoo! Awesome discipline, Rashomon! You'll love that convenience!

My food tracking hasn't been good lately. I've got to refocus, though--have an appointment with a new endo on the 28th.
